  1. This sounds like fun, feel free to add my chars if you see them on, and we'll set something up!
  2. hahaha, yea the link's not super obvious.... maybe I'll edit it to make it more so. I'll have to poke around and see what I can find in terms of materials to go on for a Miqo'te folk song (musical materials). With the Beast Tribes its a bit easier, because they have one or two themes that are exclusive to their camp/area + primal music. Totally up for attempting to make something in the FF style, if anyone wants to kind of spitball what kind of instrumentation and style they think their respective races would have for their music. Thanks for the reply!
  3. Thank you, Lekka. That's a high compliment, and definitely what I was trying to go for. Thank you for listening, and for the compliment! @Rila Thank you! I love you too!
  4. Listen Here: Sylph Lullaby "Deep in the shroud Safe from the storm Little ones sleep In Lord Ramuh’s arms Swift may they grow And safe may they stay As These Ones watch over Until they awake Little ones, These ones eagerly await Looking after, making laughter, having fun Wishes these ones softly sing Of shade and rain to bring those blossoming Into the sun " IC -Thanks to AIM’s aethernet radio system, I’m able to broadcast some of the Beast Tribe folk music I’ve been collecting! This is an arrangement of a song the Sylphs sing to their Podlings as they grow. I hope you enjoy it, and look forward to discovering more fascinating songs from the tribes! OOC- This is the first song in a series called "Songs of the Tribes". It's my attempt to create original music within the style of a pre-existing game. In this case Final Fantasy 14, and more specifically to this song the Sylph/Ramuh Beast Tribe. You could probably also call it Musical Fanart. I'll post more here as I make more, thanks for listening!
  5. I second this motion. It's the way I ended up joining the FC I'm in. A lot of great and helpful players/rp'ers in there.
  6. That does sound like fun, I'll definitely try to find you online. Izzy isn't fond of the snobbery and elitism either, but something I've noticed irl is that there are a lot of people who manage to be good about the big obvious things, they like to think of themselves as not judgmental... They're not going to go "ugh I hate poor people, such lazy, much dumb" but they might do something like, criticize a way of speaking as being "incorrect" when that way of speaking has ties to a minority class race and/or culture. Or they might offer up suggestions to a problem that a poor or disenfranchised person doesn't have access to (potentially injuring the pride of or angering the person they were trying to help). It seems like someone who grew up in the upper class would have a more difficult time teasing out all the ways that their upbringing colored their perceptions, and the kinds of troubles they might have in their relationships with people who didn't might be fun to play out sorry wall of text >.< @Telluride Ty, I will try to be brave and speak up in the LS some time! @Kestrael Do it! @Rila Loveyou<3
  7. And by Roesy, I mostly mean pink with embarrassment. The usual story, not good at approaching people individually, senpai pls notice me, etc. My Characters: Isilrael Geissfyrwyn - Disinherited niece of Byrglaent (wineport's esteemed vintner), Izzy loves people, food, parties, music, fashion, language, and traveling. She's a romantic idealist, which led her to balk under the familial expectations she was born into. Despite being pretty open-minded, Izzy still grew up with a lot of privilege and often unwittingly says and does things which may be insensitive and classist. Currently, Isilrael works at the Artificers Manufacturers and Inventors Company (AIM) as a liaison and trade negotiator to the Beast Tribes. She got into that line of work, because her hobby is collecting Beast Tribe folk songs and music. Pleasant Pheasant - The Fez was forced to retire from the Maelstrom due to the health of his dear granny. Doctors said the dry weather in Ul'dah would be much better for her health, and so that's just where the dutiful Fez took her. He's soft-spoken, cautious, and can be easy to startle or fluster. Though awkward and a bit stiff, he really is an affable fellow. Too soft in fact, to be promoted to a higher field rank. Before becoming the Operations Manager at AIM, he'd been a naval Purchasing Supply and Logistics Specialist for nearly five years. Looking for: Just about anything- past connections, new acquaintances, rp for business reasons, etc. Open to Romance connections (not interested in erp though). Isilrael is bi/pan romantic. Pleasant Pheasant is gay. I'd love to have a male Lala romance connection for Pheasant - he had an unrequited/unspoken crush on Alka Zolka back in Lominsa. If you have a gay male Lala who has a strong personality that would want to wine and dine a gentle giant - please do reply. I'm around most often in the evenings (GMT -6), and don't have a ton of a time so this wouldn't be a huge time investment on anyone's part (and conversely if you want someone who can make a huge time investment, than I'm not a great pick). Thanks if you read this all the way through!
  8. I'm also super shy, and pretty new to RP in general. Luckily, I have my wife who RPs to help (our mains are ic friends, not a couple) and having rolled a couple Roegadyn- the Broken Chairs LS really opened some avenues for me. Feel free to send me a tell in game (sometimes I'm afk, so if I don't answer that's why). My characters are Isilrael Geissfyrwyn and Pleasant Pheasant. Good luck and see you around!
  9. Izzy is Byrglaent's niece (vineyard master in Wineport), and her mother is a Hellsguard with family on the Syndicate in Ul'dah. Having grown up around the laid back citizenry that characterizes a lot of rural/tropical Lominsa, she noticed her uncle and mother's classist attitudes seemed unusual. As she got older she started to rebel against them; especially since their expectations of her were in conflict with her desire to play with the common kids, talk to adventurers, and spend time with the local Goblins. Even though Izzy isn't purposefully classist, she doesn't think about money much. She's never had to go without it, so she takes it for granted. Even after she has a falling out with her family (which only the family knows about, for image sake), all she has to do is introduce herself wherever she is and she can generally get whatever she needs or wants. She's spoiled but doesn't know it. Since the falling out she really thinks she's been slumming it, travelling in a cushy caravan instead of a private airship cabin, or in the nicest suite the Quicksand has to offer instead of one of her family's vacation homes.
  10. MMORPG background: EQ (up to Dungeons of Norrath), EQOA, FFXI, and now FFXIV RP experience: My interactive RP experience is reasonably limited, though I've always written stories for and about my characters. I tried a few Tumblr RPs, but those seem like a lot of really good ideas that devolve into an erp with a two week shelf life. Character ideas/info: For Isilrael Geissfyrwyn, Wineport was a great place to grow up; A land close to her heart, where her parents pride themselves in the Vineyards they cultivate. Assuming she would display the same green thumb as her brothers before her, Isilrael was sent to Gridania to study with the best Botanists Eorzea has to offer. Just when her thumb started showing the beginnings of a Slyphish hue, Isilrael discovered the Adventurer's Guild... How did you learn about the coalition?: Google search helped my RP loving wife to discover Balmung and the Coalition. What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy?: Light to Medium, depending on the environment. There are some scheduling things to work around. Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc): I'm an audio adventurer and student studying psychoacoustics for Immersive Media (VR/AR) at University. The mass consumption of media comprises most of time not spent studying or doing music. My wife and I are both queer, so it would be awesome to find LGBT friendly folks to know/RP with. We're hoping to get to know the community before joining a particular FC, so Linkshell invites connecting RPers would be greatly appreciated!
