  1. I'll start us off. Does anyone know the name of the theme that plays while the Amal'jaa are summoning Ifrit? Not the battle theme, "Primal Judgment", but the one with the nice brass horns and drums that comes before it. I've been dying to hear this, but I don't know what to youtube!
  2. Oh, and one other thing: If you don't want to post your skype name publicly, for fear of spam crawlers and the like, PM it to one of us. We'll be happy to add you.
  3. (edit:)Tooli! She's cute. I'm sure you will. If you want in on our super Gilgamesh OOC skype chat (which is hopping with activity as I write this), send me a PM. Rock has just made a thread on this topic, too. Really needs a sticky somewhere.
  4. Thanks for this, Rock! Folks, with the rate our OOC LS was filling up on Gilg in P4 - quality people, all - we're going to have 2 of them within a week of release, or sooner. Then maybe 3, or 4. I have no idea how far this will go, but one thing is clear: The Linkshell system isn't up to our needs as a community. Having to alt-tab into Skype isn't very good, either, but it does give you the chance to chat it up with everyone in the "A" group. Hopefully we'll see a user limit extension for LS's. There's no reason they can't be player-run chat channels. It's 2013, am I right?
  5. Delicious snu-snu. I wish there were more of these characters around, and less... Well, you-know-who's.
  6. Ha, good chance, indeed. Something to the order of 99 out of 100, isn't it? I'll have to keep that tactic in mind.
  7. I think we've found our Gilgamesh mascot. I was originally going to go with Solaire, but damn... Welcome to the party, by the way! If you'd like to chat with your fellow Falafells, there's a large infestation of them on the Gilgamesh-Coalition OOC skype group. I think you'll especially like Miri and Lulu. They RP as brother and sister, and it's cute as the dickens. If you want in on the chat group, just send me a PM! It's quite busy at all times.
  8. Nice to meet you, Kheda'ya. We've got a Gilgamesh/Coalition skype group going for idle chit-chat, planning, and that kind of thing. Send me a PM if you're interested in it - it's quite busy! (That goes for anyone who wants in.) If you have any questions, about lore or site features like the character wiki, just ask. I'm looking forward to talking with you.
  9. I'll hit you up in 2015, then.
  10. We all use a skype chat group. I'll PM you my skype name, and you can add me if you're interested. As for early access, no, 'fraid not. I played 18 hours a day to compensate during p4, lol.
  11. I think your aesthetic justifies itself. I don't suppose you'd do any work by gil commission? I've still got small fortune sitting around on Balmung, on Legacy Yeldir.
  12. There was a Musketeer's guild in 1.0, but they wouldn't let us in. Something about our shoes not getting in the club. Same goes for Arcanists, but they got in at 2.0, obviously. That said, I would expect red mage, beastmaster, thief/ninja and other classes like that down the line.
  13. Welcome! I like your user avatar, Faori. Who made that?
  14. Yeah, having just come out of P4, I'd say either server has a strong community to choose from at this point. It drives me up the wall, the gloom and doom posts made regarding the internet communities on Gilgamesh (some of these threads I was a part of!), and then the same communities pretty much gave us a line of people eager to join us. How quickly these guys picked up the basics blew my mind.
  15. Welcome to the party, Kel! I think Rock there is in early access, so he'll get you set up with the coalition OOC linkshell (we're going to need a second one by the time of release, which is troubling...) If you need anything, or have any questions (like working the character wiki), just ask. Be sure to check out the Gilgamesh events - the next one coming up is the beach party, which you don't want to miss if you can avoid it.
  16. Seems like you're in good hands. I've made a special study of Eorzea's history, so let me point you at a good place to start: In the 5th Umbral Era, known as the Age of Endless Frost, the Miqo'te, presumably driven by hunger, pursued wandering prey across frozen oceans so far that this led to their discovery and subsequent colonization of Eorzea. This all happened anywhere from 3077 to 5077 years ago - ancient history, really, and notably after the fall of the Allaghan empire, and presumably after the Hyur-Elezen wars had settled down. Odds are your character grew up in Eorzea - of any potential homelands for the Miqo'te, little is known with certainty. If you wish to work them into your story, I recommend writing them with an air of mystery, to avoid having to retcon when SE finally pushes out some hard details. Welcome to the RPC! If you need anything else, just ask myself or any of these other nice folks.
  17. Hey, Leo! Good to see you here. I don't think they quite believe myself and Rock's tales of all the rad people we picked up in P4. If you need a hand with anything (such as the character wiki), just ask.
  18. I like your character ideas! Yeldir needs a companion with a sense of humor that fits his own - he never gets to express it, usually. All I've been getting so far are gravity-defying Lalafells that yank on his ears. If you need anything, just ask. Oh, and welcome. Edit: lol Rock. Way to go with the recruitment, there. Tarot, would you believe this guy is probably single-handedly responsible for recruiting a quarter (at least) of the Gilgamesh RP player-base?
  19. Directed hostility towards RP'ers? I saw none, and I was part of two large, several hour RP events that took place in major cities and congested areas. What I saw was people actually joining in on the fly. I was expecting directed hostility towards what we were doing, but in actuality, besides shout chat being a barrens-style mess(you can turn that off), and the odd hilariously inappropriate character name, I was flabberghasted by the lack of directed hostility. Either people were interested in joining in, or no one gave a shit who we were or what we were doing. If the tone of Gilgamesh bothers you, you should definitely go to and stay on Balmung. There is somewhat less shout chat spam and absurd naming conventions, but I've got to be honest - there's definitely way more of these things, now, than their was in the old days, even on Balmung. If the server population was any indicator, I don't think any of your average joes have decided to avoid Balmung because it was RP. (You should be mostly glad for this, as you'll get new recruits from some of them.) My favorite silly name so far is probably Donut BallZ!
  20. It's full all right. Full of win.
  21. The sheer numbers on Gilgamesh have been so good for the purposes of "whoa you guys are RPing in FFXIV, can I join?" that we'd have to be out of our minds to move now. Three days put whatever worries I had regarding recruitment to rest immediately. Things went really, really well for us there, overall, and that is in part because of those three super-communities you mention as clogging up the server. Reddit, especially, has been good to us. I think for there to be any chance of us moving, Gilgamesh would have be as bad at release as it was in P4. That would surprise me.
  22. Oooh man. We need to get all of the recruits we picked up randomly to register here, and post now and again. Said another way, if you have concerns regarding the population of interested roleplayers on Gilgamesh, beta disproved that. We had randoms coming out from behind trees and alleys to join in. Gilgamesh itself has been great to us so far. I think we picked up more people for our little movement in three days than in weeks of planning, here.
  23. Wasn't too bad. I think half of the people who wanted to come, go to, and it went for a good two hours before I had to sneak off and work on my HQ's. I had fun! I have to say, it's really good to see just how many people have been coming out of the woodwork to join us on Gilgamesh.
  24. Okay, after the end of P4, I managed to put together the following HQ's for Goldsmithing: 10 bone brand 10 bone hora 10 copper gorget 10 copper wristlets 10 copper earrings 20 copper rings 20 bone rings 10 copper needle 10 bone necklace 10 copper choker 10 copper scepter 10 bone armilla 10 ramhorn claws 10 copper earrings 10 amateur's needle Let's make an inventory so we know what we need to round out our hand-outs.
