Welcome to the forums! If you have any extra questions, feel free to shoot me a PM! I'm more than happy to help where I can. With regards to half-breeds I vaguely remember some talk about them a while back but I can't remember if there's an official source stating if they're possible or not. Honestly I would suggest going with the race you find most appealing to both play the game and roleplay with, since if they become your main you'll want to enjoy the race! Both Hyur and Miqo'te have some interesting concepts/features, so it might be worth taking a look at the wiki and the Lore section under the official forums! Enjoy your stay!

Welcome to the forums! Glad to have you here! The husband and wife thing sounds really interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing and interacting with the two of you in game!

Welcome to the forums! Well, registering to them I guess! Always nice to see more people! Looking forward to seeing you around here and in-game come release!

I can't believe you're only a beginner! The second picture is great, I doubt I'd ever be able to draw something like that haha. Keep it up! It'll be great to see your art and styles evolve as you continue with practice, especially since you're new to it!

I can only echo what's already been seen and thank you for your hard work in getting the site back up! Hopefully the person responsible gets their fair share of karma and will think again before attacking -any- community after this. Glad to see everything got away mostly unscathed, too! Great job all round!

Luka will be 19 at the beginning of ARR! He wasn't in the time skip as he was so young and his life didn't drastically change until Dalamud fell. The past five years have been pretty crucial to his personality developing, too!

/swoon. Another great piece, Gerik! Always look forward to your work! -
Welcome to the site! I was in a similar situation before I started RPing regularly on MMOs, myself! My current friends didn't do it, so I found it difficult to get into. I managed to jump in, however, and met even -more- friends because I did so! It's a great way to get to know additional people and enjoy your 'down time' in an MMO instead of idling somewhere, for example. Hope you enjoy the site! Feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions or want to test out RPing or anything!

Hahaha. That's amazing! The sketch itself is great but that had me giggling quite a bit. x) I'm agreeing with Aysun with your Lalafell sketches. I think the smaller sized second sketches work best and resemble Lalafell more, all the while looking just as good as the bigger version!

Welcome to the community! Good to have you here and glad you found us! Like Xenedra said, if you have any questions feel free to shout or send a PM! I'm not biggest Lore historian on the site, but I've been looking into it recently so might be able to help! Hope you enjoy your stay!

Welcome to the community! Looking forward to getting to interact a bit more and RP some in game come release! Already chatted to you in the skype group and you seem great, so a big warm welcome from me!

I love the bow on the back of Leanna/Nymeia x) It's an adorable outfit, haha! I'm a sucker for Lalafell art, too. As for Llymlaen's dress, I really like the change in style you went with and I can't wait to see a more detailed look. Already it has some great features, so I'm very excited for this one!
-
Pretty much what Rhio said! You have an amazing talent and I'm always excited to see more of your work.

Welcome to the site! Loved the RP introduction! Interesting and creative, nicely done! Looking forward to seeing you around the site and in game come launch!

That last outfit is absolutely stunning. I wish there was a drool smiley right now. I can't help but compare it to Lightning's armour from FFXIII-2, only... better? HQ? Lightning's Armour +1? x) I'm really impressed with all of the outfit designs, but the bottom one is easily my personal favourite. I'm a sucker for the wings on one side.

Hm! Father, Uncle, Aunt and Cousin for Luka! Father's the only real important relationship he has left, as it's key to his story. I included the Uncle, Aunt and Cousin being alive for future plot development, though! Having family options available is nice in case other people feel like RPing part of your family, too!

Character Bio's, backstory, background, whatever you wanna call it!
Adventurer replied to JaydenMoon's topic in RP Discussion
It's short, but here's Luka's! I'll develop it a lot more once I'm more certain about the Lore and get a chance to actually RP Luka a bit, but there's his basics for now! -
Welcome to the site! There's actually a great post on the official FFXIV forums about naming conventions and this information has been moved over to the wiki here! Here's the link: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Miqo%27te If you still want to call your character Izmina, that's still more than possible I believe! Looking at the Seekers of the Sun information, the female conventions are... "A female first name will always begin with the letter representing her tribe, followed by an apostrophe, and then her given name. Her last name is the first name of the tribe’s breeding male who sired her." So you could call her something like N'Izmina or something. Saying that, Eorzea is a huge place and I'm sure there are some characters who don't fit the conventions of their race, so you could possibly just go with Izmina as the first name. It's your call! As for last name, I'm not sure what to recommend here. I don't know what the last name would be if they haven't been "sired" by a member of their tribe, yet! It depends on your character history, I guess. Looking forward to seeing you around and interacting some more!
-
Yeah! It depends on what you're after, but I'm similar. The thing is I still like to see the content and experience it with people I get along with (namely people I become friends with through RP!). I raided 'hardcore' once before in WoW and I didn't like the amount of stress it puts on you. And even when you do well, to me it makes the game feel a lot different and not as fun. I much prefer to focus on RP, but dip my toes into content when I have the chance. Looking at recent examples in MMOs (mainly WoW and Rift, I'll admit), the most I ever do on them now is Normal mode raids with roleplaying friends. If I can find a Roleplaying Free Company that 'casually' tackles end-game content then I'm going to be one happy bunny. I always lean that way more than end-game guilds that have a really light RP theme, for example. Plus I want to build a purdy house IC!
-
This is me, as well! Well, sort of. I have nothing against joining an RP Free Company (I join RP guilds in other games all the time!) but I would still like to experience in-game content as well, so it'd have to be one that RPs but also puts some (doesn't have to be much!) interest into the actual game itself. But this is why I'm happy there's both Linkshells and this system in the game. If I find I can't join a Free Company that suits my RP and game needs, I can always grab an RP Linkshell and still get my RP fix!

Hello! This is the thread where I'll be posting some short stories of Luka's past before adding some (shorter) versions to his wiki! Feedback is really encouraged! Please send any you have by PM or leave a reply! I'd really appreciate it. Chapter 1 - A Mother's Love "I can do it, mother! Let me try." Luka yelled, tugging at the sleeve of his mother's work jacket. His mother chuckled in response, shaking her head as she crouched down and grunted, lifting a small crate from the ground. "No, son. Not yet, you might hurt yourself. You can lift next time, all right?" his mother replied, a small smile on her face. Her voice was quiet and soft as she spoke, her gaze focused on her son. "But-..." "No, Luka. Come, calm the chocobo while I place this on the wagon." "Fiiine." Luka sighed, doing as he was told and scurrying along after his mother. His footsteps made soft thudding sounds against the soft grass and dirt of Gridania, accompanied by the quiet grunts of his mother carrying the small crate. When they arrived at their rusted old wagon, Luka moved round to the front and smiled up at a rather scrawny chocobo. The animal looked down at him and let out a quiet "Kweh" before lowering it's head. Luka reached up almost immediately, standing on the tips of his toes, and began to run his fingers through the chocobo's soft feathers. "She's getting old now. We might have to buy a new one soon." came the voice of his mother from behind the wagon. She walked to the chocobo shortly after she spoke, mimicking Luka's actions with a small smile. "But she's been in the family since I can remember, mother! She's fine, right Tilly?" The chocobo responded to the sound of her name, releasing another soft "Kweh" as she closed her eyes, enjoying the mother and son's fingers moving through her feathers. "I know, dear. And we'll still keep her. But she's getting a little too old to carry all this stuff around, hm?" His mother chuckled once more, moving her hand from the chocobo and instead placing it gently on the head of her son. She stared down at the boy, gently stroking his hair before kneeling down. She turned Luka to face her and stared at him in silence for a few seconds, seeing herself. Her own bright blue eyes, her own earthy green hair, and even her own smile. All of this she saw staring straight back at her, the same features on the face of her child. "You know, Luka, that I love you very much." "I know, mother! I love you too." the boy grinned, staring up at his mother's face. In his eyes, they looked nothing alike. She was far too beautiful. Her eyes a sparkling blue, shining even in the darkest of nights. Her hair always so tidy and perfect, while his sat messily on his head. Her smile able to cure even the worst of bad moods. In his eyes, he was staring at perfection. "I know you do, dear. I just wanted you to know that I love you with all my heart." her voice was different. It was almost a whisper, and Luka fell silent for a moment as he noticed a different look in his mother's eyes. He wasn't sure what it was, for around him she had never shown it before. She was always so happy, so loving, that he had never seen sorrow in his mother's eyes before this night. Before he could talk, his mother pulled him into a tight hug and kept him there for several minutes. She made no sound and said no words, simply holding her child tight. Luka gripped onto his mother, closing his eyes. In the embrace, the sorrow he saw in his mother's eyes had vanished from his mind, and he would never remember it again. "Everything's going to be okay, Luka. I promise." Across a small patch of grass a male Lalafell stood in a doorway in silence, watching the embrace. He cleared his throat quietly, his eyes filled with water as he turned away from the scene. Later that evening Luka lay fast asleep in his small bed. He had a smile on his face as he dreamed of travelling with his parents. The places they'd go, the things they'd see, the people they'd meet! Even in his sleep this was all he ever thought about and he always considered himself truly blessed to have such a perfect family. In the other room, Minana Mina and Topel Ridpel sat in silence, holding each other's hands across their small dining table. "Did you tell him?" asked Luka's father, his voice quiet and shaking. "...No. Not yet. It wasn't time, he isn't ready." Luka's mother replied, smiling across at her husband. He simply nodded in response as his eyes began to tear up once again, and neither of them said another word. They simply sat, holding each other's hands and staring into each other's eyes for the entire night.
