As a representative of the RP community as a whole, you need to represent the community AS A WHOLE. Both Balmung and Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh has already split this community in twain. Discretely not mentioning the original RP server merely comes across as self serving your own invested interests. As for me having to make a Reddit account, learn to use the site, find all these RP posts and correct them because you and other Gilgamesh members simply chose to purposely leave out two words "and Balmung" seems a bit snobbish but I guess I have to now seeing how I have been and will continue to be a community representative for the RPC. Once again, seems like you want me to clean up your actions because you rather not. I have been NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but supportive of Gilgamesh and the community as a whole. I only ever asked was for reasons why they chose not to play Balmung. The responses were vague, misleading or down right misinformation and lies. As we try to address those, we are considered elitist, pecking (whatever the hell that means) and exclusive when we have been nothing of the sort. The game isn't even out yet, new players haven't had a chance to get to know Balmung players outside this forum and the CONSTANT rehashing of this is getting tiring. I've tried saying my peace once already a few pages back but I keep getting drawn in trying to correct these blatant oversights, misinformation or down right hate on myself and other Balmung players. In addition, abusing the Bold, Italics and Underscore options detracts from your post. Too convenient to include "and Balmung" when mentioning Gilgamesh as an RP server on the Reddit? I'm all for supporting, as you have seen ESPECIALLY in my welcome to the RPC video. But from the way this was worded I could have just as well not included Gilgamesh as it would have been "too convenient to include a secondary server" To Everyone else, Gilgameshians and Balmungians: Enough is enough. We are a community. Start acting like it and stop acting like a bunch of middle school students. We are invested into Role Playing as a group. If Balmung goes one way and Gilgamesh goes the other, SO BE IT. But stop FIGHTING about it. STOP LOOKING FOR A FIGHT! STOP TEARING EACH OTHER APART! You are all old enough to know better!

I'd also like to add that I've seen in your reddit topics posted absolutely NO reference to Balmung being an RP server. Basically making it seem that if you want RP, the ~ONLY~ spot to go is Gilgamesh. Also @Selsix that bus was here for three years. People chose not to get on it. Please stop considering us at terrible people from putting time effort and care into the community just because this game is getting a revamp. We stuck around during the time when others did not and worked hard to create a community. I'd rather not see it kicked to the side because people think we're horrible for you know, actually PLAYING the game. In three years from now take a moment to look at yourself and think, hey we established a great RP community on Gilgamesh. What if someone came onto our section of the forums, bad mouthed us for playing three years and refused to play with us because of that.

I can totally understand that concern. I'd like to mention however that many of us here, at least those whom I am aware of, are planning not to use this "hero of light" stick. If anything, we would be more then willing to accept any new players that wanted to say that they were at the battle in character and time skipped with the others. Legacy Tattoo in game or not makes no difference in actual RP.

I do not feel the economy will has as huge an impact on Balmung as it is perceived. In addition, all dungeons released in the beta so far have had level syncs to the correct level as well as the duty finder for cross server dungeon raiding. I also do not truly understand this "wall" people see about Balmung. Especially in the RP side of things. Other then that, you have summed up things rather well. Personally for me, I would suggest Balmung, but that's where I am from and can be considered bias. In the end, it will be your own choice to make. I strongly urge you however to make sure you look at facts rather then misty statements or half truths. If you are unsure of a point, seek clarification from several of the members here.

This is my final statement on this issue. After this, I'm burnt out and done and won't be discussing this anymore as I have done everything I can to attempt to bridge a gap between these two communities and feel like I'm being slapped in the face from time to time. Three years ago, before 1.0 went live, there was a server vote then to unite RP onto a single server. Now for 2.0 (A RE-LAUNCH! NOT A NEW GAME) we have a split for a new server because of this pointless Anti-Legacy crap from the Beta forums. What will happen next? When an expansion comes out and new players join, will we hold a poll for a third server so they can have a "Fresh Start" too? Should we constantly change servers each time a new voice pops in and says "I wasn't here for that vote!" ? There needs to be a limit on this argument and insanity before it gets anymore out of hand. WE ALL WANT RP TO SUCCEED. We tried being inclusive to Balmung when things first started and were met with nothing but resistances and statements like the one here. So my question to you is this, in a Month or two, once your server has done "Trail Blazing" content (which will more then likely be using stats from end game shells focused from those in 1.0 with all level 50s that this Legacy hate seems to point and yell at) will you be server transferring to Balmung and joining the community again? Will this be a constant pissing contest between whose server is the "True" RP server? I'm sick of it. I want to play the game with my current friends and meet new friends. Not bicker and argue anymore. I have tried, time and again. To be welcoming, inclusive and accepting. I made the "I Remember" video series to show that Legacy players are not this hated vile thing some of you point at us as. I have no idea what is left to do to make you all feel welcome short of deleting my account from XIV and walking away because EVERY GOD DAMN THING I DO TO HELP HAS BEEN SLAPPED AWAY OR IGNORED and NO ONE is explaining why other then "We don't want to play on a legacy server because we don't want to play on a legacy server" which makes ZERO logical sense to me.
