  1. Looking good, all artists concerned! Art project things like this are just one reason why I like the community here. Even in the absence of the game, stuff is happening.
  2. It's tough to picture Kannadi without her exorbitant yet carefully-managed wealth. Even after the nine-tenths economic contraction, she'll still be loaded.
  3. Good, good. Going by the roadmap, that puts Phase 3 in May. Open Beta seems set for June. Counting down the weeks.
  4. I suspect the newly-revealed lore will cause a lot of "whoops" reactions. "Kannadi Albedo," for instance, is completely wrong for Anglo-Saxon naming conventions, but then again, so is she. Both her first and last name pertain to reflection, being that I designed her as an eventual Blue Mage. It's a fine name for an adventurer, but an inaccurate name for a Hyur Midlander. So what? I'll just rationalize it away as a variation in culture. Besides, her family's wealthy, they can buy themselves whatever names they want. Anyway, the lore on roegadyn names definitely came in handy for the alt I'll be making.
  5. More Lore = Good News. But what will the weather themes sound like, I wonder...
  6. In 1.0, the Arcanists' Guild was in charge of customs and inspections for all of Limsa Lominsa's incoming goods. Only those proven to have some sort of obscure "gift" were permitted to join the inspectors. How that pertains to summoning is yet to be known. Most arcanist NPCs in 1.0 carried mechanical staffs. The class will carry books in ARR. Why they changed is yet to be known. And that's about all that is provable about them.
  7. Welcome back! I remember your name too.
  8. 1). That situation would be quite viable, for reasons Merri explained. It would be fairly easy to say your boyfriend's character has some past training with the Monks or history in Ala Mhigo. Your own character would fit without incident. 2). Don't worry, it's absolutely a profession Nako could have. Belonging to her city-state's police force, which is basically what Wood Wailers are, is nowhere near Mary Sue territory. Unless she rose to command them inside of six weeks.
  9. Medium, 1280x1024: 8567. Medium, 1900x1080: 7596. Maximum, 1280x1024: 5639. Maximum, 1900x1080: 4719. Customs in Maximum 1280x1024 went from the 5800s to just below 6100, which are still Very High. My desktop is four years old, too. It seems I built it well. If you want to get your numbers a little higher, the Custom options I tweaked were no motion blur, no limb darkening, no rendering of things not visible (Occlusion Culling), no depth of field in cutscenes, and low-detail shadows. I noticed only the absence of depth of field, and didn't mind.
  10. Sounds fun. Instrumental: "Rabao," Final Fantasy XI Piano Collection 7EdDlQ2uAMU Lyrical: "Rose of May," Final Fantasy IX, lyrics by Kate Covington. bNHtbw4Kyf0 Anime: "Salva Nos," Noir soGzGCxW27c Musical: Kannadi would not sing, but rather stubbornly stand in place for a long moment, arms crossed, before calmly walking out of sight.
  11. Welcome back! I sympathize with the RP difficulties in the game's opening weeks and months as someone who also bought the Collector's Edition. Rest assured, everything and (just about) everyone is far more developed and enthused now than they were then.
  12. Greetings! Your high hopes are shared by many in this place. Hope to see you in-game!
  13. Yeah. I wasn't worried about her though. No, seriously. See, before all that mess... and I mean right before, Kannadi sat me and her mother down and spilled everything. I say spilled but I mean laid it all out, like glass figures in a cabinet. We weren't worried. ... Well, most of what she said's private, sorry. Family stuff. Let's just say I'm glad one of her cousins is gone without a trace. ... If you insist, the short version goes like this. She's always been into monsters and magic, see. Loves studying both. Still does. So one day she got it into her head that there was a way to reproduce monster abilities with nothing but magic. Some of the things monsters can do are just crazy, so Kanna thought they must be tapping into some new field of magic to do them. Problem was, she couldn't prove it, and needed a ton of time and resources for experimenting. So she got into this academy to use their library. Wasn't a bad deal. Did some writing for them, some of that "professional adventuring," just brought in her keep, y'know? The place eventually folded anyway. So she kicked around for a while, solo research and stuff, worked off and on with different groups of her adventurer friends, and got up pretty high in the Flames. Officer's commission at twenty-six. Brilliant girl. You should see her pile of notes, we still have some in storage. Anyway, so one day Dalamud came off his leash. Kanna was sort've holed up in her apartment for a while, just her and a telescope and a forest's worth of paper, watching that thing get closer. And when she got to the other side of wherever it was her brain led her, she was convinced all the circles and patterns and things on it indicated some new kind of magic. It might not be what she was looking for, but it was new, so it was a mystery, so she was set on discovering it. After that... or maybe before, I forget, she joined this Adventuring League to, y'know, help out the crazy world. So she did, but she kept up her notes. Seriously, got drawers of 'em. ... I dunno what they did. Adventure stuff? Kill this, find that, go to parties. If I was her age I'd be right in there with her. ... Are you kidding? Avani'd break my face. Naaaw, I kid, that's terrible. She'd only break my leg. Nothing, hon! ... So then news comes out about the joint op in Cartenau. Kanna said she'd have to go, but she'd go with her cousin. They used to hate each other, but something about the end of the world can make all that look petty, y'know? So she went. And you know what happened. ... It was the magic. That's all I'm saying. The way she talked about it and the ec-- uh... nevermind, yeah, basically we knew she'd be okay because of whatever it was she saw in all those lines and circles. Magic. I'm done. Want another drink? ~ Torrent Albedo, to houseguest
  14. Wow, very well done! I'm impressed with how extensive the changes are. This setup ought to draw more outside interest once the game relaunches. Or even before that! (I'll try to make myself more apparent on here now.)
