I'm with you guys on the character creator - that was something I was really looking forward to...sadly I didn't get into the beta. Hopefully the benchmark 2 will have the creator so we can muck around with it before phase 4.

Hey Fire, welcome! As a newbie to this site myself, it's nice to see an ever-growing number of us. And another person playing a Roegadyn is great! You should check out the character wikis and make one up for Fire Olive. Give us some "non-classified" info about her and get to know other people's characters.

I would have to agree with Eva. I did this exact thing in WoW with my Night Elf who was raised by humans. It was difficult, that is to say awkward (which was good, because that's how her life would have been), but a lot of fun at the same time. I will kind of be doing the same thing as you with my Roegadyn, growing up alongside my main (and his "npc" siblings) and their mutual friend (both Hyur). Though her biological father will have technically raised her, he was always immersed in the melting pot of all the other races, so to that, so was she.

Reading through this thread I would like to throw out an example from my characters' wikis and get feedback on it to see if I have a relatively good grasp on healing. My main character was slashed with a spear during a fight in the past. My alt (a conjurer) later used her healing skills to attempt to heal the wound. The wound was cleaned and sealed through the healing, but the main character now has a scar.

my alt Sigyn will definitely be interested in this, as an assistant in any capacity as well as a performer (though she is shy). Keep me updated Xen and I will OOCly love to aid in helping you write!

I would, but seeing as I'm in a video game art program, I should really do my own art - still a fantastic idea though!

Looking up my game place (EB Games in Canada), shows that I can make a preorder online but it doesn't look like I can get the CE - may go to the actual store to see if I can preorder the CE there. If not, might have to go the SE site.

Thanks a lot Alothia. That is quite an interesting item to have in a game. After playing WoW and other such MMOs by simply whispering people or guild chatting them, something like this has a lot of potential for RPing.

I've noticed several people mentioned Pearls, and handing them out to people. As I never played 1.0, could someone please fill me in on what Pearls are and what they're used for? Thanks!

Hello, I'm new to the game (never having played 1.0), though I do have an alright grasp of Final Fantasy. MMORPG Experience - I've played WoW, SWTOR, GW and GW2. As I said, I've never played a FF MMO, though am quite excited to explore this game's world. RP Experience - I created an RP guild with several other people in SWTOR, but only some of us truly attempted to roleplay. Guild Wars didn't have much ability to RP, so when the GW2 came out I again joined, and then created an RP guild on the unofficial North American RP server. Again, few people attempted to RP, though when I did find people who wanted to it was quite entertaining. Final Fantasy has always intrigued me, and though I don't know every minute detail about it I do have an arching understanding of the classes, worlds and monsters. I am very exciting to explore the world the creators of this game have created and RPing through it will immerse me even more! Character Ideas - I've had a character in mind for several years after playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (what a coincidence!) of a black mage name Lizzo. I've created a backstory, family, friends (other characters I want to create and plays as) and history for him. Trying to make a reason why I'll be playing a beginner character I've opted to have him be an expatriot of Garlemald and not having a part in the battle prior to 2.0 meaning he was not sent into the future, but lived through the 5 years. I've begun to post this character in the Character section and will be updating it as I go. Sooner or later I will also begin to create things for the other characters I have come up with. How did you find us? I was looking up the game and came upon a forum where one of the posts was discussing RPing in ARR, it peeked my interest and after looking through some of the forums and character profiles I decided to join. What level of RP are you looking for, Light, Medium or Heavy? I'd like to say that I'm Medium/Heavy, but I guess that depends on who I'm with, and how much they wish to RP. I'm looking forward to hosted events and perhaps even attempting to go up in the ranks of a Linkshell. Real life - At the moment I'm off school for the summer, but will be returning to a Video Game Art program in the fall. This is one of the reasons why I'm drawn to this game, the lore behind it is something I wish to study to learn how to create lore of my own for any future game I may work on and also to enjoy the art that is in this beautiful looking game. Until I find a summer job I'll be roaming the forums and hoping for an acceptance to the beta. Other than that, I enjoy creating my own characters for fanfiction and original work. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone here, and having lots of fun RPing in and outside the game.

I would definitely support this idea. My main, Lizzo Trange would fit this "darker" Free Company well as he is a Garlean ex-patriot and former pirate. Part of his character revolves around his search for the instigators of a coup that claimed his father's life. Lizzo is a 'shady' and calculating individual who would fit well into the second, scholarly, faction. If you need any help building this thing, or just want to bounce ideas around let me know.

Just sent in my application for the beta late last week, hope to get in to test this amazing game (and to put my new computer through its paces.)
