balmung Lil' Smith Looking for a Lil' Attention
Checheri replied to Gegenji's topic in Chronicled Connections
Checheri is looking for an experienced smith to ask for advice. I made a post about it in this section but I think I wrote too much and turned it into a wall of text, scaring people off by making it seem more complicated than I meant to. Probably because I talk too much haha. Anyway, Im pretty new to ffxiv RP but I'd love to RP with the little dude sometime! -
Hey guys! To start off, I meant BSM and ASM as blacksmith and armor smith respectively. Not sure if those are official abbreviations. Edit- I think I overdid t with all the 'master craftsman' stuff. It's kinda silly to think that someone would RP all of that. I'm really just looking for a good blacksmith. Doesn't need to be all crafters- just blacksmith at a minimum really, maybe armor smith too. Checheri Cheri is the head of a merchant family with loose, loose familial ties to THAT Lalafell. A particularly scheming Monetarist that will as of yet remain unnamed. Due to this individuals callous deeds, Checheri's company "Mon Cheri," has fallen into disrepute. She previously catered almost exclusively to adventurers, but these brave men and women no longer trust Checheri or her wares. As a result she lost first her employees and then her company in one short week. Checheri is used to the high life. As a result she is more than a bit snobby, and tends to look down on others. Although her knowledge of trade and marketing is vast, her knowledge of crating itself is considerably less so. However, she has resolved to learn as much as possible about crafting in order to restore honor to her house. She plans to combine this new knowledge with a unique and unusual PR campaign to once again win over the hearts and minds of adventurers everywhere. Tl;dr: This is where YOU come in. Checheri is seeking a master craftsman to explain to her the details of crafting, how to gather, desynth, etc. I, the player, also know pretty much nothing about making money in FFXIV or crafting itself. So my reason for this RP is twofold: 1. To further Checheri's story and 2. To learn about crafting myself. As a result our relationship might require some OOC coaching as well, although not too much as I can read guides too. Oh, and this isn't like a marriage proposal or anything so far as commitment goes. Think of it as a crafting consultant Checheri can get in contact with from time to time, or even just the once. Nothing too crazy! Let me know if you're interested! P.S.- Checheri has been searching for this master craftsman for quite some time. So she will be much relieved to find you!

Checheri Cheri tapped her foot as the ignorant tailor prattled on and on about the latest cross stitch patterns she had created and an incredibly rare dye that would make cloaks pop and gowns sparkle. "I have told you time and time again that I am NOT here to purchase any of your drab creations. I am looking for a master craftsman. A professional. Not a purveyor of cheap, and quite frankly tawdry, goods. No matter how you truss it, a pig is most certainly still a pig." Checheri brushed passed the now profanity-spewing tailor in order to reach the exit of the so-called guild. "Not a master to be found amongst these desperate pretenders. Not a single one. At this rate Mon Cheri will never again rise to conquer the markets of Ul'dah..." Before she could open the door, however, it burst open in a flurry of activity. Due to her diminutive Lalafell stature, Checheri could only see one thing: a luscious red hat, Perfectly crafted in most every way. "Who made this!!?" she exclaimed, her manicured nails pawing at the celestial creation.

Thanks guys, these responses are really helping!

Hi Guys, I'm planning on RPing a Noble/Upper Class Dunesfolk Lala Female , but I don't know much about Ul'dah class politics, or what type of individual becomes a noble/upper class (I guess merchants maybe?). Or really anything about Ul'dah in general. It needs to be Ul'dah, right, since that's where the wealthy Lalas live? Any help/links would be much appreciated!

Thanks guys, she is now Checheri Cheri. Also, servers are back up!
-
Hmm yeah, I think it's gonna come down to one of those too. The others are kinda obvious and make you think about the real world a bit too much.

Hi Guys, So I'm new to RP, and am trying to pick a meaningful yet lore-friendly name for my Dunesfolk Lalafell female. She is going to be a member of upper-class society, and a bit of a snob. She also wears all things pink, which led me to these names... Which ones do you like? Is there anything you could think of that might be better? Did I mess up with lore anywhere? I'm leaning towards Checheru and Checheri, but I'd love your input! Checheru Cheru: Cherry Blossoms? Both pink and refined. Hihime Hime: Since Hime is Japanese for princess/lady of high birth Checheri Cheri: Cherry Blossoms again. Frefresa Fresa: Fresa is Spanish for strawberry. Rurubi Rubi: Rubies are pinkish and refined...? Candidi Candi: Candy is pink, sometimes. Strastrabi Strabi: Yeah, this one is weird. And I'm not sure it's lore friendly.

Ooh, you and your character sound really fun! I'm an RP noob, and haven't really started yet (trying to sort out relevant lore and a name) but I plan on RPing a fairly snobbish lalafell noble that just might be interested in hiring a bodyguard for some adventuring! She's named Aramina Rose at the moment, although that should change soon as I'm using this maint time to come up with a lore-friendly name...

Ok great, I'll try and contact ya in game once I log on tonight. I'm guessing this is you? http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/character/3164525/

Okay, are you okay with it being the platinum ceremony? We each need to go to the mogstation and purchase the wristlet for 20 bucks if so. (It includes a fair amount of ceremony specific perk items) I totally understand if you would rather find someone for one of the cheaper options though. Oh, and ya have to be level 50 in case ya didn't know. Anyway, thanks for the response!

I think it requires buying the wristlet again as well as tossing the rings, but I could be wrong, since I'm the newb and all.

Hello all, I'm pretty new to RP, and am planning on RPing a Lalafell noble female after I learn more about FFXIV RP. As such, the Eternal Bond glamour is pretty much a must for some RP outfits. However, I don't want the Eternal Bond Ceremony to be IC, so I was wondering if anybody out there would be interested in an OOC ceremony purely for the shinies? Please let me know! You may contact me at Aramina Rose (A name I gotta change before RP) on Balmung, or just reply in this thread!
-
Oh really? I see, interesting! Only downside is that I'd like to glamour the ring for RP reasons as well, haha. Which shouldn't be a huge problem since I think I'll probably stay away from IC Eternal Bonds with this character.
-
Oh so I can still change this name, great! I'll have to head over to that forum and take a stab at it then. And oh, that was a really creative way of adding meaning to your name! I'll have to ruminate on that one for a while...
-
Ah ok, that's all really helpful! Also I might end up making a new account since I realized my name is totally not helpful here... So now I just gotta find somebody that would OOC Eternal Bond with me for the shinies. Any idea how I should go about searching for that? I see, so I can just generate names then. I wanted to find something with meaning, but do Lala names really have meaning per se? As in does each syllable denote some sort of something? If that makes any sense. nd oh wow, dungeons sound super fun then. Thanks for all of your help!

Hi Guys, I'm thinking about taking the plunge into RP soon, already moved to Balmung with my fresh level 50. I'm still researching and reading up though, so it will still take me a while. I had a few questions, if that's alright... 1. I was wondering what the opinion was on OOC Eternal Bonds? I need the glamour for my character concept, but I don't want the relationship for RP reasons. Is anybody else in this sort of predicament? 2. Finally, I plan to RP a Dunesfolk Lalafell female noble, perhaps descended from a wealthy merchant family. Do these families have special surnames, or do they adhere to the standard Lala naming conventions? 3. Finally, what is RP like in dungeons? How dya balance downing that boss with talkin' up a storm? Thanks! Oh, and I'm an RP noob if that wasn't obvious. I've dabble a bit in Champions Online, but that's pretty much it.
