Hello everyone! Our Free Company, XI:7, has recently changed its focus. Before we just focused on RP, but we've decided to become a PvE/RP Company. This basically means that we are Roleplayers that play the game to its fullest, whether in dungeons, trials, raids, or whatever. We had our old page from 2.0 days moved into the Chronicles so that we could start fresh. With Heavensward on the near horizon, and a lot of new players starting the game, we wanted to extend an invitation to those who might be still looking for a home. We love helping new players get to know the game, and playing with old players alike as we continue to have fun and enjoy the adventures in Eorzea. So if you think we might be a good home for you, just let us know. If you have questions feel free to ask here, or send me a message. You can see a bit more about us here on the RPC: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=11834 Or at our website: http://xi7.guildlaunch.com/ Thank you for reading, and we'll see you in the skies come Heavensward!

XI:7 no longer exists. We have decided to lay the company to rest and play on a different server. If you're ever looking for RP on Jenova, look us up!

This was more entertaining than I should admit.

We have our 3 male contestants. The show will go on! Messages will be sent out shortly to all the participants. We will keep the entries open until about 8 am Pacific/11 am Eastern tomorrow morning. If the male category remains just the 3, they will not have an elimination process and will get to showcase each of their outfits.
-
One more update! Forgot to actually announce the location. We'll be going to Camp Bronze Lake! For those of you wishing to watch the show, feel free to come in your swimsuits and hang out in the nice water while we hold the event.
-
Hey everyone! First off, thank you to all who've submitted entries. Its going to be a tough one to judge. We'll be sending out more information to the contestants tonight to be ready for tomorrow. Unfortunately our participation in the male category is very low. If we do not get at least 3 entries by tomorrow morning, we'll be forced to shut down that half of the contest. We'll try to drum up a couple more entries so we can still hold it. And a less important note, I went ahead and updated the original post with some pictures wearing the 3 categories. One, so its made absolutely clear of the basic expectation of the category, and two why not? We like to dress up, too.
-
So... We totally forgot it was Mother's Day on the day of the event. To accommodate some of our people and anyone else who have plans that day, we moved it back one week to the 17th. I apologize for the confusion, but on the bright side it'll give more time for entries.

New housing wards come after Ishgard? What does that mean exactly? Is that just a bit of a mistranslation? I'm going to keep an eye on more that comes out on that. With them linking SO MUCH on housing (airship crafting) I'm really holding out hope they just release the shit out of new wards.

Heavensward Jobs, and Au Ra Lore now available
Gar replied to Avalt Laguz's topic in FFXIV Discussion
First and foremost, I'm really happy with what we know about Dark Knight. Paladin/Knight has been my schtick since I was a little geek kid discovering the world of Fantasy and RP. XIV's Paladin was super disappointing to me. Its great if you like/don't mind Ul'dah and certain aspects, but its so specific. I'm still enamored by the "do universal good for the world" sorta Paladin. (But yes, I could have gone more of the "Free Paladin" route, but I just didn't feel like it had enough oomph). So I'm totally hopping on the band wagon and playing Dark Knight. Depending on how much mitigation I can drain from it, I might use it as my raid class, or if not just keep playing Paladin (hallelujah second combo coming!) and be a giant overcompensation sword wielding entity ICly. Question about the Au Ra though. With the little morsel we know now, it seems like Au Ra could have easily been in Eorzea in small numbers for some time now, right? I don't plan on making one, but I know there's been a lot of debate whether they could be in a timeline pre-Heavensward. I guess to me this says that people wanting to re-work some characters without losing some of their precious memories/interactions with family and friends can pull something off. But is that how most people will see it, or will there still be people arguing with each other over character origins? -
I'll be hitting up your recruiters list when I can get back in game. I'd love the opportunity to help more people with some of the earlier end-game content. I hope it won't be a problem, but there are some fights I still haven't done that I'm reserving the maiden voyage for. (Turns past T9 and some of the Ex Primals) Once I've cleared them with my static I'll be more than happy to lend a hand on those, as well, I just don't want to sound like a dick for not offering help on some fights. But I look forward to being in the LS. I'll start looking you guys up when I can.

Update 4/10/2015: We've decided to take the FC back to its original roots of being a "ShinRa" type corporation for the good guys. Looking back over all our changes, our hopes were to fit the needs of our current membership, however as our membership has gone through different generations we thought it best to build on and continue stories and themes we started way back before the game came out. Taking what we've learned in the last couple of years, we are re-introducing the "Suits" of XI:7. This time around we've decided to focus on a more universal antagonist group that is easier to mold and jump into, ie the Empire. We'll be writing specific Imperial sub-units and enemies for storylines, but players will be able to easily host their own efforts against the Empire in any way they see fit. And as always, the Suits will go up against any enemy they need to, leaving room for variations and personal story progressions. We'll be keeping the popular aspects of our last, more relaxed model. The Asylum will remain an Inn & Tavern for more casual RP and the social center for XI:7 Agents. The Forerunner crew will still bring people in that may not want to be a full fledged Suit. We'll still be developing our D&D-style roll system, though we'll be using it less for big story events and instead using the basic in-game /rolls to move action along and get more plot in.

Hey folks, we're still looking to try out some more melee people. We took a week hiatus since I left town (and my beautiful internet) but we're getting back into the swing of things. Reply here or send me a message. Hope to hear from you!

Hello everyone! The XI:7 raid static has unfortunately lost one of our own to the responsibilities of real life. So we are now looking to fill the spot with either a Monk or a Ninja. If you are interested here is some information to know: We get together every Monday night at 6pm through 9pm Mountain to clear 8-man content such as Coil and Ex Primals. Our ultimate goal is to become proficient enough at all the fights that we might help others in the community clear content and get items that they may not have a chance at because of the toxic PuG community. If you're looking to just burn through content to get your drops and log off, unfortunately this team is not for you. The team is currently at Turn 9 (SCoB Turn 4). Once we make a final decision on our last teammates, we'll be working to down that then afterwards alternate between farming Second Coil for gear, downing Extreme Primals, and getting through Final Coil. We hope to get through Final Coil before the expansion hits so that our team is ready for the new raid content as it comes out. We will be holding "try outs" for anyone interested in the spots. We'll be bringing people in to run content with us during our usual raid time until we find someone with the skill and attitude that fits our team. Replying to this thread is NOT a guarantee of a spot. So even if there are other people posting, please feel free to post here or send me a message with your information so we can add you to the try out schedule. Though we're not super strict on current ilevel (especially since come the 31st i120s/i130s will be showered on everyone) we do need someone ready for Second Coil with enough Accuracy to be effective. Monk or Ninja MUST be your main class. We expect everyone in the team to be gearing their classes out by capping tomes every week and any other weekly ilevel activities. With our casual style, gear becomes even more important to clear content. You must have a basic knowledge of your class. We're not elitists, but we do expect you to know how to use your class. If you'd like some help better learning your job, we're more than happy to lend a hand! As long as you are willing to learn, we will run you through content and help you master your class. You HAVE NOT cleared Turn 9. We don't care if you haven't stepped foot into any turn of Coil. We can and will help you learn and catch up. We want everyone on the same page and working together as our team. We require a good attitude. We work hard to keep a friendly environment. Wipes are going to happen. A lot. They are going to happen more often if the team has a hostile environment. If you make a mistake, laugh about it, learn from it, and try again. If there are things being done that are hindering the progression overall, the raid leaders will deal with it. Under no circumstances is it alright to call out your fellow raiders. If wipes frustrate you, then you might not be a good fit. You must have TeamSpeak. We need you to AT LEAST be able to hear us, though being able to speak with us is preferred to not put strain on the raid communications. No one will judge you on what your voice sounds like, and if they do they will be dealt with. Skype is preferred. We send raid notifications and strategy videos through a group conversation. It is also one of the easiest ways of letting us know when you can't make it. If for whatever reason you cannot have Skype, it is up to you to provide alternative methods of contact, look up videos, and understand that you may not get all the details of what is going on and why. You must be available on the raid night for the full three hours. Life happens, we understand that completely. Sometimes we'll start late if work lets out late for someone. Or we might end a raid early occasionally if we deem it necessary. However, being consistently late, absent, or leaving early is not acceptable. You are expected to be accountable to your team. We only raid once a week, so taking away that time is not alright under constant circumstances. We want you to be willing to help. Our wish is to have our teammates be active members in the community. We're not expecting you to drop everything and help someone every time its asked. However, showing up once a week is not going to build trust and friendship with your teammates. Be a roleplayer! This might seem a given considering the forum, but we want to make clear that the team is made by roleplayers and for roleplayers. If you read our last recruitment thread you know that we are looking for someone to invest into long term. Our team is a family. We're here to have fun and chug through the hard content together. We want our team to be solid and ready for the adventures of Heavensward. So if you think you'd be a good fit, let us know. You can reply to this thread, send me a message, or get a hold of me in-game on Garryson Shipkeeper. We can then schedule a night for you to come try out and meet the team. If you have any questions, please ask. We look forward to meeting you.

Hey everyone, wanted to give a quick update on the process. We've got try outs scheduled for the next two weeks so after those we'll be coming back to schedule more for anyone interested. If you still want to throw your hat into the ring, jet let us know.

The Summit of Free Companies (Location Set)
Gar replied to Erik Mynhier's topic in Chronicled Events
Garryson Shipkeeper and Aireiel Shipkeeper will represent XI:7 if you'll have us. If you won't have us, we'll start our own meeting. With blackjack. And hookers. -
Exactly what Freelance said. It doesn't matter what FC you're in. XI:7 is just runnin' the show. I should mention along with that, it'd be preferred to have a LS open to join our OOC LS (mostly to just keep in touch throughout the week/part of the happy happenings) but I won't stress it as an absolute required. We've got a Warrior trying out next Monday it looks like (3/23) so if you're off early enough we can try for 3/30 (if you're off early that week) or the next week permitting. Just let us know what works best for you and we'll work something out.

Hello everyone! The XI:7 raid static is looking to fill a couple of spots. We are currently looking for a Scholar for the support healer position and a Warrior for the off-tank position. If you're interested in joining, here is some of the information: We get together every Monday night at 6pm through 9pm Mountain to clear 8-man content such as Coil and Ex Primals. Our ultimate goal is to become proficient enough at all the fights that we might help others in the community clear content and get items that they may not have a chance at because of the toxic PuG community. With our casual style, gear becomes even more important to clear content. You must have a basic knowledge of your class. We're not elitists, but we do expect you to know how to use your class. For Scholars that means knowing how to use and utilize your fairy, knowing when/how to use Sacred Soil, etc. For Warriors that means understanding CD management, Wrath management, and knowledge of the enmity system. If you'd like some help better learning your job, we're more than happy to lend a hand! As long as you are willing to learn, we will run you through content and help you master your class. (As a side note, it will not be expected pre-Heavensward, but come the expansion the Warrior will be expected to have a DPS class leveled up in case of a solo-tank situation. What it is or what ilevel it is isn't a big concern. Just something.) You HAVE NOT cleared Turn 9. We don't care if you haven't stepped foot into any turn of Coil. We can and will help you learn and catch up. We want everyone on the same page and working together as our team. We require a good attitude. We work hard to keep a friendly environment. We're doing our best to create a family that tackles content together and has fun. This means we need people who fit the dynamic. We're looking for long term. I dream of a team that stays together through patches and gets the most out of our Final Fantasy experience. So! If you think you're a fit, let us know. Reply to the thread, send me a message, or get a hold of me in-game on Garryson Shipkeeper. Once we get in touch with you we'll schedule some time for you to come run with us and meet the team. We look forward to meeting you!

Thanks to all those who were interested, but unfortunately we have finalized both our mage and melee spots. If something happens and we need to fill some more spots, I shall be back!
-
I will definitely nab you next time I see you and we can talk. I didn't mention it in the original post, but we do plan on going through all the Ex Primals together. Our basic stance is "Do all the end-game stuff together so we don't have to do it with ragers." But yeah, I'm glad you're interested. I will be in touch soon.
-
We're not going to force you to level faster than you can, so don't worry about it too much. We'll run you through some dungeons and whatnot, too. I don't know if I'll be back in-game tonight but I should be around for the majority of tomorrow. Which of your characters is it that you're interested in raiding with? Just let me know and we'll get in touch when we're both around and introduce you to the crew.

Hello everyone! The XI:7 static is looking for a couple more RPers to fill out our ranks. We are currently seeking a Black Mage or Summoner, and a Dragoon or Ninja. Our raid night is not finalized yet (we will lock everything down once we know the full team's schedule) but we're most likely looking to raid Saturday nights. There are some specific requirements we're looking for in people. First and foremost we're looking for helpful, friendly players. We're RPers, and while we plan to complete content, we aren't angry hardcore raiders that flip out at every wipe. We're looking to have fun and get shiny loot. If you constantly butt heads with the group, unfortunately we'll go a different direction. This next one may seem strange, but we highly, highly prefer someone who has not cleared turns of Coil previously. Not having a level 50 yet is not an issue. Frankly, we've had a lot of issues with people coming in and trying to take over the raid because they've done it with PUGs. Now, let me make it clear that we're absolutely open to different strategies and ideas as we go along. However, stubbornly causing wipes because we're trying it a specific way is unacceptable. As stated before, we're here to have fun. Having cleared some turns isn't a total deal breaker, but it won't count for you while we consider permanent members. We use Teamspeak and it is required to have access to it. You don't need to be able to speak, but you do need to be able to hear us as we call out mechanics and instructions. As for general maintenance requirements, we only ask that you cap out your tomes every week and show up on raid nights unless you have communicated with us in advance. We are more than happy to help you earn your tomes throughout the week. Responding to this thread or sending me a message is not a guarantee into the team. We will be spending some time with anyone and everyone interested to find the best fit. This isn't meant to be exclusive or elitist, but to ensure we find the best fit for our team that will be happy and thrive with us. So if you haven't raided before and are wanting a chance to get into it all, let us know. You can reply to this thread, send me a message here, or contact me in-game on Garryson Shipkeeper.

... Aeylis. We have a small circle of wallflowers who are always itching to make new connections. You two are free to role-play with us. I think were a pretty rad group... ha. Uhm. Also, if you're willing to piggyback me through things so I can gear up Caelia... there's that! Hahaha.. ha.. hahfdfgsdhjfsd We'd love to help you gear out. I could use the Light for my relic anyway. I've been procrastinating. >.> Sorry I didn't get to anyone today. Like Aireiel mentioned we started that LS and after one day we've got like 40 people in it. So we ended up getting to know a bunch of new people. I will start looking for your names, though, I swear.

1/9/2015 Update: Finally got around to updating things to portray things now. Changed things around to build around the "Vanguard" model. Added a Raid tab to show our roster. Pictures of the Asylum are a little old, I'll get around to updating those. The house is less black/purple and more brown/red to fit the increasing "Steampunk-ish" direction the FC is going.

Hahaha, I appreciate all the free offers. Though, shit, I wouldn't be totally against throwing gil at it. (Its like an RP pay phone. Once your time expires, just slide more gil into the slot) But thank you guys for the responses. I'll do my best to catch some of you in-game.
