Unless you've already hit 50 with her, which represents quite a bit of investment, I'd actually recommend starting with a brand new character. If you've already invested in her heavily (hit 50, got gear, have vanity/glamour, etc.) then it shouldn't be a problem to reboot her, fantasia and all. Depending on how memorable said introduction was, you may get a few raised eyebrows here and there, but likely no more than that.

I don't know how much or how well I can contribute, seeing as how I RP as Immortal Flames and that organization is more analogous to the Maelstrom than to the Yellowjackets (closest thing in Ul'dah to the jacks are the Brass Blades; Jacks and Blades are the coppers, Flames and Storms are the soldiers), but seeing as how I was asked in a PM to do so, I'll try my best. First and foremost, I reiterate everything Erik said. You should have a leader-type character, if not a leader, who embodies the living ideal of the organization. You need to be inclusive. You need to have some semblance of structure, and an "official" LS helps a lot with this. Do not assert authority or make arrests or anything of that nature without OoCly checking with the other person first (I didn't check one time when I was assisting others with their arrest, and that got rolled back; I checked the only time I personally made an arrest, and it went smoothly). And yes, RPing as an authority figure will catch you a lot of flak, undeserved or otherwise. Personal feedback that I haven't seen given yet: 1. One of my biggest concerns when RPing as an authority is... when I'm IC, when is my character on duty? When is my character off-duty? When my character is off-duty, how much authority do they have? Can they act on an incident, or not? More often than not, I find myself making these decisions and judgments on a case-by-case basis. 2. Be very, very careful OoC when eavesdropping IC. Not everyone keeps what they believe should remain private conversations to /party and /tell, and their style and preference may have them in /say and /emote instead. There's potential there for drama, rollbacks, etc.

Concerns: 1. I had to escort a survey team last week, resulting in a grueling night shift that kept me away from roughly 6pm PST 'til 8am PST the next morning. This upcoming week, starting Thursday and possibly working over the weekend, I may have to work extra and/or night shifts again. tl;dr: I might not be available at the scheduled 8:30pm Central for this event. I will be finding out tomorrow what my schedule looks like for Saturday. 2. How / in what way are the heroes in Prong 1 going to (be able to) break away from fighting voidsent to locate and track down a Black Mage? Are they going to wait 'til one party clears away their voidsent, then send that party off to investigate? 3. Given that the Brass Blades are on alert, you might want to plot a route that keeps as clear of them as possible, Askier. Same will have to go for Flames/Sultansworn if that sketch/information gets passed along to them as well. And wear a hood or something. 4. @ExKage: You and I should probably get together as Kage and Haruko to exchange information at some point before Saturday, as the former has info on Epinoch and the latter has info on Melkire. EDIT: 5. Does anyone find any fault with / reason to object to a swarm of voidsent outside the Gate of Thal? The last time around. we discussed poisoning NPCs in a brainstorming thread, and people still got upset over that. I'd like to check with everyone and see how people feel about something on this scale. Likewise for an assassination attempt on the Sultana.

I've always been confused as to why it'd been called "The Immortal Flames LS" when it encompasses more than just that particular branch of service. This occasionally causes some issues when said branches work at cross-purposes. I know Coatleque put together an LS specifically for Sultansworn (with high-ranking Flames getting pearls for ease of coordination). Could we not do the same for each service, then have an umbrella LS that not only encompasses all of them but also brings in inspectors/private investigators like Gaspard?
