First off, which server do you play on? Secondly, what city-state do you prefer, or which is your FC tied to? If Gilgamesh, then Ul'dah has around 4-5 RP FCs in Ward 3 of the Goblet. I've just started building up my FC house in Ward 4 of the Lavender Beds in Gridania. Though there aren't many houses there, another would help lead the way to expanding the area for RP and thereby expanding the number of places for RPers to go when in different cities. All but one of my characters are female - which should I bring! *Miqo'te flailing worried emote* Somebody help me decide! (Obviously could step out and come as another, but still not sure which) Missed the first event because of...something or other, but would very much like to come this time around for a girls' night, gives me a good excuse to 'let their hair down' and RP.

So we'll see how it all is! I played the Wildstar beta this past weekend, and apart from the really nifty costume mechanic, I couldn't really find a lot of "RPness" to the game. While in FFXIV your character's head tilts to look at people when you click on them, there's the emote for talking and the basic list of emotes are themselves seemingly more fluid. Now, I really enjoyed my time in Wildstar, and am considering getting it, but could you please tell me more of this RP button and other additional RP features you know of?

As much as I've been longing for Thief (and Ninja), I have to bring this up as Thancred's knives have been mentioned frequently in this thread: Thancred is a Bard, but he uses throwing knives instead of the bow/harp combination Bards have been shown to wield. In battle he is treated as a Gladiator. I highly doubt they'll change the major NPCs' class/jobs around (even though they don't all use the appropriate weapons or gear). Apart from that - new races/classes/jobs (and Leviathan-egi) please SE! Also, for us on Gilgamesh, our server's namesake is in the game and making grown men cry!

The house will be going up sometime this week. Since Shade runs the local RP tavern in Ul'dah, the FC house will be just for show as there is a pile of money that has been marked for house creation. Ward: TBD

Since I am currently in a creative writing class this thread caught my attention instantly - especially since I LOVE LOVE LOVE creating characters (have roughly 100+ in my head over multiple IPs and some of my own). Before the game launched I created probably 20 characters, major, secondary, tertiary, playable toons and characters simply to buff the playable's backstories. This is the first character I came up with, sadly he did not make it into the game as I was not impressed with THM in beta: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Lizzo_Trange In creating Lizzo I had a generalization of the character in my head for a few years (he's based roughly on a 'faceless' character from FFTA who was a BLM). His actual characterization has changed multiple times to fit whatever I wanted to try to fit him in and thankfully with 14's great lore (and also being a FF game with the option of being a BLM again) I was able to create a backstory that wove several aspects of his multiple versions from my head into one person. It allowed me to make him a minor noble, bring in the death of his father, go further with his family (sister, mother, brother, brother-in-law and nephew were given names and backstories of their own), friends were created based on shadowy figures I had in my head (specifically Crowe - another character who always with him in my head, and again sadly did not make it into the game) who was replaced with his daughter Sigyn, and a magic-based girl friend (Zali'ah). I thoroughly enjoyed fleshing out this character, I loved watching his backstory spill out of my head and onto the screen over a few hours. Being able to make a visualization of him through the character creator also helped (though he didn't come out exactly how I wanted, even with the great amount of options in the CC). Here's to you new character, and the hope that their creation is a fun and exciting time for you! (Sigyn and Zali'ah did in fact make it into the game and have been 50 for a few months.)

While your artwork may be simple to you, I must say, your shading (texturing) on the trees, hat, coat lining and face is fantastic in its simplicity. Well done!

Yay! I have a new character (lvl 20) who is a mobster. If given the right 'incentive' I'm sure he would be more than happy to help you with your problem. Gioluchi Zaluchi can usually be found in Ul'dah, though according to his men he is currently dealing with some business in Drybone. If you wish to contact him, please give a letter to any Moogle Mailman, mention who the message is for, and I'm sure Mr. Zaluchi could see you in the near future.

Well then, if you're going to be on Gilgamesh anyway, I may play along with any number of my characters...as an interaction with your group of adventurers.

Really interesting; I love multiple characters - and having 6 of my own that I bounce between I know it can be a challenge - especially to RP them to the characteristics you want them to have. Love that you have your 'stock' characters/heroes and fill the usual band of adventurers vibe, that's always a great thing to see. If I didn't have my characters (not to mention a floundering FC to lead) I would most definitely join your merry band. Hey all, I have in the making a character who is a mix of the Erebor Dwarves (the Hobbit) and Ninja Hidden Village (similar to those in Naruto). As she is a member of a relatively unknown and ancient 'sect,' I was wanting to make peoples' foothold in the mountainous reaches of Coerthas. Haven't found much lore on the area (excluding Ishgard) and never played 1.0 (since it seems the area has changed dramatically since then). If anyone would be kind enough to lay out some info that'd be great.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see too much RP in Ul'dah anymore. Every now and then there are a few people chatting in the Quicksand, but compared to Limsa, it's pretty quiet. I don't RP much as much as I should, or how much I claimed/planned to, but I want to start to fix that. When I was creating my characters before and just after launch I made plans for several of my characters to live in and around Ul'dah as it seemed to be the big epicenter of the game. I would like to do some more RP with my various characters, but seeing as 3 of them are from Ul'dah I find I must travel abroad to do any RP. If you're from Ul'dah or somewhere in Thanalan, please drop me a line; it would be great to RP some with my main - Parker Connor, or Alisceon Drake (wildwood elezen) / H'uang Fan (seeker miqo'te).

I'm not sure if this would be to your liking as the character(s) that I have in mind would pit you older (roughly 23 or 24), and would make you an older sibling to my (an a friend of mine's) twin characters. Also, this idea is coming from Gilgamesh (not sure what server you prefer). For all of you thinking of going the 'cheap' route and are looking at the 'Small' FC houses, I've stepped into a few and, though they were nicely decorated with interesting looking furniture (and dividing walls ), I was shocked and saddened to find that the size of 'Small' should be changed to 'Minute', 'Puny' or 'Minuscule'. By using the 'walk' function I deduced that the interior size of the 'Small' houses are roughly the same size as the rooms in Inns (there is no basement or second floor like there is in Medium houses). Though the width/lengths are different (Inn rooms are longer and thinner, while the FC houses are square) they are about equal. While the Inn rooms only have a few items decorating them, the FC houses can have up to 20 (or more, can't remember) items in them. This leaves the interior of the houses rather cluttered and leaves room for probably 10-15 (at the extreme most) people inside. Just a heads-up guys.

FC housing has been released! The Den is going, albeit with very very few members, but it is still going. To coincide with Driftwood Coast, I have been looking around the Goblet in Ul'dah and am liking plots 14/15 for the Den. Though small (and still out of my price range - thanks SE), I think it would be a nice little place that could aptly be called a 'Den'. Not too far from DC's hopeful place, it would be a short walk for rpers of that company to come and hang out and do some tavern rp. I am still looking for interested rpers to come and join in the fun (of raising funds ) as well as making plans for future rp events that could be hosted. Manager (Officer) and Staff (Member) spots open to any as well. *Remember* the Den is for all Rpers - to host our own events, to host your events and for you to come in and RP anytime!
