Rhynka

Here's a bit of story I typed up for Rhynka to flesh out her experience as the era came to an end. I hope you all like it! :love: [align=center]Unbroken[/align] [align=center]A Timeless Promise[/align] Upon the ground broken and discarded a daughter of the sun lie. Rich red warmth raced from a series of fatal wounds struck deep upon stomach, chest, and face alike equal in depth. A crystal of azure chimed and flickered, dangling from a neck as pale as the moon. Sapphire eyes looked desperately upon the situation as fire surged from behind the man who refused to retreat standing near. The crystal hummed weak but persistent while a girl pale as the moon she kept dear chanted feverishly. “Help us-Help us!” Her meek voice drowned in sorrow continued to whisper as she loomed over the Seeker girl whose glassy green irises stared dead and blind at the flaming heavens above. Her alabaster hands soiled in thick gobs of clotting blood pressed harder to the Seeker’s chest, as the crystal about her neck began to sing of tranquility, its glow now consistent and unwavering. The hallow reflection was bold upon those glossy green eyes of a loving face framed with silvery hair. A streak of light cracked vertical upon the Keeper’s face, mirroring the wound splitting the Seeker’s face in two. In that moment a flicker of thick lashes resulted in a blink, words came garbled from the Seeker’s lips, blood bubbling up from with them. “Yo…u..ll-die.” The Seeker desperately warned. A last deep breath filled the Keeper’s lungs as her chest split with pure astral aether. In spite of the warning the response from the Seeker birthed a smile of candid joy on the Keeper’s lips. The light washed over like a flood, the man who bore witness shielded his eyes with heavily armored forearms. “I’m sorry this happened to you…” A small voice echoed like the rings of a single tear drop billowing wide over a clear pool of bittersweet sorrow, enough to fill several lifetimes. As the Seeker girl sat in the absolute center of this oasis of infinite tears the worry of life and death could not reach her. Another trickle fell from the round tip of the chocolate skinned Seeker’s nose to add to the collection below. “Do you like it here?” the familiar voice spoke, a warm presence at the Seeker’s back. Tucking her knees defensively to her chest she nodded, and hid her face upon them. “I like it here…” The Seeker said in a childlike voice. Her arms hugged tight around her shins. “I want to stay here.” “You know he needs you, right?” “He’s the only one.” “Is it best to be eternally needed by one, or circumstantially needed by many?” The familiar voice chimed with optimism. “I’m sorry they hurt you…” An ivory hued hand penetrated the surface of the pool they were suspended atop of. “These are for you as is all the love and hope I shed them with… Every last drop is for you.” “Are you still sad?” “Not at all, silly!” “Then I can stay here?” “For just a little longer.” “Will he be waiting?” A head of long silver hair shook side to side. “No, but he’ll return, I promise.” “Please don’t take him.” The small Seeker choked out in grief. “Don’t cry it’s only for a little while!” The compelling voice soothed over. In that instant the Seeker felt the comfortable surface of the water give way and consume her. A hand desperately shot up as she sank, looking upon the Keeper’s face, and that unique smile beaming like the persistent glow of the full moon against the desolate black of a tragic eve. “Don’t take him!!” Her voice shrieked ragged as eyes snapped wide open, the dead weight of her savior, the Keeper girl laid warm over the Seeker. Her hand was reaching desperately to the man being consumed with light. As the last slivers of divine light consumed the man’s face a final word of love formed on his smiling lips which resonated strong in her ears. The Seeker was finally aware of the answers her heart long sought. With teary topaz eyes the Seeker relaxed, her arm moving around her treasured friend, dead from the wounds that should have been her own. With heavy lids she ascended into a peaceful sleep that would last for days on end. When she’d wake, Rhynka took to clawing the earth till her fingertips and knuckles bleed and her palms were worn raw. In her somber solitude she carved a worthy grave for a friend that was unlike any other she’d know again. “I understand… Your rapture, your sorrow is mine to carry now. Thank you, for guiding me from the dark into the light I never knew.” Her weary body fell on the heap of earth with a content smile glittering bright on her lips, hefty eyes lids slid over eyes shining of renewed hope as she rested for the long enduring wait ahead of her. She knew he would return and she would wait, standing against whatever fate the twelve could use to sway her devotion. Like a rock of ages she would weather all, as unmovable for him as he had always been for her.

Because these two don't seem uneasy or afraid to voice their opinions. So far people have gone back at these two to defend Crystalline. Weather it was polite or not, if this is supposed to be a thread to let people express their opinions. Let them express these opinions and not be met with any defense unless the thread is about to be closed and all is being clarified by the original poster. Not doing this will just result in a huge debate over LS/RPC politics which I don't think you intended, Eva. To stay on topic I'll give my opinion. I judge individuals based on how they represent themselves but do not judge the LS they come from based on their actions alone. (Several from the same shell giving bad impressions can make me wary of an LS though!) Many will judge individuals on their impressions of them and it can also carry over to the linkshell they represent. Wanting to or not, every pearl holder you have represents the LS. It is the leader's job to make sure they aren't letting people have false assumptions or are poorly representing your linkshell. I think instead of trying to weed out who is saying what or whatever people go on about rumors you need to turn your ear inward and see if such rumors are true or not. If they are true, hand out discipline as is necessary to involved members. If they're not, shrug it off because when you're big people will spread rumors no matter what if no one in your shell is doing this then don't worry and let the rumors die. Personally I've yet to really hear rumors about Crystalline. But I don't care for hen house chatter anyway, so maybe I'm deaf to them. I don't really see that myself at all. What I do see is people who are giving opinions, exactly like Eva asked for, but some of them are (understandably) nervous to do so, so they are providing disclaimers. That's exactly what I did when I replied to Everwatch's thread like this. Disclaimer: this is my own experience/opinion, not meant to be bashing, etc. At least, that's what I'm seeing. I hope that no one here feels the need to defend what they're saying. The purpose of this thread for us is to listen to what people are saying, not to make them feel they need to argue points. For those who are concerned or confused about the purpose of this thread.. In the past, when Everwatch sought feedback like this, it did provide information they needed to adjust some policies and methods they used. That's why I encouraged Eva to make this post. So far, the feedback provided has shown us that the wording in our Linkshell post can use some work, because it is giving the wrong impression about us. It has also brought to light the misconception about the leadership of the RPC's involvement in Crystalline, and hopefully cleared it up since only two of our members are also involved in the moderation team, and it's just coincidence like the Blue Skies members. The fact that many of Crystalline's members are heavily involved in the RPC I figured would be a good thing for the shell and encouraging to people to see if they would be interested, but it's surprising to see the perceptions of the "in crowd" and such.. That definitely means there is this air of a clique, which while many of us are friends OOCly, is not something we want to be. While actual recruitment is temporarily closed due to IC, we have kept our website up and encouraged people to join it if they are interested in the pearl. We have a special "Hopeful" status on the website for just that reason. It allows people more access to the forums and the OOC Chatterbox on the site so we can all start to get to know each other even if no one can actually join due to the shell being in this state of development. I'm not sure that many people knew about this option. While I can't agree more with Zizirimu's response to the idea of rumors.. they are what they are. They exist, and they trickle back to people. While making a thread like this isn't about to somehow magically change everyone's opinions or erase rumors, nor is that its purpose, it will help us adjust things such as the text on our LS page and the like so we are more clear in our goals. Hopefully this will help us in future, in organizing inter-LS relationships, our recruitment and events! I for one appreciate everyone's honesty fully thus far! I just worry that a thread made with good intentions is going to go wrong! People are going to defend the shell because they have found friends there and care about it, it's human nature. Just as it's human nature for people to feel edgy about expressing things they've heard or feel if it may have a negative impact on those who understandably care about it. Hell I didn't even notice till now that you were part of Crystalline cause LS controversy and who is in what never usually comes to my attention unless I tend to notice there are many under the same banner exhibiting the same behavior good or bad. (This happens to be a thread about an LS so-yeah I noticed!) I just know that if people have the option to argue or debate opinions it's gonna flood over what really needs to be heard, hence I'm not gonna respond in here again so as not to clutter things up worse!

I have a simple question about how this thread seems to be going. How come an honest opinion was asked for and those who gave it appear to now be defending themselves?

Rhynka Lahoka = No, she wasn't born in the tribe but was taken there during early childhood. Diakhan Lahoka = Not really, she's a half-breed and wasn't always welcome with the rest of the tribe Rhynka was raised by, which they broke off from. Samantha = Yes she's a hyur so I will be giving her a less awkward sounding name. (Still need a last name.) Lahoka is really a thing Diakhan came up with for the rogue clan Rhynka, and Razamir travel with, not sure if it's more a keeper thing to do, but they're a group of gypsy like misfits anyway. Any others I do it will depend on their background and origin. I think my husband will change Razamir to R'zmir on his character name plate but on paper it would be Razamir because trying to make good ties with the city requires some adaptation to any different culture coming in. It's easier to pronounce by looking at probably too.

This could actually be true for any character that has survived horrible physical or psychological trauma. I wouldn't say it's a must for a Garlean soldier, but definitely a nice touch of realism to their personality design. Only reason I say it doesn't have to be a must is because there are probably other characters not of Garlean origin that probably should have that disorder and don't. It really varies on the individual and how they cope with circumstances of extreme trauma. Just like some soldiers IRL suffer from PTSD and others don't, and there are even some people who have never seen war and have extreme cases of it also.

Yeah he's being a butt head in that drawing so the face should fit! Yeah they go back and fourth like that in character often. I'm glad it got a giggle out of you! I usually don't do such bright colors, I think I'm getting used to coordinating it well though... Maybe?

It's very kind of you to make this positive post in light of everything with the poll. I will be rolling a fresh toon on Gilgamesh, and Rhynka will remain on Balmung until the day comes when 1.0 characters can move servers. Then I'll decide which community Rhynka will fit in better, and where my role play style is more welcomed. If nothing else I'll have a stand in temporary toon made for Rhynka (Since she is my main)on Gilgamesh for any interested in RPing with her, and also to help further on the choice of which will be Razamir and my home server. I'll be leaving the final choice to Razamir and his logical views since I get too emotional about those things! I hope to make many friends on both servers before that day comes! Awkward moments while Yssen Van is AFK! While he didn't consent to the prostate exam he did approve me showing the results of how well it went. "If you didn't try to put it back there it wouldn't hurt so bad!" "Think you'll be all right, just no more funny stuff!" The night time desert sky is beautiful at Crescent Cove! Think a wild Kass appeared in the back there! The night time desert sky is also beautiful over the Sagolli (Where the Tribal/clan Seeker's roam.) That's the best ones I got from this beta, the three at Crescent Cove were taken at the get together last weekend, enjoy!

I've decided with the server thing I will be rolling an alt on the other server. I have no idea what has taken place that make people passionate about the alternate server thing, I would rather just observe and experience the good and bad of both sides before making a choice. I can't move Rhynka anywhere for now, so I'd like to just experience balmung and other server's RP and take my time coming to a conclusion. Good luck to both sides of this, I look forward to many experiences with both servers, I am sure making a choice will be very difficult when the time comes.

If he's an alchemist I'm sure you can improv a lot of his shady goods with creative thinking. With botany I'm sure he could find some interesting plants that are probably toxic in some mind altering fashion! Even special ethers for people who are addicted to more arcane things. Rhynka sticks to moko grass and cloves so I don't think he could sell her anything unless it was poison to settle a vendetta. Welcome to the RPC, I look forward to seeing you in game and meeting IC sometime!

She has the pointy hat already, as well as a bard af hat. She's not a thaumaturge but she knows conjury which could help make neat smoke shapes!

That's keeper abuse! We cant have that. Plus I doubt he would agree to that.. more like her chasing him throwing daggers at him as he ran away. No one said he had to consent, she's bigger than him and can run faster than him! Consent is just a trivial detail!! Besides, secretly he loves every minute of it!!! On the serious side though this is an actual game in the lore too. Ever seen the leve "Momodi's Dancing Daggers"? Razamir found it and the info, but it is an interesting concept.

I think Dia'khan should throw daggers at Kojin... Yes I said AT, just because it'd be funny to watch the scrawny lil keeper boy dance around whailing and dodging them! She'd heal any owies he got, promise!!

Have you seen some of the Ul'dah story up to 20 or so? Ul'dah can be a frightening place if you're not rich or powerful. Pay attention to the quests in the game, there is a light and dark side to the game. Aside from that, Rhynka isn't too scratched up because Razamir is quick to throw himself in the way, he's her meat shield. She does have a very furry set of brows and velvety facial stripes as she's a clan miqo'te and not a city one so I wanted her to look more exotic and feral.
