1. I think you need a lesson in reading the whole post as well. The emphasis is mine. The drama was between this person & linkshells involved. The "sabotage" was brought up as a result of the drama that was being discussed: not the primary topic of discussion. Further, Kylin offered to disclose the contents of the discussion, only redacting the persons involved.
2. Then just make a rule that observers are NOT ALLOWED TO CHAT IN THE MEETING CHANNEL. I could have sworn I emphasized this earlier. Why go through all that trouble? The meeting is for Linkshell leaders to communicate with each other regarding cross-linkshell issues. It's not to dictate policy to the members of the RPC. It's not meant to be a forum to discuss issues with the community at large.
3. Well no one's out to get anyone, because no one can get anyone. It's ridiculous to think that anyone in this game and it's community has legitimate power over anything other than their own character. That being said, I want transparency, not because I think they're the government and trying to conspire against me, but because it seems very cliquish to me to have secret conversations which could possibly be about some of us and the linkshells we affiliate with and keep it a secret. It's a manners thing, not a security thing. To me, it comes down to "What makes you better than the rest of us? Oh, right: nothing." I understand the need for organization between linkshells in a roleplay capacity so I'm not going to belly ache about the meetings themselves, but there's nothing so important in there that us puny mortals have to be left out. That's how I feel about it at least. Maybe I'm crazy. So then it doesn't matter if people have secret conversations about you or your character. You said it yourself: Not one of us has ever claimed to be better then anyone else. I'd suggest you stop trying to victimize yourself. The linkshell leaders are trying to facilitate an enjoyable experience for their members. I'd have to pose the question: why are you joining the linkshell if you don't trust the leader to have your best interests at heart? If left out, you mean not being able to see the chat go on why it happens; have you seen the Skype OOC chatroom? It's practically unmanageable. There would be no way to have a structured meeting with that many people talking and questioning and interrupting.
4. I think I'm going to have an unpopular opinion here, but I don't see the big hullabaloo about the need for "transparency." They are not the RP Police. It's been pretty clearly stated that they aren't here to enforce or make rules, only to facilitate communication between Linkshells. So why do people feel the need to know everything that goes on between meetings? The only thing I can think of is people wanting to rubberneck and /popcorn at potential drama or paranoia the that Big Bad Linkshell Leaders are out to get them.
5. I would wager that there are just more Hyur's then other races. Also, does anyone else but me keep seeing Gaius van Baelsar as "Gaius Baltar?"
6. We are starting off as just a linkshell. Depending on member interest, we may form into a Free Company if we have the numbers & desire. But the Linkshell will always remain our primary IC communication tool, and members of the linkshell who are in different Free Companies won't be forced to join ours if we do become a Free Company..
7. Quick notes: Updated main character status Updated Linkshell affiliation
8. You are not alone. Many of us have known what's it's like to be alone. We seek to fight the chains of loneliness. By the grace of the Twelve, we have found each other, and we now champion the bonds of friendship as the Spectrum Guard. The Spectral Guard are a group of friends and comrades who gathered together to champion tolerance, acceptance, and have a good time. Out of character, we are a group of LGBT/Friendly people who enjoy RP. We're not a strict organization. We ask that you be friendly and accepting. If you're interested, check out our site at http://spectrumguard.enjin.com/home. Our officers are Corin Winterborne (Captain) and Gerik Aston (Vice Captain). The Spectrum Guard maintains a headquarters & lounge in Camp Bronze Lake. Quick note: You (IC/OOC) do not have the be LGBT to join our linkshell, just a roleplayer. We ask that you understand and accept the fact that the majority of us are Random beefcake shot!
9. I'm glad someone got my reference! I was all ready to answer the famed Horse Sized Duck question and everything.
10. Were those...limit breaks around the 3 minute mark! EAT METEOR!
11. Roegadynnnnnnnnn /humps leg  Welcome! Thank you. Mostly certain now that he'll be the one in Gridania / The Black Shroud, hopefully making some friends with the Wildwood Elezen and Moonkeeper Miqo'te. (I don't know how to double-quote or make it look like I do. ) Green Mana is superior mana. xP Green/White is my favorite though, I loved the Selesnya Conclave in all of their zealous brainwashy nature-y goodness. Go Team Selesnya! I do prefer Green/White, but I tend to flame a bit and usually end up with a Naya deck of some sorts.
12. I. Basic Info Characters: Rin'to Rakutan, Corin Winterborne Primary character: Corin Linkshells: The Spectrum Guard Primary RP linkshell: The Spectrum Guard II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium/Heavy Views on RP combat and injuries: Anything debilitating that couldn't be easily cured with a Cure(+) spell should be discussed beforehand with me. Views on IC romance: I'm not adverse to a relationship in character, but it would have to develop as a result of other RP. I prefer my characters to develop organically. I'll have to say that my characters usually end up gay, since I'm not really not that good at heterosexuality. Sorry! Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Unfortunately, Rin'to's clan were victims of Dalamud, so there would be no family to speak of. Corin's tribe has exiled them, so any clan ties would probably be adverse, but not unwelcome. Views on lore: I prefer to stay as close to the lore as possible. I don't mind some flexibility to account for in-game mechanics, etc. but let's not get craycray. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Say, shout, and linkshells are RP-based. I prefer to stick to non-OOC channels, except for necessary ((short comments)). III. Other Info Country:United States (Wisconsin) Timezone:Central Contact info:Private Message? [glow=blue]~Special announcements can be found in the posts below~[/glow]
13. Welcome fellow new person! I too also prefer the greener colors in Magic: the Gathering!
14. Oh Moon Moon... Know your meme: Moon Moon
15. Hi, my name is Nate. I come from the wastelands of WoW and FFXI and am eagerly waiting the release of FFXIV:ARR and hope to make some new friends/RP buddies in the meantime. I'm not new to roleplaying, (Tabletop & WoW) but am pretty dusty. I look forward to meeting you guys! --MMORPG background I started with Everquest, then moved to FFXI. From there, WOW and the other games but honestly I'm hoping to settle here. --RP experience I started as a pretty pretty blood elf paladin. I got better. It gets better. --Character ideas/info I know, it's probably a trope right now, but I have my heart set on playing a Keeper of the Moon Mi'qote. Poor guy, he lost his home and his family when Dalmud came crashing down, and he blames himself for REASONS. He set off to rebuild his life and is making his way towards Ul'duh to study the occult arts. --How did you learn about the coalition? Google is my friend! All hail google! --What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? I'd say medium-heavy. I'm pretty silly in real life, and tend to play silly characters, but I tend to see public channels (say, yell, linkshell) as things my characters are saying. (without ooc brackets, of course) --Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc) Well, I'm Nate. I'm 30 years old. Single (Hit me up boys!). I work for a game developer, doing customer support and quality assurance. (fancy name for a GM) No, sadly not for Squeenix or a major publisher, but the job is pretty cool. I like video games, board games, children's card games (ok, MTG is really not a childrens card game, but screw the rules I have money) My very first video game that I owned and played to completion was Final Fantasy X and will always hold a place in my heart. (yes, I'm a late bloomer) Feel free to hit me up for no details. I bite, but only lovingly.
