  1. Hum.. what are the complete specs for both machines? I admit, though, it's kind of odd sounding already.. I suppose you turned off Ambient Occlusion? I mean, it may seem a real long-shot but if you had it on before.. that setting really, really chews on your performance. Even my GTX 480 stutters when it's on (but I don't want to turn it off, everything looks so flat without it x.x)
  2. *hug'd* Well, at a glance seems to be coming from an authority.. so okay
  3. ... Somehow cuteness is starting to seem a troublesome thing to have >.>
  4. Hi! Sorry, a bit late coming, but still, welcome from a fellow newbie. Also, I was in a roleplay guild on Ragnarök Online called Sylvestra at one point
  5. Well, since I still need to make acquaintance of more roleplayers.. count me in I guess! I think I'll send Forra to be bid upon. By the by.. the date for the event is Sunday 6th February, right? Sorry, s'just, the front page still says Sunday 5th, so.. well, anyhow! Application written in-character: Full Name: Forra Descren ((Character Page)) Age: 17 Gender: Male The gender you prefer for your date: I don't think I mind either way. Not really, anyway. Your Interests: I'm a duelist, so, I'm interested in fighting - but, as in, dueling and combat arts and so! Rather than battles, or being the strongest or stuff like that, I mean. Sparring, too.. and travelling. Oh and fairy tales. Your Dislikes: I don't like self-importance, I guess, or bad losers. What you look for in a date: Someone who's kind, and friendly. Oh, and cheerful, too!
  6. Hi fellow newbie - welcome! ^^
  7. Well, I've done a good bit of roleplay on MMORPG's in the past but none that wasn't ad-hoc, so I'm afraid I'm finding my feet. For now I'll be relying a lot on templates and such I guess. So, let's see.. RL Info: Country: England --Why do you like to RP? I suppose the main reason I like to roleplay is I have a certain thing for the inherent value of any given creative construct.. that is, a story, a setting, or more often a character. Roleplay allows me to increase that inherent value by playing my creations off the creations of other people, thus increasing their inherent value of both my characters and of the characters around me, as well as the setting in which they exist, by virtue of experiences and stories that I could not possibly have come up with alone. ... In other words I guess you could say I'm a bit of a continuity nut. Basic Info: --Characters (in Final Fantasy XIV): Forra Descren, T'aemi Kesrin, Rorina Rokiku, Hana Pendant --Current primary linkshell: None at Present RP Preferences: --RP style I suppose my roleplay style could be described as moderate-heavy, though I don't really know enough about how those classifications work around here to elaborate too much right now. --Are you willing to RP a fight scene in game? If so, preferred method of combat? I'm very willing, but it's not my greatest skill without a structured system running alongside. Generally however I will do my level-best whatever mode of combat's used. That said, a well-played scuffle can be quite the joy to participate in. --Are you willing to take major injuries in game? (ie limb loss, comas, etc.) If storyline demands. I'd prefer my characters not be getting regularly maimed left right and centre if at all possible, but if there's reason for a serious injury I'll generally be more than happy to play out the consequences. --Under what circumstances, if any, would you allow your character to be killed off? Generally this is something I'd like to avoid where possible. If it's a result of a really, really good story and it seems as if the death is both appropriate and well played, or I feel that to not die would devalue my character, I will certainly give it serious consideration. That said, do forgive me if I hang onto the character object, either for playing about with out-of-character, or should the opportunity to reboot it without doing anyone else bother comes along, or some other similarly appropriate reason. --Are you willing to RP romance in game? How far are you willing to go? Yes, I am; in fact I think I'd rather like the idea so long as it doesn't feel forced. And I suppose I'm willing to play as far as feels appropriate with regard to continuity and everyone present's comfortable with. --What kind of non-romantic RP relationships are you seeking? (family ties, etc) Again, basically whatever feels appropriate. If it somehow occurs through roleplay or feels comfortable being assumed to have always been the case after a decent discussion, I should be all for it. --How far from the actual lore are you willing to stray? Generally not far. If it makes sense within the established lore but has no actual canonical support, then it's fine by me. I'll be uncomfortable contradicting a previously set precedent, however, and I think I'd have problems with situations directly contradict official lore unless I've agreed to be part of some other, separate thematic framework beforehand. --Views on chat functions (IC vs OOC in /party, /linkshell, /say)? Let's see... /say is generally always in-character for me, unless established as out of character beforehand, with some form of brackets (usually either (()) or []) denoting OOC asides. /party is pretty context sensitive, but over long distances without good, established IC reason? Probably OOC. /linkshell Eh, the lore treats linkshells as in-character, so for me, in character unless otherwise stated. /tell Usually OOC unless otherwise stated (or representing a whisper). --Will most of your RP be confined in a single linkshell or will you try to RP with as many as possible? Probably I'll roleplay in or with any feel appropriate and don't force me to do something nasty like contradict my character's own continuity. --How do you prefer to be contacted? (PM or post in this thread) I suppose by PMs. At least, that's the most likely means of catching me anyway, though I'll very likely check back for replies in this thread regularly enough anyway out of sheer curiosity.
  8. Goldenmyst.. a Linkshell? I'm still wondering who best to seek to link myself to, the ones listed on my characters in the signature at present are simply appropriate words for them. Still, again, thanks ^^
  9. Oh, thank you! For the welcome and that fix. I was wondering why the field seemed suddenly to have corrected itself.. And oh well, on the info images. Perhaps after 24 hours it will fix itself; I did only generate them today after all.
  10. Well, finally, after all this time, making a concerted effort to involve myself in the Final Fantasy XIV roleplay community. I played Final Fantasy XI a few times and often consider rejoining, but have never had much success getting very far. 'Doing much better in Final Fantasy XIV now, but that's another issue. I've been involved in roleplaying for quite some time, first on Ragnarök Online and Gaia Online, and then in various places thereafter, mostly on MU*-type text games. So.. well, nice to meet you all! Sorry for the slightly dry introduction, hopefully I'll get to play with a lot of people hereafter - feel free to address me in or out of character should you meet any of my characters in game ^^ And now on to writing up character profiles... and trying to work out how to get the spoiler tags in my signature to work - oh, there we go. By the way, does anyone happen to know how to change the character pictures in these info-bar thingies I've put in my signature, into something other than their posing in their underwear? Or why Forra's is for some reason displaying weeks out of date statistics (he's almost lancer rank 20 by now)?
