I haven't answered to one of these thingies yet either, but Xenedra finally doesn't fall exactly under a category, so I figured I'd ramble a little: Xenedra. Likes. Men. A lot. Whether it's as a sexual partner or for simple conversation, she generally finds the company of men superior to that of women. She finds most women to be too shallow, or silly, or stuck up for her to get along with, but ALSO realizes that she can be all of these things and would probably annoy herself if there were two of her. She accepts her hypocrisy fully! Men don't bicker about silly woman things and she appreciates this. At least half the time they're likely to be nicer to her because she is an attractive female and not only does she appreciates this, but she uses it to her advantage! HOWEVER! There have been cases where she is fond enough of a woman where she might consider sleeping with them for a bit of fun. In general, she uses sex as a tool for pleasure instead of a means of lovey-dovey intimacy. Thusly, women (and transgendered, etc, etc) are not completely ruled out of her "sure, I'd hit it" equation and she has no problem with flirting with them publicly as well. Race is also not a factor in her choices for a partner, though she does tend to lean toward Hyur and Elezen for purely aesthetic reasons. Still, I would list her as heterosexual because she actively seeks out male partners, but not female ones.

Personally, if they make an official RP server which is not Balmung and we're not allowed to transfer immediately, I'm going to sit and wait. I've put entirely too much time until my current character, including near completion of a relic weapon, and I'm not dumping all that work. This is, of course, with Yoshi-P's statement of "you will not be able to transfer immediately," in mind. This leads me to believe I'll be able to transfer eventually and I'm totally fine with waiting if I get to keep my character : P. It kind of just makes sense that they'd make people wait to transfer anyway, until everything settles down. On the flip side, if someone doesn't have a lot of progression in their character, or they're starting fresh, I can see why they might just jump to the RP server. Why wait?

Just echoing Tyonis's post: some groups do choose to run a story arc that steps outside the realm of lore currently offered by the game itself. While outside groups can't necessarily say "NO! THIS IS WRONG D:!" if you choose to make your plot public, they can choose to ignore your story arc. Another, kinder way to remove one's self from an awkward lore-clash rp situation is simply to have your character think that they person telling them about lore breaking happenings is a nut-job. Crazier than a sack of coeurls. Flipped like a flap-jack. I say all this, but don't be afraid to create something new if it's reasonable. There's a fi-i-i-i-ine line between inventive and crazy. For example: my character was once given a crystal that makes different noises when you hold it, based in the emotions you're feeling. Is it lore breaking? Probably. Does it actually effect game cannon in any way? Not really and it does make for amusing shenanigans. Ultimately if you're with a group that is not ok with lore-breaking and you are, or vice-versa, maybe you need to find another group : P.

It's extreeemely common for people to make up their own plots. That's part of why people join LSs, imo. As a group, linkshells often create their own story arcs. As a rule of thumb, most groups (just like in creating a character) try and keep their plots within the lore of the game and it's really not as hard as it may seem. Need a shadowy organization to plague you during you story arc? Make one up! As long as it doesn't challenge lore, who cares?

I was informed by Aysun, I believe, that you had no intention of remaining a part of this community, or, in fact, even staying on the Balmung (or whatever it will be later) server. As Rhostel said, this is a project for the community and if you're not part of it, you don't get a card : P. On a side note, I've heard some rumors floating around that there's been a bit of pettiness going on involving this project. I will not, of course, name names, or even state the supposed events involved in these rumors, so don't even ask! But I would like to ask if these rumors are in fact true, that those involved please reconsider their opinions/actions. Rhostel summed it up quite well: " We don't need bad blood tainting something that should be unambiguously good fun." This project is about uniting our community, not throwing a temper tantrum and undermining the very spirit of unity. Ultimately I hope these rumors are false and this request was unnecessary : ).

I've been up to my neck in work preparing for phase 2 of the beta test, but I thought it was high time I sent out the forty-fourth Letter from the Producer! The beta test is well underway, and the team is working hard to implement more features while addressing your feedback. All of you gamepad lovers better grab your favorite controller, because we're making final adjustments to the system so you can test it out in phase 2! With 100,000 testers already playing the game, we've had severe server congestion every time we start up the servers, and I apologize for the trouble it's caused. One good thing that's come from this, however, is that we've been able to spot problems that didn't show up in the alpha test, and we've managed to fix them as quickly as possible. These issues wouldn't have been resolved without your help. However, there's still room for improvement in stabilizing the servers. We've implemented measures to alleviate FATE-related performance issues, made adjustments to the frontend server, and addressed server load issues in the starting zones. Bear with us for another weekend of phase 1 testing. As I mentioned earlier, gamepad functionality will be ready for testing in phase 2, which is scheduled to begin in early April. Right before that begins, I'll be making an appearance in another LIVE letter, so don't miss it! We'll also be adding testers to put more pressure on the servers, so if you're not a beta tester yet, you'll have a chance to join in the next phase. Keep in mind that testing the gamepad is the focus of the second phase, so the available content will be mostly the same. In my last letter I briefly mentioned guildhests, which are based on behests from Version 1.0. After reading your feedback, we decided to adjust this system so that you can attempt them at a lower level. Guildhests are scheduled for phase 3, and I hope you'll be ready when they're finished! It wouldn't be fair to keep talking about things like this without showing you some amazing screenshots, so... Here's a look at guildhests. It's an easy way to party up with friends, and can be enjoyed before you tackle dungeons later on, so look forward to group play even in the early levels. Well, it's time for me to get back to work.
