  1. Hello. Today, at the Grindstone, my character was rather on-edge. Due to this, he was RP'd as being on-edge, and trying to keep himself at the far-right end of the line. One of the Arbiters came and requested him to be in the line. Rather rudely, at that, so my character scoffed at their interaction with him, and I made clear in the /em text that he was, indeed, in the line. At this point, it broke down to vulgarity with the other character, at which point my character did what he would do with anyone who spoke to him that way - he called them a whore. To say the least, the interactions escalated IC, and now I'm banned from the Grindstone IC. I'd like to know if there is anyone to discuss this with further, as I feel this was OoCly unreasonable and a huge breach and an IC metagame. ((As a note: I removed all names for privacy reasons.)
  2. still have all your names written down and am checking daily :3 hoping for more good fights in the future! <3
  3. Hey all! Caex'ra Vaeriar here. I often fight in the Grindstone on Saturdays. But right now, I'm looking for some fights throughout the week if possible. I tried to throw up a partyfinder for it yesterday but had little to no luck so was hoping to see if I could find some people here! I tend to play from 7:00-12:00 P.M EST. Caex right now is very likely to fight on the road leading to Horizon (There's a little perch there that he scouts from. Love it.) I don't plan to put either character's life on the line, but injuries are encouraged! Character is an Axe user. I would love to hear from anyone that would like to fight! Dice or Freeform welcome; it's challenger's preference!
  4. A'rytiss was, by near and far, the most... unsteady of the group. Where everyone else had stepped off that boat in a Mass Effect Suicide Mission style, he... Was sitting on the boat, curled into a little ball, with a blindfold covering his eyes. His body curled up for safety, he made a small whimpering sound as the boat gave its thud against the docks. "uuu...." He'd moan out, "Whyyyy... Why does it have to be boats..." He'd bemoan the situation. No one said anything about boats. He hated boats. They terrified him. The fact that he had to be blindfolded or unaware of the boat was just one sign of his adamant distaste for them. He sniffles a little, rolling towards the direction of footsteps. Even pinned against his head, they could still hear the delicate sounds of feet stepping around the boat, ruffling towards the shoreline. He tries to fumble his way to the docks, reaching around absently and - probably grabbing someone's tail at some point - before finally finding his way to the docks themselves. His hand pulls him up, and he -lifts- himself, albeit weakly, on the docks. He tries to stand, but instantly, finds himself tripping, falling face-forward on the docks. Still... The solid ground was welcomed - even if it was just wooden planks, it wasnt' a boat! He seemed a little dizzy'd by his harrowing experience of boatness, slowly lifting himself up into a semi-seated position. His hands tremble a bit and he moves to grasp at his blindfold, pulling it off in one smooth motion. His eyes weakly look up. He was a young man - clearly not older than the rest of the group, a very young individual. Perfect Amethyst eyes reflect a gentle pink that perfectly encapsulate his black orbular pupils. His white hair, long with tips ending in a faint red crimson, contrast neatly with a white robe and pale complexion. His skin is kept near-perfect and free of wounds, not a single scar able to be seen on him. And at his back - he carries his staff, which is kept in the shape of a flower at the top, though it currently had the form of a bud alone. He shivers a little, feeling his stomach wretch. But it wasn't from the boat - it was a far more... intense, feeling. That pulsing dark energy, seemed like a battering ram to his delicate sensitivity to the corruption of Aether. He fidgets nervously, having not moved to his feet, instead seeming... to just sit there, on the ground, waiting for the group... He shivered, and his eyes kept to the ground, ears pinned back and body seeming to shake on occasion. "A-ahm..." He'd say out, nervously, "P-Please... just a minute... I'll be right with you..." he'd say simply, ready to get up and move when the rest were... but for now, taking his time to get his barings and become accustomed to the sensation that filled his stomache.
  5. Do you need a healer for this, by chance? Looks fun.
  6. We won't be using actual visual monsters, it's open-postings with their template used for the posts, not actually visually there though (Otherwise timing would be impossible, as you said) But thank you for the advice!
  7. If people would like to participate as individuals and there is demand for it, I will add a few B-ranks for 1-on-1's as well.
  8. Slated to start on 09/05/14, moving forward for 2-3 weeks, then 2-3 weeks off, then another phase. Goal for this RP... The goal for this RP is to spread RP amongst more people. To have more becoming actively involved with one another, by requiring small/large groups that all can participate in together and get rewarded together. This is to give Combat-style RP'ers, as well as healers, a chance at having a fun fight. The IC Story... Hunt Corruption: Large monsters roaming the land matching descriptions of S-rank 'hunt' targets have been located. These beasts, massive in size, differ in that their form is less defined. Their bodies suffer a sort of black corruption that trails along them, and as they're cut, often dissipates into the air. To make sure that this threat is eliminated quickly and hastily, we are putting out a large gil reward for each of the hunt target's heads. A-rank: (Requires 3 minimum, split 3 ways: 30k) Hellsclaw Sabotender Balerina Alectractyon Girtab Forneus S-rank: (Requires 7-man parties, split 7 ways : 70k) Nandi Mindflayer Zona Seeker Safat Agrippa OoC: This is a series of fights designed to be combat characters. Each one is requested to bring a certain number of people, as would be appropriate for the size. Keep in mind, S-rank hunt targets are usually -massive- in scale. Thus, a full party (7) is recommended (One spot for a DM.) Keep in mind, these are not actually the hunt targets, but imitations of them - thus, the continuity of knowing an S-rank is not affected. A dice system is in place for those who would like to use dice, see below: Dice System S-rank: All players recieve 3 HP. Boss recieved 7 HP. All of the bosses attacks will be AoE and will occur every 3 attacks. Everyone will roll for Defense whenever the boss attacks, and will take damage based upon the written word. A-rank: All players recieve 3 HP. Boss recieved 6 HP. Boss's attacks are single target, designed to try and eliminate single targets, unless otherwise specified (Some bosses have cleaves, please look forward to it.) Players will roll in order, with the boss always rolling at the start of the fight, then every 2 attacks. Each mosnter must be taken on by the minimum required. More are allowed to fight. The event ends when all are killed by a party ICly. Each reward is split as directed above. Each fight is a DM-based fight, Free-form combat. Please ensure to have an approved DM present for the fights. Applications will be accepted here. Please use the following Format: Fill in (Single Members) May apply as well! If you feel you want to participate, but dont' have 2-6 friends, please submit the application below! If after 2-3 weeks all monsters are not dead, then they will fade and the reward will be rescinded, so that the RP might continue. Further, those who suffer injuries or wish to be involved in further RP, are politely asked to know the following: Becoming affected by the corruption on the hunt targets, means you can suffer any of the following detrimental effects: Fever Rash 'Black Lung' like effects, wherein you start to cough black smog. 'pink eye' type effects, with a darkened crust. Blood that seems almost to be slosh-like. Aetherical issues, such as failure to cast spells, spells having different effects, or even spells having opposite and enhanced effects. Possibility of infecting others by touch (low), prolonged proximity (low), or healing/being attacked by aetherical attacks (High) What we're looking for before getting this started... Trustworthy DM's! We need people willing to help coordinate this. People willing to help RP and spread the 'corruption' aspect, as it will continue into future RP. Advice! I welcome advice, more than readily! Current Contacts: Caex'ra Vaeriar A'rytiss Edar Feel free to contact in-game!
  9. A'rytiss Edar : Can come as a healer Caex'ra Vaeriar: Can come as a combatant. Whatever you feel you need, I'll go as
  10. Thank you all for the very quick responses. It's still something I'm looking at, but the advice is definitely welcomed. @ Olofantur - It's purely a personal thing, and thus if it is not something I can keep, can be discarded - but there is a strong affinity to that name. I have read that topic, and likewise know the intricicies of having multiple -' names. The base name is where I struggle at the moment. ^^ @Freemoon aye, that's a good idea and would be great to use as a later-resort if need be. @Aysun Blast it all! I always mispell things. Bah! Caehk'(whatever) would create a hissing sound on the end as-is customary with many of the names. It's part of the reason I considered that change, but I really do fight myself to keep things as IC-ly appropriate as possible. That's why I'm concerned - 'ish' is just something that tends not to cut it for me.
  11. So, I'm thinking about going to Gilgamesh, and one of the biggest things that makes me pause whenever I go to make an RP character in an established universe is the name of the character. 'Caex Vaeriar' is a traditional name that I have loved for a long time. It has a deep meaning to me on a personal/OoC level, and maintaining as much of the original name as possible is important to me. That said, I also wish to make sure to update the name in such a way that it fits in with the lore standards presented by the Keepers of the Moon. As the character is a male, it means he will inherit his mother surname, as well as her original name, thus resulting in a possible maintaining of the original name. (The 'x' could be seen as an abbreviated way of writing the name to compensate for the 'hk' many names show, though I may change it to Caehk for that reason.) I was curious if anyone could offer insight that might have a better grasp of naming convention for me. Any advice is appreciated.
