  1. I feel you on the wingman thing. My characters are all business and will not go out into public for "fun", usually needing a social friend to drag them there.
  2. So the twelve are only worshipped in Eorzea, correct? I remember that the Au Ra have their own gods and the Domans have their notShinto. Does this mean that every other region has their own different faith system?
  3. Everyone makes it sound like the gates of judgement is literally the only way to leave. There are areas surrounding Ishgard that are populated by Ishgardians. There are probably plenty of villages and other settlements between the loading screens and people seem to often forget that there is a lot of land between zones too. It may take longer and involve more walking and hiding (which I personally think would make things more interesting) but it's completely possible to escape on foot through the highlands or something.
  4. It is just theory, but I'd say that happens because... A. Yoshi-P lost interest in using more darkside shenanigans. B. You are the WoL. Which is like being an embodied 42. From what your darkside said, they will always be there at the corner of your mind, ready to take reins if you decide to end with your "fallacy" of being a hero. I take that is, yes, the darkside is subdued for now, until for some reason you show a glimpse of weakness that he will use to persuade/tempt/force its weight. I admittedly prefer this interpretation just because of the extra flavor that adds to being a DRK. You will be forever having keep yourself on your toes xP Correction: The Warrior of Light's Dark Side said those things. We can't know how any other Dark Knight handles it. That's why I said it's not an unreasonable leap of consideration. Exactly. It makes me wonder how a less heroic person who never tried to play the hero go would deal with that. Like what would happen if someone who was violent from the start developed a darkside? Would a person like that be instantly consumed or would they not even develop a darkside due to the lack of internal conflict? I have so many questions about dark knights and their abilities and they always seem to get different answers every time I ask.
  5. Nah, I feel like if anything it would be increased since you wouldn't be holding anything back anymore.
  6. I don't see why not. It's your power, no one can tell you what to use it for. That said, RPing an "evil" character can really limit your interaction with others depending on how open the character is with their evil habits. You are going to have a hard time finding people who want to be around your character if he is a mustache twirling psycho that can't tone it down for even a second.
  7. Go to Quicksand. Find someone you don't know. Start talking to them ICly. Never talk to them OOCly except for big issues that need to be resolved. Have fun. I actually like getting to know people I rp with OOCly - doing PvE and whatnot with them. Actually being friends. Any reason for the rule? I assume it's to help OP achieve maximum immersion. If you start being friendly with someone on the OOC then you might even start becoming friendlier with them IC even though your character has no reason to.
  8. I usually don't do it unless I am having a character speak inside of an emote. I have to admit it does make me feel like a plebeian when I roleplay with people who do use the quotes for speaking though.
  9. I understand how the soulstones work, but what about the indoctrination. Is there any info on how it's done? There is no example of how its done, but Sidguru was not exposed to a Fallen Knights stone nor was his fellow apprentice when they were training under Sidguru's DRK master. During the period of his childhood when he was adopted to his current age, I believe is the time period in which he was indoctrinated and developed his Darkside. EDIT: Also at Smagon -- The first Dark Knight has self realized his own dark powers and used them to save others. The rest after that are either indoctrinated by a living DRK to their darkside or develop one from picking up a fallen DRK's stone. I don't know, it doesn't make sense that only one guy ever would be able to do that without outside help. Sure, maybe a fresh Dark Knight wouldn't exactly know what to do or how to do it but I don't think it would bar him from developing those powers entirely. But I could be wrong. Like I said, I do not remember the class quests all too well.
  10. There has to be a way for it to naturally occur, otherwise there would have never been a first Dark Knight. Maybe they went into it in the class quests, I don't remember if they did though.
  11. It's a shame there aren't any readily available horse mounts for people to use. Sure we get a plethora of magical horses that come in every color imaginable but no normal looking ones that you do not have to pvp forever to get.
  12. This makes me wonder, can a person that fully embraces their negative aspect have a darkside? Let's say someone admits to themselves that they are a killer, they enjoy killing, and they are not going to stop killing anytime soon. For the sake of this example, let's also assume that this man is also able to keep his urges in check until an "appropriate" time. Would this man have a darkside? Is denying the negative aspect of yourself a prerequisite to having a darkside? What kind of person has the capability of of developing a darkside? Is who gets a magical power based on it entirely random or is there a specific "way" that it can develop in anyone?
