So, between this sight and the Wiki, I'm having a strange issue. Whenever I'm navigating the website, I get constant downloads of various different WinRAR's. For example, when creating this thread, it attempted to download 'newthread.gz' While navigating the wiki, it constantly attempts to download 'Index.gz' None of these have viruses, but having to cancel each time I want to move pages is getting personally frustrating. I'm running Google Chrome, and I have basic anti-virus/anti-spyware running on my PC. No other sight gives me this issue.

ah, it's unfortunate that you require an FC invite. I'd offer to have A'rytiss be somewhat related to your clan if you'd like, but I'm happily-FC'd :>
-
thanks! I freaked out a ton when it happened.

OK... I -think- I fixed it! Could someone check for me? I went in, found the revision history via 'edit', and switched mine off via the undo button. I am really sorry for the trouble!!! x/////////x

Ok, so, I was trying to create a page on the Wiki, and I accidentally deleted someone elses Wiki while using theirs as a template (was trying to find where I messed up on mine at, then idiotically copy-pasted into his window) http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Azri%27a_Cobalt This is supposed to be for the character Azri Cobalt, and I just... I completely messed up and pasted mine onto his, and I need to fix it somehow, but I don't have his information to put back in there proper. Can someone please help?

So, I've had a rule of thumb for all of my characters whenever I play a Roleplay character in an MMORPG. And that rule, is that I only ever take an FC/Guild invite that my character would like ICly, that also meets my own OoC approval. As an RP'er, I've found this is actually a lot more difficult than it seems to be. People's drive to recruit ICly is often not as powerful as it is in the OoC shouts, blind invites, and general Free Party messages you see around everywhere. More often than not, the subject of Free Companies is downplayed solely to an OoC facet, and the recruitment in general is often left untouched. So, I'm posing a question - do you think it's a worthwhile thing to look for an IC FC ICly, even though the character does not actively seek one? Or do you think I should just find an OoC FC that I can comfortably raid in while continuing to RP?

I'll offer A'rytiss Edar up for either side. He'll heal people in the background, so if Spies need a healer - they can easily lure/trick him to heal people. He's very gullible. :> He'd likewise be able to easily be on the 'hero' side, so either way you need people for. Just put me as a float and we'll RP it later. :3

I came from a non-RP server originally, and I'd often crack jokes when I entered with a standard greeting - "Greetings. I will be your Warrior-tank today. Please do not mind if I froth at the mouth, as that is oft the best way to handle tanking. Now then, if everyone's ready? /yell BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!" :3 It gets a few giggles here and there.

I'm sure he could randomly find/ask him while wandering ul'dah! I'll make sure to write your name down ^^
-
that'd be fine, A'rytiss would welcome the friendship! :3
-
He will be! But right now he promised to stay in Ul'dah so he doesn't wind up in a desert again.

Hello! I'm still a bit new to the server (Transferred over 2 weeks ago, actually!) and I have a character currently in Ul'dah. One of the biggest things I have a hard time with is finding IC-work, though. My character isn't particularly skilled in anything save healing and using a sword (Not a paladin, I basically treat him as Conjurer + Gladiator.) However, he's enthusiastic, and he might get himself into some trouble depending on what the job is. I'd love it if there were any people that had available IC work for such a character, as it'd help get him introduced to more people. Thank you!

Looking for Tea Tavern Employees and/or Bards/Songsters/etc.

One of A'rytiss's weaknesses is that he can't read, so I'd go the flier path. :3 -

A'rytiss might be a good one, once he's free from obligation in Ul'dah. :3 would love to go there ICly if you think there'd be a way for word to reach him that you are seeking employees. -
This character is currently looking for work in the Ul'dah area, if anyone would like to meet for IC-RP. The type of work doesn't matter - he'll try to do it regardless, with varying degrees of success.

Gilgamesh and Balmung are the two RP servers. However, I personally have had a lot more successful RP scenes since I moved to Balmung. I've met a lot more amazing RP'ers - from Short, rapid-fire /say posts, to long full flowing Para-posters. This wasn't so much the case on Gilgamesh. People are more secluded in their cliques from my experience, because the RP community is substanially smaller. The places like the adventurer's guilds are hit-or-miss, depending on when you sign in and the traffic that day. I would have weeks where I tried to find people to RP with in Limsa or Ul'dah on Gilgamesh and not have any luck, eventually returning to my own circle of friends for RP. This is not to say Gilgamesh is bad RP. I just think Balmung has more opportunities.

Interestingly enough, After ThursdaY (Once the servers are back up), A'rytiss will be in Gridania for IC reasons. Though he'll probably be in the South Shroud / Quarrymill the most, he can return to Gridania on occassion. :3

I. Basic Info Characters:A'rytiss Edar Primary character:A'rytis Edar Linkshells: 1.Winds of Aurora 2. FateRP (Still have slots open!) Primary RP linkshell: Noneas of now, he tends to use any that will call for him. [*] II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): My RP 'amount' will often change. I try to reflect what my partner at the time reflects – if you are doing large, flowing Paragraphs, I will in turn match you. If you want rapid-fire, /say posts, I will likewise match that. I am a traditional Para-RP'er from forums, so that tends to be my biased when we first meet, but never be afraid to say if you need me to do a different type, or WANT a different type. Views on RP combat and injuries: I personally take injuries seriously. If you injure my character, it's going to hurt him for a while – though when it comes to healing, my healer must direct how the wound is directed. So long as you give me good descriptions of injuries, I can RP them extremely well. Views on IC romance: IC romance is something that, yes, I am sure A'rytiss will one day persue. The character, though, is a bit daft, and probably wouldn't pick up on a lot of clues. I approach the subject maturely, and I don't want to rush my character into something. Basically, if you're serious about it, and you're likewise willing to work for it and put in for it, the character will probably have an interest in you. If you ask me about things like ERP, well, I find that's something reserved for someone I trust. I've been approached by people like that before - and more often than not, I turn them down, because I don't want my character to be a quick lay-and-drop. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Always fun if you have a family member! It's great to have that pre-existing connection, because it allows you to do further RP from that. Views on lore: Lore is flexibile. If you know how to operate within it, and write a story that makes sense, I appreciate it. However, at the same time, A'rytiss is a bit daft to the world around him. We're all here to write stories and have fun together. Whatever story you have is welcomed and will be respected. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I tend to use all forms of communciation. Linkshells must have RP'd a linkshell being given to a character. I use /em to write emotes that include words that are said and I use /s's to include words that are emoted. Always with a clear indication between the two. [*]III. Other Info Country:U.S.A. Looking for a Garlean who might be in Mor'Dhona
A'rytiss Edar replied to A'rytiss Edar's topic in Player Directory
That will work, I believe that is 5:00 EST? Maybe 6:00, I'll review it and I'll be around at that time. Until then, this time period can be considered the time period it would take A'rytiss to walk there. -
Looking for a Garlean who might be in Mor'Dhona
A'rytiss Edar replied to A'rytiss Edar's topic in Player Directory
That would be great. If you let me know when you'll be around, I'm just running some EX primals before the reset~ :3 -
So, interestingly, my character has no sense of direction. He was told to go East at Black Brush, and wound up going north. Following the trails, he wound up... well, you guessed it - at a Garlean fortress. I'd love to see some roleplay with a Garlean, if anyone's available today, I can freeze my IC character here. :3 Regardless, please let me know~ A'rytiss traveled far that day. He had moved from Ul'dah by foot, traveling to Black Brush, "It's North from Black Bone, then East at Dry Brush?" He'd say, spotting track that lead northward, he'd wiggle his ears happily, stepping onto the train tracks and walking along it. Coming to the mouth of a cave at the stop of the stairs, he'd grin happily, until he finally emerged from the other side at Camp Blue Frog, "This place is really... dark, but I don't see a tree in sight..." He'd mumble, lookign around, "Do you think we'll be there soon, Sage?" The Chocobo flutters its wings happily, continuing its long track with A'rytiss. "I hope so." he'd finally mumble, smiling softly. A'rytiss's step brings him steadily to walking on a metal bridge. In the distance, electrical pulses from pillars jutting from the Garlean compound in Mor Dhona of Castrum Centri looms ominously. He tilts his head, ear twitching as he looked back to his companion, Sage, "I don't remember this place while riding on the Porter to get to Ul'dah originally." He'd say softly, eyes coming back to the compound.
