I've plots to bridge (Generally a WIP) and people to meet. The character herself is the same as my namesake. She's a wealthy young aristocratic woman who looks like she may break into an Ojoulaugh any moment. She's eloquently spoken, doesn't work in the shadows and commonly hosts interesting individuals into her home. Occasionally known to host extravagant events and fond of keeping an ear to the ground. She would be a more on the buying side than the seeking side. Would be a good place to make your dimensions go full circle~ Anywho, I'm on Balmung mostly in the evenings~ We could coordinate something there.

Hello! Hello! A grand evening to my fellow RPers! It's absolutely awe inspiring to see how many responses i've received in such a short window. I'm enticed by all the opportunity presented... Down to business! I will definitely attempt to make contact to the people who have expressed interest to cross those avenues and perhaps make a good foundation for continued RP! I think a big meet up would be good, but before hosting a summit, it might be good to plan something! So stay tuned and don't change the channel. Good Evening! I've been RPing on FFXIV for about a year and a half... That's lots of RPs! The character has gone through ups and downs, partaken in their share of fabulous adventures, loved, lost, and has come to her own more often than not. As of late, It's become harder and harder to engage. It's difficult to have a character that really for the most part has no real major problems and to force them to go outside. So! Now I'm seeking some resolution. I'm looking to find some new faces to interact with. If you've been on Balmung, no doubt you've seen Barbarccia loitering around, seemingly generally disinterested and generally unapproachable! - A bit about me. I'm working now a days, went from having 16 hours of free time to roughly... 4 hours on week days, it's been a tough adjustment. I used to be very active, pretty wealthy as a player, managed to get a private mansion for myself for RP reasons with the hopes that some day it would act as a sort of hub for like minded individuals. I generally enjoy big picture RP... The draw of a Noble character is of course responsibility, etiquette, and the high class respect that it draws. I enjoy intrigue, mystery, politics, strategy, business, research, aetherics, history/lore pretty much all the boring stuff! Although more often than not, I'm pulled along for some conflict or plot resolution, that's okay! My weakest areas tend to be small talk or way of life RP. Rich people don't have problems to talk about, and they generally aren't able to relate to people who do and that generally comes along with keeping an image as well! Combat RP, I don't engage in it if I can avoid it, and Barbarccia isn't a very good combatant to begin with. Romance. I can do it, but it's not an over day, love at first sight RP, and Generally it's a long winded path that people arn't willing to partake. - A bit about Barbarccia. She's a Highborn Female, quite tall for someone of her size, and dresses in a generally flamboyant fashion. She tends to be rather expressive, mostly due to her career choices of business and politics. She can be long winded, wordy, and evasive. People with little patience for that generally get pretty irked. She's also absurdly and silly rich with out a care in the world with a good income revenue, plenty of resources, and the leisure time to spend it. Her strongest points! She's a Lawful Neutral character, meaning she's law abiding to the nth degree and see's the system as a way to protect herself and as a tool against others. Neutrality doesn't mean that she's just akin to do something terrible as to do something well. She considers herself a good person and looks to do right by people. She is not beyond her own vices or temptations behind the veil and can get pretty dirty with her strategies. She's highly social, generally enjoys talking the ear off people and does everything in her power to act in the best interest of her business and her city state. In that order. She tends to get defensive against people who don't follow any sort of ethics or code or generally people who she can't understand, and for good reason! She has a lot to lose! What she can provide... She has a wealth of resources be it, monetary, itemized, or knowledge related. She's an astute problem solver with a strong understanding of Aesthetics and Arcanameic geometry venturing into studying other aethereal paths as of the present. She has good insight into politics and is generally well connected. She acts as a good means to take characters to the next level, giving perspective no one see's coming. As an antagonist. Barbarccia is mostly the pull strings sort of character but only for threats she deems potent enough to cause enough damage. In the past she has contracted shady characters to steal, assassinate, kidnap, stalk, and torture [ALL IC, and with permission of course!] In pursuit of pushing her greater good, momma knows best attitude. She can be a firm anchor as a political target, or a face to a stigmatic group. --- What I want... To meet people! I'm in a rutt, mostly of my own doing and am looking to branch out and interact with people! Feel free to message me in-game, say hi, or something or another! I'm generally happy to respond! Hello~ Good Evening~ I'm currently tight in RP contacts and would definitely benefit from meeting and interacting with new people to take RP in new and interesting directions. Barbarccia Herself is a Lawful Neutral aligned character who's looking to advance in her world and to come into her own. She plays a "Role" one needed and that she finds mutually exclusive especially for keeping her ear to the ground. I'm up for some meet and greet!

Mmm! I've learned that after recent events unfolding people generally lean towards being spiteful or rude towards the noble caste so much in such that I've had people get defensive when the character it's self is unable to relate to the general ongoing issues a commoner would face. I've forgone announcing the character as a noble IC and have just gone with being a well dressed business woman making casual chit chat because the walls people put up are MUCH lower when they suspect you worked for status instead of being born to it. It's a tough stigma to break and as mentioned before, RP encourages people to challenge authority. If you look through the forums you'll find the plight of many lawful aligned characters pulling out their hair trying to figure out how to play a upstanding member of society without having to physically engage with every rapscallion who doesn't adhere to the canonical law. Being Noble means being Noble. You can be or do whatever you'd like, but if you typecast yourself, you have to at least pretend to play the part and sadly that typically means making the tough decisions, having the general population not like you despite your best intentions and then having to firmly defend your status and beliefs over and often. This is why large extravagant parties are the go-to for most people of status. It inducts people into your playing field and forces people to behave in the spirit of RP. Personally, I'd like to see all dimensions of caste, gender, and races represented to make the world that much more atmospheric, vivid, and rich. It all comes full circle. Those snooty people that keep you from having fun? Yeah, they are often great RPers with large arching themes, an easy second opinion, greatly connected, of if anything else, they add flavor and intensity to your current RP by bringing in Politics, Intrigue, Business, Sciences and other big picture, big schemes that take a great story and makes it into an Epic.

Barb is apparently absurdly loaded in old money, and her sole motivation for doing things is to 'get out of the house.' She's seen around, mostly in the evenings when most people go to sleep and occasionally offering dangerous jobs to people with a death wish. She wears super flamboyant clothing, (I think otto and I were having a fashion off) and tosses gil around without much of a care. HOWEVER, she's not showboaty over it because she's a firm believer in Nobless Oblidge and treats most people with whatever respect they garner off their own merits. She's sometimes escorted by guards as well during the day! =o OOCly, I have a Mansion (Personal) I've almost completely decorated. It's completely used for RP purposes... although she typically won't invite just anyone over. I can mostly make or buy all the nice things... but mostly I'm not big on flaunting it and just enjoy helping out where I can. ICly, she enjoys meeting people, and more so people that share her interests and have their own power to throw around. I can see her hosting a party and such if only to get people interested in her wild projects. (She totally has a vault too) I'd like to note. That while SHE IS wealthy. It's not a defining feature of the character, and it's typically never even brought up, as she doesn't think much of it herself.

--MMORPG background Um, I played all sorts of MMOs. Ragnarok Online, Anarchy Online, Lineage II, SWTOR, Guildwars... Ext. I've always played them pretty much straight then got bored so i thought i'd try something new this time and RP. I've been having a blast! I came over from Gilgamesh to Balmung like two days ago and I'm like at point zero all over. Hoping to meet new and interesting people to RP with! I totally already went and got into Europa-OOC and Intermission and they have been great and very lively and friendly. =3 --RP experience I've done all sorts of RPing too! Um, Free form, pen and paper, other types? I've run games for other people, and have played all sorts of characters with different themes. I'm confident in my abilities to interact with other people and love working together with them to really make the RP's stand out and be memorable. I'm a firm believer that almost "all rp is good rp" and am pretty open to interesting ideas or fresh prospective. --Character ideas/info Right now I'm only playing one Character. She's on the Balmung Server and goes by "Barbarccia Valadis." She has always been a sort of Diplomat even when she was in the service of the Sultansworn of Ul'dah. Quick to laugh and just as easily lost in thought, she always tends to lean towards doing what's right in the most pragmatic way possible. Beneath her shy exterior lays an exceptionally loyal and a diligent worker with a strong sense of pride. As of late she has been forced to leave the order due to some unfortunate happenstances. With a mixture of bibliophilia and active practice she became quite proficient in medicine and it's practices. Using that she was able to inject herself into various jobs throughout Eorzia tending to people and helping with problems. She isn't this game's protagonist and isn't affiliated with the main story. She's just a face in the crowd caught in the middle of troubled times. [align=center][/align] --How did you learn about the coalition? Originally found it on google when looking for an FC on Gilgamesh. Then almost every single one of my friends urged me to come here and get involved! --What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? Um, I'm in character almost all the time unless it's established that we're doing some game related stuff. I enjoy all sorts of RP and meeting new people. Getting involved in this world and having some sway in people's lives is really something I love to do. --Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? Got my Associates at the University of Miami, currently working for a marketing firm doing some graphic stuff and some advertisement stuff. I do play lots of games, but am really a social butterfly. I love meeting people and socializing.

RP Style Amount of RP [HEAVY]: I'm near constantly in character when roaming in the world, especially when walking through the bustling cities. I tend to be very open to walk-in RPing, typically getting caught for long stretches of time meeting interesting new faces and making friends! I do understand that not everyone is the same and that not everyone is an RPer so I don't force it on others past a friendly hello. I'm open to playing OOC with friends and helping others and generally just getting involved in whatever I can! Views on RP combat and injuries: I understand that action and violence are a big tipping point in an sort of story. It's a natural escalation of events and can be very exciting if done right. Since RPing is creating a story with other people it's only natural that RP combat be done in an organized matter between all the participants. Communication is very important and I, myself, am very flexible when it comes to dealing with fights. The most important part is that everyone is happy with the final result while having a good time as such one must have a certain level of maturity to participate. Injuries can be an interesting turn of events and present an RP opportunity in it's own. I've been beaten, blugeoned, cracked over the head all in the name of good RP. Once again communication is key here. Nothing should be expected of another person who's on the receiving end expecially when it comes to inflicting crippling or fatal attacks. Injuries are natural in the flow of combat whether it be among players or among the world. Eorzea is a magical place and most injuries can be healed as fast as they are inflcited so there's no harm in getting roughed up from time to time! Views on IC romance: Hehe... I tend to find myself hindged here most of my RP experiance. It's only natural for characters who have good chemistry to get together. Romace can be very interesting and very fun, sometimes even supplimental to other events. I personally welcome romance arcs with open hands as long as it flows organically. I've had a mixed bag of experiances before but the fact that such a range of emotion can be felt over characters in a roleplay really shows how powerful such an element can be. ON THAT NOTE, IC Romance should stay IC romance. I can not stress how much damage a misunderstanding on this level can cause between people as such communication is key in making sure that everyone is content. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I've said before that "All RP is good RP." I'm a big fan of over arching stories and grand scale things. I'm certainly open to all realms of possibilities since the world of Eorzea is such a big place filled with mystery and things are being discovered every day. I find myself trying to get invovled in all manner of things and openly give of myself to try to situate myself fittingly in fun RP stories. Views on lore: Okay! I'm not exacty the most well versed in Lore as I've burned through the game's content both in 1.0 and 2.0 with the intent of jumping right into the RPs afterward. I make an extreme effort to not be the protagonist of this Grand Story. Canonly, Barbarccia is not involved in the Main Story and as such when things are brough up about it, it's always a shocking surprise. I do however respect the game's lore! I feel that it is the backbone and structure of every RP that goes on in this world. I'm completely fine with people adding their own twist or clever Ideas to their characters and encourage it. I've run across friendly Garleans and Magitek technology in my adventures and that's fine! What I don't like is when things are added that don't make sense in the context of the universe and that is where the line stands. Lore is to be respected but fitting sacrifices can be made for better RPing. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): "/say": Typically the backbone of RPing. Things in say are IC unless expressed other wise. Typically what I use the most. "Linkshells, FC chat": These have to be defined when they are joined. OOC should stay OOC, IC should stay IC. "/Tell, /p": An interesting one since it can be OOC and IC depending on how it is used. (Typically messages in OOC I use parenthesis) "and for IC i tend to use quotes." "/em": I see alot of people that like to talk within emotes and It's just a teeny peeve and there is nothing wrong with it. I can see how it is more traditional like a forum based RP, BUT, I feel that keeping "/say" and "/em" separate creates a much more organic RP experiance at least for me. People don't tend to do alot of things at once in small periods of time. Pacing is very important to RPing. III.
