That's ok! -hugs- I hope all goes well with you and her!
-
-petpetpet- That's ok! I'm sorry you don't like it as much, but I'd be glad to help you figure out a name that flows better with the koo if you were set on that tribe and wanted to change the rest of her name
-
I don't think it's awful (though most miqo'te names are pretty odd pronounciation wise to us anyway), I think it's pretty... koo'. B)

I can't find a video or link with the quest dialogue for the life of me for the Threat of Perplexity THM quest. Mainly, I want the dialogue that speaks about the chapter of Thaumaturgy: the yawning abyss, but can't find it anywhere and I don't really want to go through the whole questline again ;; Thanks for any help!

basically the K tribe names would be pronounced with the proper Koo, anything else would not be the tribe at all. So like, since it's a short Koo, a name like K'yaki would be KooYAkee, something like that. The tribal pronunciation can be dropped between friends, where that miqo'te's name would just be Yakee. Just the same as how X'vett would be She-vett, not ex-vett I hope that helped

neat thing I noticed about keeper males!
James Rhymes replied to James Rhymes's topic in RP Discussion
Update because I noticed something today with the quests Seems that when referring to a keeper of the moon male, you would say his full name to another person, but when directly referring to him, it would be ok to just say his first name! Like "Have you seen Zhai'a Nelhah?" or "Zhai'a, glad you're here!" -

Oh thanks so much! I'll definitely look at the video. Even if he's only mentioned by name once it was still his full name, so maybe my theory has some backing since it's not only 1 place I've seen it so far -

I. Basic Info Characters:Sarantsatsr Qalli, Naoh'ra Ohndai, B'ruh Tia, Moengeim Nachtuwilwyn Primary character:Sarantsatsr Qalli and Naoh'ra Ohndai are my two main characters Linkshells:None Primary RP linkshell:None [*] II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): I am medium right now, but looking forward to doing more story based RP, or finding partners who can RP with me more often than I can find now where we can plot complex stories and see our characters develop! Views on RP combat and injuries: I'm totally fine with combat RP and my characters being severely injured (so long as it's discussed first if it will greatly impair them for the rest of their life), I've had Naoh'ra's leg chopped clean off, with previous discussion! So long as the fight between the characters is fair and no god modding, I'm down! Views on IC romance: Most of my characters have turned out to be romantics, but I can't force ships unfortunately. If the character takes interest then I'm totally down for romance RPs! If not, then there's not much I can do other than see where they go and how feelings develop Just talk to me ooc! Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I love platonic RP, and general plotting. I am always open for walk ups and odd situations, or just general chilling and hanging out as well! Whatever the characters feel like doing Views on lore: I do follow the lore where it is very obviously mentioned, however, breaking the lore can be done with me so long as it makes sense! There are possibilities to do things, but I can't accept 'they just are' or 'they just did it' with no reasoning behind it. If it makes sense, hell yeah let's do it! I'll even help you work around certain things and plot if needed Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I'm good with any chat functions, though I typically do not RP through /tell or things like that. I write in either party chat, say, or emotes! [*] III. Other Info Country:Canada Timezone:Mountain? Contact info:You can reach me at my blog www.rage-against-the-machinists.tumblr.com, or by skype (just ask me for this one!) BLM questline minor spoilers below, won't go into too much detail other than 1 characters name, but no plot points. So while doing the BLM 50+ quests, I noticed that one of the main NPC's who is a keeper male was never referred to as just his first name, Zhai'a, but instead as his full Zhai'a Nelhah! Lalai always referred to him with the first and last name, and I got to thinking 'what if that's how all keeper men are referred to as, with first and last names' and it would make sense. The fact that their names are constructed with their mothers full name, with a prefex at the end of the first to differentiate between sons, it would make sense that when others speak of them/get their attention (unless they were really close and it would be obvious who this person was referring to) it would be more clear to say their full name. Referring to him simple as Zhai'a is just saying first son of Zhai-- who? Gamduhla? Yandii? Who Zhai is such a common name! However when you say Zhai'a Nelhah, there is no mistaking he is the first son of Zhai Nelhah! I just thought it stood out to me how Lalai never only referred to Zhai'a as just Zhai'a, but instead by his full name Zhai'a Nelhah! Feel free to dispute, it was just a loose observation and thought, also there aren't many keeper NPC's to go on (that I remember having names, I know there was the companion in the wanderer's palace HM quest, and the informant (I think) for the gold saucer but I can't remember if they were given names.). So yeah! Thought I would share that little finding, and would love to hear more, or just get more information around this topic that's either confirming this is a thing, or disputing it as something not done. Thanks!

A LS for the Qalli Au Ra tribe, to find RP, create backstory and relationships between characters of the Qalli tribe Here we can discuss, headcanon, develop characters and find RP/make events with each other! Feel free to message me here, through a private chat, on tumblr at www.wanderers-minuet.tumblr.com, or in game through /tell sarantsatsr qalli for an invite! If you have questions, feel free to ask!

Yes thanks so much for the link! Very helpful!

Red being associated with anger or evil tends to be a western human trope. In my mind, for Keepers, Blood Moons would be associated with life, fertility, and power. Keepers, being a culture focused heavily on hunting, might not view the color of blood as anything negative, but as something bright and full of life. Oh definitely a good point, thank you!

I'm going to go back and rewrite a whole lot, thanks again to both of you for bringing up, linking and correcting a few things with some lore I missed/didn't remember I appreciate it a whole lot!
-
Oh neat, I must have misunderstood (I've collaborated with others as well) TY for bringing that up
-
Oh that's fine, the quest name helps because I think I remember there was a lot of cutscenes, so I can just go rewatch them and stuff! It's a big help and I think I'll go watch those again and reform that part of the headcanons to something that fits with the bit of lore we were actually given
-
Oh TY for the link, I totally forgot about that quest ;; (I have a super bad memory apologies!)

Ok so I’ve been RPing miqo’te for a year seeker and keeper and I have some quick headcanons. —- I have this feeling that in Miqo’te society, it would be common to be polyamourous, however definitely not unheard of to be monogymous. Like in our society it’s common to be in a relationship with only one person, with miqo’te they’d share the opposite view. It’s convienient to be poly, bc of breeding rights (esp in Seekers), and it just makes more sense not to limit to one person because there are so little men in society that not sharing them would mean less children and ultimately, smaller families, tribes, and less chance for the race as a whole to continue. —- Forehead boops! Knocking foreheads with friends, family, lovers, challengers and others to show your respect, trust and love for them. Various different ways to do it as well as different meanings for each! A short knock, a quick ‘hello friend!’. A press of foreheads with eyes closed, ‘I respect you’, and alternatively placing your hand on the back of the others neck to draw them in would mean the same but used more between challengers before a fight for a Nunh position, oft saying ‘I respect you, good luck, and LOOK I had the chance to hurt you being this close but I want this fair, and it’s going to be fair good luck.’ Elongated booping like just resting your heads together a long time shows affection, scent marks, and is just really nice. Continuing with the forehead, a HUGE insult would be like, slapping, flicking and other hits to the forehead. It’s like flipping someone off or invading sacred space. It’s a huge fuck you and wouldn’t be taken lightly unless between friends and sibblings. — Paint! More prominent in Keepers, painting up your mate before you mate with them for luck, fertility, bonding and affection. Typically painting scenes of nature such as from the sky, or favoured plants and animals. After mating, both partners would wash each other off, and then paint each others faces for continued blessings from Menphina. Alternatively, perhaps, Seekers of the Sun would adopt this as a fertility practice before Nunh breeding, where the woman would paint her chosen Nunh with sun’s in their tribes colours! This promotes trust and bonding, as well as the belief that it really will help with conception. — Nunh’s I have a feeling that one of the Nunh’s jobs would be to watch his children while the mothers are out hunting, teaching or anything else that would occupy their time and take them away from the children, especially babies. Also, it is NOT the nunh’s job to choose his mates, the women choose their Nunh in the tribe – typically one they are comfortable with or who impressed the most, and go to him to set a time to breed. This is then announced to the tribe, they hold a celebration and the Nunh goes to hunt something down for the celebration to show he is still fit for the role! When a Tia challenges a Nunh of the tribe, they must show they are worthy before even fighting him. They must hunt, spread territory, and be the strongest or show they are the strongest/smartest out of the other Tia in the tribe before even challenging the Nunh. After the challenge has been made before the whole tribe, having the support of at least ONE woman, and providing a feast for the entire tribe they will set a day and fight at noon. This is a FAIR fight, and any Tia who catches a Nunh off guard, fights unfairly, or otherwise breaks the rule, they would not be considered and often shunned. Should anyone get pregnant, or get someone pregnant who was not in the tribe, both partners and child would be shunned and often removed from the tribe. Especially bad if this is a Nunh breeding with anyone outside of the tribe, as their role is to provide the TRIBE, not others, with top notch, healthy and strong children. Being Nunh is more than just breeding, and definitely NOT leading the tribe. It is an honour and privilege to pass on your linage. I have another Nunh thing to add about that post for cultural headcanons! I have a feeling that the Nunh would have to be there for the birthing, but not only that, HELP his mate give birth. Sure there are midwives but he’d have to be the one to hold the babies head and gently pull the child out while she pushes, while also being emotional support. I think that it would be incredibly insulting if he wasn’t there for the birthing. After the birthing is done and the baby is cleaned and cord cut, the sex would be announced to the tribe and there would be a BIG celebration for the new life! I mean big. There would be a time mid day, I think, where the two (mate and her chosen Nunh) would announce the child’s name, and also ask for blessing from Azeyma before it’s official. On the other hand, in the event a child be lost, there would be great mourning throughout the tribe and a time of comfort for the parents who lost. I think there would also be great fear, thinking that Azeyma was not pleased with the coupling and that couple should not attempt another child. Ever. Perhaps even that the Nunh himself was not fit (especially if that was his first child), and he be removed from the position and back to being a Tia. – In Keepers of the Moon men are in far fewer numbers than in their Seeker counterparts, and the males often leave their families in search of starting their own. I have a feeling Keepers are more monogymous than Seekers are, simply because settling down with someone is attractive when you’re in such small groups as it is (comparatively speaking). Women are highly respected and cherished, as mothers, sisters, and daughters. I see mixed feelings between male Keepers about their names, how they have no real identity of their own by taking their mothers full name with only a prefex at the end of her first name to show which son they are. I can see it being a mixed feeling with the characters as well, where some would be honoured to carry their mothers name, while others would hate it with a passion. Phases of the moon may affect Keepers in their daily activity, such as hunting or foods they eat, as well as menstrual cycles possibly! (like if a woman got her period on a full moon it was a good sign, or bad!). Perhaps in the different phases of the moon they would hunt certain things, or cook a certain way to please the Goddess. – Solar/Lunar eclipse! I have this headcanon that when a solar eclipse happens, that Keepers and Seekers get together for a big celebration of the Sisters coming together. Perhaps to share stories of the day and night and be in company. The two clans would do the same, putting aside differences and enjoying a feast and sharing stories and hunting techniques. I have a feeling Lunar eclipses would bring fear to Keepers of the moon, since the moon TURNED RED is MENPHINA ANGRY AT US??? I have a feeling they would try to appease her by bringing gifts to loved ones, to her, and doing other things. If you had any to add, feel free! These are just thoughts I've had over my time RPing and though I'd share here as well!

"You kill 'em, we grill 'em." Thaumaturgy roots rest in the art of preparing the dead and giving funeral rites for the Order of Nald'thal. A freezing blizzard to halt corruption; a raging fire to cleanse the corpse; a bolt of lightning to expel the sins of mortal life. We aim to provide a service to all of Eorzea and through that bring peace to the waking, walking life that call this place home. We teach Thaumaturgy, embalming, preform executions for the Grand Companies, host funerals and run IC dungeons. You do not need to be a thaumaturge to join, just have an interest and respect for the dead, death, and dying and want to assist Eorzea in ways many shy from. We are looking for embalmers, students, reception, security, grave diggers, executioners, funeral directors and pretty well any other walk of life! Lore and RP heavy, we aim to plot, develop and all around have a good time! Reply here or message me in game, or through our guildwork site linked on the side. Thanks so much!

The company is up and waiting for signatures! message me here or in game for details
-
I'm going to start this up tomorrow after maintenance!
-
Oh nice! I won't be able to make the company until tomorrow (24 hour wait to start after getting out of one lol just want to be sure I will have enough people interested before leaving my current company) We could have our characters meet up IC if you'd like and Naoh'ra can give some IC details on things

I have an idea for a FC primarily for RP purposes that I pitched in another thread a short while ago and have come up with a bit more for it! The main focus is hosting a small church/grave yard under the Order of Nald'thal. The small clergy would consist of mainly Thaumaturges, both experienced and students who wish to perfect their art in the path Thaumaturgy originated; to prepare the dead for funeral services. Those who wish to join but are not adept can also take other small jobs around the church, such as book and bone keeping, cleaning, decorating and reception as well as security. The company would also host lessons in Thaumaturgy and embalming, as well as delivering funeral rites to the dead so they may pass into Thal's realm safely. The church would be an ossuary, crypt, embalming place as well as teaching space and hold funerals. It would also house members in private chambers should they need a home, with which they may do as they please with their area. This company will be very lore heavy, friendly to all walks of life and super RP heavy. We will definitely do regular in game things as well, but the main focus will be RP events and interactions between characters! I would love to hear suggestions, answer any questions you have and get this idea rolling! I am still fine tuning the details, but those are definitely left loose so that we can work with everyone's suggestions as well as work it into our characters stories realistically and smoothly! For now I have a LS available so we can all meet up IC and also speak OOC, feel free to message me (Naoh'ra Ohndai) in game and I'll be happy to toss you an invite Looking forward to hearing back from you!

Good luck and have lots of fun with it

I rarely see any T tribe members around balmung tbh, but you can search pages on the wiki for groups that may have written something on the tribe but personally I say go for it and if you encounter others from your tribe ask them if your characters would know each other first before assuming! Some say their tribes split or were very large or a wide range of other things so just asking is a safe way to go about it. I've had characters in the B and X tribes, and everyone has different takes so if you find someone who shares the tribe prefex you want to rp with just /tell and collab with them quick if theyre interested. Some may carry the prefex but not be in a tribe as well
