A-well~ There seems to be a fair amount of interest, though no one else has suggested any ideas or times, so I'm just going to pick us a combo and we can go from there! WHO: Us! WHAT: Non-Canon RP! WHERE: Skype; Soliloquy Tavern, Pre-Bahamut WHEN: Sunday January 27th, 8:00 PM EST WHY: Fun! Testing out new characters! Making acquaintances! Yes, it's tavern rp, which I know some people have an aversion to, but it's a place to start. Doesn't mean we have to stay there : P. For those who are not familiar, Soliloquy Tavern is a player created pub/performance house in Limsa Lominsa similar to the Mineral Concern, but without all the whores : D! Hopefully this will be an ongoing thing, so if you can't show up right at 8, don't be afraid to show up anyway. If you want to participate, poke me (or anyone else you may know who's in the chat) on Skype, DreadPirateXen, and I'll add you to the convo.

"I think those questions are better left for later, don't y-" Xenedra halts mid sentence and blinks as Myllor shifts her aside by the shoulders. A quick glance behind clarifies why and she grins at Myllor in appreciation. "She's... new." She wanders over to help up the two fallen members of her party, though her ears, if one would notice such a thing, are conspicuously trained backward toward Myllor's conversation with "Mtoto." Curious... After helping the two to their feet, she catches Endemerrin's attention and nods him over to her. "Looks like we'll need to lay some ground rules for the kiddies. Including no running ahead, hmmm~?" She jabs him in the shoulder with a a finger... the right shoulder.

At 13 Xenedra would be fairly developed for a girl of that age, already jaded, with an aloof or a sultry look to her. Her hair would be sort of like the do in my icon, long and wavy or in an up-do. Feel free to tone whatever down if you're going for an over-all more innocent feel with your circle. : )

A bunch of us are already in a Skype conversation chatting silly things at each other daily, so I thought why not take a night to actually RP? I personally feel like there are a bunch of people I've been getting to know OOC, but have little to no contact with IC and I would like to remedy this! We could make it a canon rp, probably the easier way to do this would be to place it before the time skip timeline-wise, OR we could make it non-canon and then all options become a bit more open. A non-canon session would give newer members a chance to wet their feet on their characters if they haven't had a chance yet, without setting anything in stone, while a canon session could establish actual character ties to use later. I'm up for either~ There are also a number of scenarios we could go with. We could run an adventuring mission, we could all random meet on a ferry or, of course, the ever popular fall-back: tavern RP : P. And the list goes on, so if you have a better idea, please suggest! As for a day, I'd suggest a night on the weekend, just to make it easier for people to attend without scheduling around each other. Hey dewds. If you guys have any friends that don't frequent the RPC much but would probably like in on the tarot project, please point them in the direction of this post. It'd be great to get the set really filled out!

Riding on Mtoto's coat tails.. or rather with them, as this will be a collaboration... Some of us in the skype chat thought it'd be fun to try and do a tarot card set for the RPC. This opens up a bunch more slots for people to fill, so maybe we can get closer to getting everyone who wants a card in : P ALSO, if you're interested in contributing to the art side of things, like I said, this will be a collaborative effort. Once we have the final list, we can hand out characters to those willing to assist~ If you would be willing to help draw the characters for the cards please post in this thread. As of 2/21/2013 we have filled up the major arcana! However, there are still plenty of cards left in the minor arcana. If you would like your character to be part of this project, we will be accepting card requests up until each and every last card is full. It's our goal to fill up a whole deck. Also if you would like to be included, please submit a request for only your MAIN character. We'll do our best to make sure everyone gets a card they're pleased with. Pleeease pick your card based on the meaning and not on the pretty pictures you find : P. Also please keep in mind, even if you don't get a big important name card, you're still likely to get a fabulous piece of art of your character, free of charge. The number cards are just as important as the major arcana, so don't feel jipped! One might fit your character very well. Bottom line, please try to be understanding with us as we iron out the who's-who of this tarot set : P. If you would like to request a specific card for your character please PM the request to me! Xenedra's ears flick forward at the familiar voice of the would-be road kill, her eyes widen, and her jaw drops with the faintest of gasps. With a squeel, she vaults at Myllor, fully intending to hug the breath from him. "Myllor~! We thought you were dead! When you didn't show up with the rest of us..!" She squeels again, squeezing tightly enough to pop the man's head off his neck and sing-songs out happily, tears threatening, "Gods, I'm so glad you're ok~ ...What ARE you wearing?"

Xenedra catches up shortly after and easily slows her pace without all the mess and hullabaloo of the over-excited monk. "Killing people today, are we, darling?" She smirks at Endemerrin and glances briefly at the haori-wrapped warrior. "Apologies, he's just a liiiittle excited." --But wait. That goofy up-swept hair was awfully familiar... She turns her full attention back on the man that Endmerrin tried to run over, head tilted and brows knit ever so slightly in curiosity. Whilst peering his mostly covered face, she presses gently, "No hard feelings... yes?"

Xenedra forks a hand through her hair with a sigh and visually takes in the distance between herself and the rest of the crew. She flicks her shoulder and reaches behind her as the bow shifts forward, then plucks a certain set of notes off the attached harp. Those close-by are enveloped in blue swirls of notes and will feel perhaps lighter or more energized. "I promise he's not actually crazy. Let's keep up, mm?" With that, she takes up jogging after Endemerrin at a swift song enhanced pace, nearly comparable to the monk's.

So friendly still Not all of the art in his thread is "plagiarized" and summing up all of his work as such because of this recent image is wholey unfair. I'm not suggesting we delete your comments, just move them, as Kylin suggested. Edit: like so.

You're welcome to feel however you like about how people can improve themselves, in fact, it's likely (lawl) different from person to person. My biggest issue here is that you were faaairly rude about it. IMO we ought to take this discussion off Mtoto's art thread starting with that transformed picture so that the thread becomes just his art again. I don't really have much more to say on the topic, myself, though. I'm more than happy to agree to disagree.

You don't need to apologize for borrowing a pose and an outfit from an outside source for FANART. It's obvious that he did not trace the work, simply copied it and he made no move to hide it either, going so far as to reference the pose for his next piece as well. There are, frankly, HUNDREDS of better ways to suggest to someone that maybe they ought to give a different outfit or pose a try or even to ask if maybe they referenced something in the first place, but you've gone beyond the realm of friendly discussion into malicious belittling. If someone wants to become a better artist then yes, they OUGHT to copy from other places. Not trace, but copy. This is what we do when we draw from real life, is it not? It's the same when we copy a piece of 2d art as well. If you copy a GOOD work it will help you understand a lot about translating an outfit into 2d, in even the smallest things, like noticing how a pair of pants puckers under the hem of a shirt. If someone wants to HELP someone become a better artist, putting them down is NOT the way to encourage them.

Xenedra passed Hope and the new comer at a lazy pace, padding gracefully by in her gold gilded, black bard's heels. "C'mon, children~ we don't have time to play twenty questions. I'd like to be in and out of the Deepcroft before nightfall." Truth be told, she didn't expect that they'd manage it. The caves and halls down there had an overly winding, seemingly pointless mess of paths before, so now they were likely to be broken and somewhat impassable as well. There was no telling what Bahamut's rage had done to the area until they got down there, though. There were new rumors surrounding the old tunnels now, too. Some "shadowy, malicious, hulking figure" was said to now stalk the deeps. She wasn't sure how anything under ground could appear as anything BUT, until you shined a little bit of light on it, and took the rumors with a grain of salt. Xenedra DID wonder if any of the others, aside from Endemerrin, were aware of the rumors, though, since they'd all happily come skipping along to play. Best not to ask and scare off the skittish one. "Keep up if you're coming~" she sing-songed back over her shoulder. (PS! No, we do not have a posting order, post at will!)

(/follows super long descriptive post with lame short post. /feels no remorse ) "Don't pick on the shy one while we're still in short range of the city! She'll run away!" Xenedra admonished, whilst bopping Endemerrin lightly upside the head. "Wait until we're farther out~" She then watches Hope monkey-squirrel swing through the canopy with an eyebrow arched. "What'd he raise her on, sugar cane?"

Having posed her questions just as most, if not all, of the others came within earshot (just to be clear : P), Xenedra pouts slightly at the lack of answer, "No one knows? Ah well, why do the Gridanians do anything. I bet the elementals told them to." Glancing around, she considers, "Is this even the same path exactly? Or~" she adds sarcastically, "I heard there were a lot of geographic changes. Maybe that's why it's different~ Sooomeone should really work on updating the maps around here, doncha think~?"

"Fiiinally," Xenedra huffs, standing and shouldering her bag and bow. "I hope you lot have everything you need 'cause we're not coming back until we're done~" she calls back over her shoulder in a sing-song voice as she exits the adventurers' guild. Not waiting to see if any of them follow on her heals, she heads directly down toward the eastern gate. She pouts as she surveys the area with old eyes. "I miss the bridge. I wonder why they filled all that in."
