Should probably add that the THM guild handles a bit of the death sentencing for criminals in Ul'dah. I'm not sure of the specifics though.

Ul'dah is a piss-hole where people get mugged, harassed, and possibly even raped in broad daylight in front of and inside the Adventurer's Guild. Also, no one but our characters cares, apparently. The Brass Blades are glorified thugs who sell their swords to the highest bidder and the Sultansworn, the only fighting force aside from the Immortal Flames who still protects and enforces the law in Ul'dah, are only seen guarding and patrolling the Husting Strip (second floor of Ul'dah). I am not saying law doesn't exist in Ul'dah. I'm saying that no one cares about it.

I might go with this if I decide to remake my character.

I believe Kylin will hold a poll for a non-legacy RP server if there is no official one declared. You can also PM Lilzsee since she and several more were also interested in a non-legacy server.

One of the reasons why I started to hate FFXIV toward the end was because of the materia system and its grotesque fascination with the RNG. At least now, the type of materia you get is dictated by the gear type of the converted piece. Instead of being, you know, COMPLETELY RANDOM. Also, breaking gear isn't a problem anymore, which will open up gearing opportunities to players that don't have over 999,999,999 gil to blow.

I really hope they make Leviathan and Fenrir epic-looking...

This initial choice doesn't matter because Balmung will be made available in the weekend after, thus giving us access to our characters. Once the Legacy server is reopened, weren't we going to move back to Balmung? Is there proof of that? I assume that server list will be the same for the entirety of Phase 3. If that is true, the things will be complicated this week.. really complicated. For everyone, not just us. Because that means all Legacy characters will have to switch and it'll be back to level 1 again for non-Legacy therefore slowing a bunch of people down from higher level content which is.. counterproductive. So I actually hope they don't do that. Assuming Kylin is correct, Balmung isn't open yet, hence why the RPC is choosing a server just for this week. That's... I've had an on-going RP using elements from FFversus as a premise, so it's good to see the game finally get an official tagging. I was afraid the game would be stuck in development hell for all eternity, but with the its official announcement as FFXV, its release is all but guaranteed. Eventually. EDIT: Also, gunblades. Lots and lots of gunblades.
