[align=justify]Personal Profile Character Name: Bumo Dalumo Gender: Male Race: Plainsfolk Lalafell Domestic Profile Civil Status: Resident Place of Residence: Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks Occupation: Armorer Social Profile Inspired by events in his youth and motivated by a need to protect others, Bumo Dalumo sought a greater purpose to his life than becoming one of the fishers or farmers of his remote island home. Bumo became the first Lalafell of his clan in recent memory to sail north of the Rhotano Sea, where he was picked up by a passing merchant vessel bound for Limsa Lominsa. Bumo settled in and began taking adventuring jobs, but soon turned his focus to metalwork after seeing the danger adventurers put themselves in. Hoping to mitigate their risk, he's taken a permanent position as an armorer at Naldiq & Vymelli's. Bumo grew up on a sequestered tropical island inhabited only by tribal Lalafell and had limited prior dealings with other civilized races, so he still finds himself adjusting to the city and its assorted peoples and customs. That said, Bumo is pleasantly social and friendly to everyone he meets. In conversation, he does have a quirk of sometimes referring to himself in the third person, and common turns of phrase and colloquialisms may go over his head. Meta Profile I'm usually on in the evenings (PST) and weekends. Bumo has a reason to be in most places outside of Limsa ICly--typically something armor-related!--so if you see me out and about in Eorzea don't hesitate to walk up. The Drowning Wench seems like the easiest hotspot because it's the central location in Limsa, and people need to pass through it to get to most places on the upper deck. If you're trying to establish a set location for RP in Limsa Lominsa, it's probably best to have it somewhere visible. This is one of the reasons why I think the Quicksand has so many roleplayers, not just because it's a tavern atmosphere but because people need to go there. If you're a new player--or just a new roleplayer--you don't really want to hunt people down for RP, so finding it in an area where the game makes you go for quests and such makes it easier. The Missing Member wouldn't work too well because it's so out of the way that people passing through might never notice it. The Astalicia and Fisherman's Bottom seem more like places you'd schedule some RP to happen, rather than places you'd go in search of finding other roleplayers. The Aftcastle could work too, I suppose, but the Drowning Wench has better atmosphere.

I. Basic Info Characters: Bumo Dalumo Primary character: Bumo Dalumo Linkshells: Primary RP linkshell: II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Heavy. Whenever possible I prefer to stay in character. Views on RP combat and injuries: Bumo's driving motivation in life is to prevent people from harm, so while I am not completely against engaging in RP combat, it would have to be under extremely dire circumstances; even then, Bumo would be liable to pull his punches. Minor injuries with no lasting consequences are fair game, but anything that would disfigure or otherwise maim my character are things I want to discuss first. Bumo already has one giant scar, I'd like to have a say in whether he gets another! Views on IC romance: If it happens, it happens, but it's the furthest thing from Bumo's mind. He's never even stopped to consider romantic endeavors. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Because of Bumo's story it would be difficult to encounter any familial relations or old friends on Vylbrand, Aldenard, or any other upcoming places in the future. It's not in the realm of impossibility, but if someone would like to RP a family member or someone Bumo might know from his past, it should be discussed first. Bumo does have quite a few siblings, though... Views on lore: I adhere as closely as possible to the lore. I try to remain knowledgeable about the goings-on in canon as it applies to Bumo; I am comfortable working within a framework and try not to stretch any boundaries of the lore, both for my own feelings about it as well as to respect other RPers. That said, I'm not one to be a 'lore lawyer' when RPing (either IC or OOC to the player), but IC you may expect some /doubt from Bumo if what your character says goes against what he believes to be true. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): If I am speaking normally in /say, it's in character unless I'm speaking directly to one person or a group of non-RPers in an area where there is confirmed no other RP going on, so as not to break others' immersion. If I am in an area where people are roleplaying and I need to communicate something OOC in /say--that I can't send a /tell for, for whatever reason--I'll use parentheticals. OOC or IC in linkshells depends on the linkshell. I'll adhere to whatever the channel's rule is. III. Hello, everyone! I've lurked this forum for awhile and finally got around to registering! I've only recently returned to the game--as it seems many people are doing since the new updates and the free weekend--and I'm looking for more people to RP with on Balmung. I used to RP with a small group of great people, but sadly some of those people no longer play, and I never got to RP as much as I would've liked with that group because of schedules. I'm mainly on in the evenings (Pacific time) and weekends, so finding some night owls to hang out with would be cool. My character, Bumo Dalumo, is an immigrant Lominsan, armorer by profession, so I'm most often found hanging around that stone-hewn port city. Looking forward to meeting some new RP friends, and maybe finding a new FC!
