1. Although his face remained obscured under the shadows of his cloak, Tyonis was reasonably surprised by the boy’s hardiness. A blow to the back of the neck would have easily knocked out most grown men. Granted, the Mongrel held back to avoid snapping the Mi’qote’s spine; self-control was not something the swordsman was accustomed to - it was possible he held back too much. Instead of immediately pouncing on the weakened Mi’qote, Tyonis let the boy recover before closing the distance again, as if to reward the Mi’qote’s admirable fortitude. However, once the thief turned to face him, Tyonis advanced, a wooden mace already drawn. He held it idly at his side as he closed the distance, but quickly came to a halt, his stance shifting readily. His eyes narrowed and his arm tensed in anticipation as Tyonis sensed Aether gather around the boy’s finger. “A mage?” Tyonis hisses angrily. His voice is rough, like unrefined steel against a grindstone. “I should have just run you through.” He clicks his tongue in annoyance as a ball of energy appears between them and condenses into a small, blue, fox-like creature with a shining gem embedded in its forehead. It mimicked the intent of its charge, and their affinity was almost endearing. A crowd began to gather around them, intrigued by the show and fascinated by the Miqo’te’s magical familiar. The nostalgic scene reminded Tyonis of his life on the Bloodsands, fighting for his life as a gladiator. It was during this slight remiss that Tyonis recognized the glint of accustomed desperation in the Miqo'te's eyes. It was an expression he often wore back on Ul'dah's streets. Off in the distance, he could hear the angry shouts of Limsa Lominsa’s Yellow Jackets closing in. In truth, all Tyonis had to do was keep the Miqo’te here until Limsa’s guardsmen came to finish the job. The Mongrel held the mace aloft, acknowledging the boy’s will to fight. “Come.” OOC: Sure I don't mind!
2. A cloaked figure strode through the market stalls of Limsa Lominsa, the worn sheathe of a longsword strapped to his waist. Although he stood at a towering 6’1”, what truly set the Hyur apart from the crowd was his girth. Despite the thickness and length of his cloak, he had a powerful physique that could not be hidden. Tyonis was not normally one for law-enforcement, but his desperation for Gil drove him to temporarily enlist as a mercenary guard. With all his claims and holdings in Ul’dah, Tyonis had no alternative but to find honest work for coin, lest he resort to thievery. Seven years ago, Tyonis Magstrom would have simply killed any who opposed his will. Now, he was reluctant to steal the few coins it took to purchase a barge ticket. As he shadowed the Mi’qote, Tyonis could only smirk with mild amusement. From the age of ten, he lived as a street rat; barely surviving on Ul’dah’s bloodstained alleyways. Limsa Lominsa boasted ships, pirates, and sailors of the highest caliber, but their dedication to the art of thievery was woefully lacking. If the Miqo’te made such a blatant attempt at shoplifting in Ul’dah, he would have been run-through by sword and lance before his next breath. The boy was skilled and fast, but in Tyonis’ eyes, he was still a child. Like a wolf winding through dense wood, Tyonis slid through the crowded streets, one eye locked on his target. The boy darted between the idle crowds with a grace that complemented his race, but Tyonis continued to stalk him like the mongrels he was aptly named after. Slowly, he closed the distance, careful not to approach too quickly, lest he alert the boy to his intent or disturb the boy’s focus on evasion. As the Miqo’te barreled between a pair of bystanders, Tyonis saw him stumble and twist into a coarse recovery. That stutter in pace and stride was more than enough for Tyonis to finally leap out and reach forward; a single, strong hand aiming to clock the boy on the back of the neck.
3. Heyo guys! Tyonis is here once more to travel the lands of Eorzea! A bit about me: Played FFXIV 1.0-End of an Era. I rolled on a regular server before checking out the RP community! I've been RPing for close to sixteen years! I am currently trying to hone my accent writing, so expect a few written colloquialisms from my characters. I started as a forum RPer, and if anyone is interested in forum roleplay, I can recommend a few websites to check out! Unfortunately, I no longer have the time to dedicate to forum RP. Tyonis Magstrom is my main character, and you can normally find me idling on him if I'm not doing anything! I was a member of the RPC for awhile, although I never truly socalized on the forums. I am a heavy, multi-paragraph RPer that borders on hardcore. But I am very flexible and sensitive to the tastes of my partners. I tend to keep my IRL information away from the masses, although I will sometimes share my contact info with my RP partners.

I. Basic Info Characters: Tyonis Trueblade; Valen Magstrom; Elistine Reinhert Primary character: Tyonis Trueblade Linkshells: Sanctus Refero (Temp. disbanded); Nebulous (OOCly); Backstage Primary RP linkshell: N/A [*] II. RP Style Amount of RP (heavy): I am a heavy, multi-paragraph RPer, but I can adjust my posting style to suit the preferences of my partners. I tend to narrate my character’s actions in the third person, much like how you would find in a regular novel. I tend to be very picky about grammar, syntax, and lexicon, so expect long intervals between my posts. If my partners wish for a faster-paced RP, I will happily oblige them with any posting amount they desire, even simple one-liners. I am aware of the differing views of RP length and depth, and am very flexible. Views on RP combat and injuries: I will not tolerate resolving RP conflicts through duels (PvP) or other RNG mechanics that unfairly favor one side or the other. I believe such resolutions, while quick and absolute, lend almost nothing to the creative writing process nor the RPing experience. That said, I will tolerate ANYTHING short of god-modding and/or power-playing as long as it is well-written and justifiable. I will even allow my characters to be auto-hit if convinced the situation demands it. When narrating my character in my typical RP style, you will have a third person perspective, thus allowing you to analyze my character’s movements and weaknesses during battles – avenues that you can choose to ignore or take advantage of depending on the status of your own character. I offer these tibits of information freely and if unclear, my RP partners are free to ask me for more indepth information via whispers or OOC channels. Views on IC romance: I am perfectly fine with IC Romance and even ERP. Although IC Romance is not one of my major priorities, I understand the tastes of my RP partners may vary and am quite capable of adjusting my tastes to suit theirs. I also enjoy reading IC Romance and may even lurk if I am heavily invested in the characters as a reader. I am aware that many RPers do not tolerate ERP under any circumstance, but I have come to realize that ERP is simply another avenue of creative writing and do not look down upon those that use ERP as their outlet for creativity. I also should add that, while I have been asked to ERP or write OOC smut of my characters, I dislike writing random and/or out-of-context ERP. Currently, I am uninterested in ERP or smut writing. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I actually prefer RPing family bonds above that of IC Romances. So much so, that I will RP my characters receiving regular correspondence from their family members. As an RPer, I have avid experience with both sides of a Master-Student and Parent-Child relationships. If any of my RP partners wish to form such a bond with my characters, they are free to whisper me and I will be happy to discuss the idea in detail. Views on lore: I am stringent to adhering to clearly established lore, however, for vaguer concepts and topics not covered by the lore, I do not mind if my RP partners take creative stances and heavily improvise histories, characters, or abilities. That said, I expect my RP partners to apply adequate justification for their creative stances – at least enough to suspend my disbelief. “If there isn’t anything that contradicts you, go for it.” Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I typically RP using all avenues of chat and switch depending on the situation. It is common for my partners to denote /whisper or /party for OOC, however. For social shells like Backstage, OOC is fine, however for Heavy RP Linkshells, I expect IC Linkshell Chat and/or an OOC Linkshell for casual conversations. [*] III. Other Info Country:United States Timezone:West Coast Contact info:PM over the forums or through my main character, Tyonis Magstrom [*] [glow=blue]~Special announcements can be found in the posts below~[/glow]
