  1. In a similar vein. . . I once stayed up all night rping with someone. During this time I had Professional Griefers by DeadMau5 on repeat. We wound up rping for 14-16 hours (I honestly don't remember) . . . .that song was playing the entire time. It just suited the rp so well. I still listen to it to this day. I always listen to the LOST OST (selected tracks from all seasons) when writing or playing a villain. The incidental creepiness of it is beyond inspiring.
  2. Excuse me? *coughs* Correction, watch as Hornet arranges the convenient injury of some poor girl who didn't want to get the sweaty redhead dude anyway.
  3. I'd set Berrod to 16, but only because he'd toss the bread and veggies and eat just the meat.
  4. Good, because they're both from the same language! Also, Warren... dat foreshadowing! At least Crofte wears a dress well. *nodself* They say to write what you know. I've got heart-straining angst down pat. *makes moon eyes at the camera* Damn it, Warren. /closes door again
  5. Once I ended up fighting another monk at manors. It was lolzy. SO MUCH FLAILING. The animations were awesome though.
  6. You and me both. wait wut? >.> I just think 'Quetzalcoatl' and somehow that smushes around to 'Coatleque' and I remember because I'm weird like that.
  7. I'm tempted to throw Berrod in there as a hot potato. He'll be sweaty and gross after the Grindstone maybe. I'll just watch as all the ladies hope they don't get paired with him. Eh, sign me up, I don't need sleep!
  8. Mannn...I know how that feels. I started studying networking a long time ago and realized I hated it with a PASSION. Computers are fun -- and knowing about them and how they connect to each other is great, but it just wasn't the career path for me. So now I call up my irritable IT buddies whenever something goes wrong they hate me so much
  9. Warren is unable to bring himself to look in her eyes, grumbling something about "just getting it over with" and tentatively reaching his hand out for hers. There's a moment that takes an eternity and then they touch, fingers lacing together greedily at first, then naturally. He manages to raise his eyes as far as the jewel on the collar, waiting for it to light... ...but it doesn't. He looks up, the same shocked expression mirrored on the woman standing before him. Before there are words there's another hand tugging at his free one and an exclamation. "I got the paladin! Yaaaaay!" He is pulled away, unable to speak, his hand still reaching out as someone else moves to join her. I just had to close my office door because of how hard I cackled.
  10. Excellent. Very worthy. As for people's infatuation with psychology -- it's a very intriguing and rewarding profession! I'm still in the early years of it but so far I've not yet regretted the career choice.
  11. Oh don't act like you weren't hoping for this! Nothing would make me happier than for Crofte and Warren to NOT be paired up for this, but have to watch one another go through the trials with another person. You monster. Two ships in the niiiiight~
  12. ............. This is magical information ROFL. I only actually stopped stripping three months ago. It got me through my first year of college, then after that it just became a hobby/job on the side. It was an interesting experience, and I got to help a lot of the less fortunate guys in the business. A porn studio even tried to recruit a few of us -- that was something else. However, I declined in favor of a career in psychology. I started work as a counseling therapist for emergency response personnel and worked my way up from there (while stripping on the side the whole time!). My newest job made me finally give it up. It was a sad parting, but the time had come!
  13. It's so addictive, jeez. It's rewarding too, even if you lose. Poor Berrod can't stand fighting for the Maelstrom, but his probation officer tells him it's a good way to look good for his review!
  14. L'yhta's an active member of the Adventurers' Guild; her profession is essentially being an adventurer and professional wizard for hire. I don't mention it on her wiki page, much like I don't mention her passing associations with the Scions, because it's not all that relevant to her RP. For her, membership is akin to having a "bounty hunter's license" -- it keeps nosy or wary law enforcement personnel from getting in her way. That it also gives access to levemetes and a place to sleep when she's not near her home (or doesn't want to teleport home for some reason) is a nice plus. Aye, likewise, Berrod doesn't really live the life of an adventurer, but he IS registered -- though that was nearly by force at the insistence of a friend. When gil's tight, he does a leve or two. If he overhears a lucrative venture in need of adventurers? SUDDENLY he's the adventurer sort, and the man for the job! Just looking at him loitering around in there, however, one wouldn't be able to tell that he's registered.
  15. I'm offended that Berrods off harrassing Crofte rather than harrassing Hornet. *huffs, turns every thread into the shipping thread* Hah! He has harassed Hornet, though, at the Grindstone! But seriously, there are times I place Berrod outside the Quicksand to -- well, harrass the ladyfolk and make the place seem a little seedy. I usually do it just outside the door to Pearl Lane -- but sometimes on the Ruby road. More often than not I find myself sending tells to the players assuring them that I'm just playing a jackass -- just in case bleed through results in them being offended.
  16. Speaking of bleed through! Crofte! There was a random moment in game when I had Berrod loitering outside of the Quicksand. He spotted Coatleque and harassed her a bit. It was short, but ruuuude. Her reaction was well played -- but for a moment I considered that it may have been offensive to the player (the way you ran with it confirmed otherwise and was quite a relief). Have you ever been annoyed out of character by the advances of other characters onto yours?
  17. Can we get this on a banner? Fly it by on a blimp? Put it on shirts and hats? Seconded.
  18. Kudos to Obsidian Hornet for giving me a nice bit of RP before bed yesterday! I had fun. It's always a blast to write Berrod in those sorts of situations (he's so dense, goodness), and the trip lugging around her stuff was fun to play off! Thanks for the good times!
  19. I was a stripper for eight years. Now I'm a therapist.
  20. I suppose Botulf has no place in there, nor does the waitstaff. There is nothing, nothing that explicitly states that non-adventurers are disallowed from remaining within the quicksand. The only barring I've seen of non-adventurers has been regarding housing auction -- and even then I think non-adventurers can enter and visit the housing wards. It would be pretty stupid otherwise. If that person wants to limit the scope of their roleplay by being adamant and rude about it, so be it!
  21. What's more romantic than Crofte's will breaking in service to Jin'li and becoming a willing servant to his depravity only to have Warren arrive and kill Jin'li before taking Crofte back for rehabilitation only to find that Crofte's newfound desire for servitude has transferred to Warren and resulting in Warren having to learn how to properly claim Crofte in order to save her from descending into listlessness while at the same time Warren discovers in himself a strength he never new as he becomes more and more dominant and learns to enjoy the submission of Crofte and the "skills" she came to have while serving Jin'li. I will go away now. ...has Hornet been reading the 'romance novels' at the Knuckles...?
  22. It's interesting to see how far this thing is spreading beyond the original participants -- for example, my character was not placed to participate in the events because of other commitments; however, characters that he's associated with are involved, and things began to bleed into his world. Hornet was hurt on the evening that she and he had a little moment. From that, he began to learn bits of what was going on. I began to learn things OOC that painted a bigger picture and now I'm at the point where I have to decide how much I'm going to let this affect my guy. He lives in the Goblet, after all, training hard and drinking lots of water. I suppose I can easily wigglefinger around poisoning by saying that his residence stores water in barrels and tanks -- something like that. It's just really really intriguing to see how this has put me in a position that requires me to pick my canon. It seems like everyone is having a lot of fun, though -- kudos to the folks who got things going! I guess I'll have to read this thread from the start and make a decision based on what I read.
  23. People turn into dragons in there? How did I miss this? Stunlocking Paladins? One of the harrier mobs (Harrowing Harrier, maybe?) channels an ability, Dragon's Blood, that turns it into a Jura Avis if it's not interrupted. In the groups I've been in, it's usually two stuns required before the mob is dead. Also interesting is how some of the Jura Avis mobs actually speak Eorzean... The lore aspect of it is interesting, but leave it to Ishgardians to not explain in any way what's going on with that. "To fear me is to love meeee!"
  24. The boss fights in SV were unique and amazing to me. The first boss was a reboot from SV story -- those aoeing dead adds, yessss. The second boss...! CANNONS. FUN AS HELL. The last boss was just a no-rules brawl that I LOVED. Tam Tara gets two thumbs up. I was thoroughly creeped out the first time I did it, and now I just run through it and enjoy watching the reactions of first-timers. Eerie boss progression, pure tragedy and a distinct air of hopelessness. GOOD JOB. The tropical vista and roleplaying potential of Hullbreaker Isle makes me love it more every time I do it. I keep thinking to myself, "I've gotta do an in-character run of this place, I GOTTA." Syrcus Tower. Don't get me STARTED on Syrcus Tower. I am in LOVE with that place. Scylla, Bara-abs man, Amon and Pecs-Xande the swole are all fun encounters, with everything between them simply BREATHTAKING -- AND THAT MUSIC. Ramuh is a fun little tumble as well! It's a nice dance of a fight with THAT MUSIC THAT I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF. HNNGH. Cheers for these fantastic additions to the duty list!
