I want to thank everyone who has been kind enough to give me their opinions on this particular subject. I realize that it's a rather tricky thing to deal with and having all these different viewpoints will no doubt help in the long run of trying to make this event a better and more enjoyable place for people to show off their characters. Again, I can't thank you all enough for the contribution.

Hello everyone! Due to some of the feedback that we've gotten, alongside some of the responses ICly that have occurred, a question has popped up inside of my head. When it comes to tournaments of magic, at what point would you draw the line? To put it bluntly: And what point do you tell someone "No, you can't do that. It's not normal. People won't like you." As some of you may or may not know, I help to run the current magic tournament: "The Magus Invitational" where the original Runestone used to be. I won't lie to you and say that we're not a copy. Yes, to a degree we are. We have our similarities due to the structure in which it operates, but we also have our differences as well. However, that's not the discussion I was hoping for nor the question I was hoping you'd all be kind enough to answer for me. I've watched people, ICly, berate the tournament and what is allowed in it. (The type of magic) Already magic tournaments are not nearly as popular as melee ones. Why that is? Honestly, I wish I knew. Hopefully someone might be able to pop up with an answer for that? Pretty please? Now, I understand that IC does not immediately translate to OOC. Please do not misunderstand me as to think that I'm treating them as one and the same. I say this because I have been told by multiple people that they enjoy the magic tournament and want to see it continued simply because this type of fighting is so rarely seen. They want a place where their magic characters can go and show off, but those same people have to run the risk of being ICly degraded or becoming the center of a witch hunt just because they are trying to be expressive, imaginative, and creative with the magic they display. Before I start to just ramble on: Please, I'd like to know your thoughts about magic and magic tournaments in this game. The point at which you begin to say "No, that isn't right" to an idea about magic that is, by its very nature, boundless in its possibilities.

Thank you very much, everyone! That helped immensely at putting my mind at ease about this. Plus, it gave me a bit more confidence and a touch of lore to be more creative with Lycie'a's future RP.

Good evening, everyone! I'm currently looking for anyone and everyone who would be interested in meeting with my character Lycie'a Cays. He's a Keeper from the Dravanian Hinterlands who has taken up a life of traveling away from his family and his clan to travel alongside merchant caravans and the like. He has a strong desire to see the world and the people in it but, at the same time, he's extremely wary of the ways of society due to his upbringing. That being said: He likes people but, doesn't know how to properly introduce or converse with them. At the moment, he's stuck in Ul'dah with no where to go and no one to call a friend! So, please, come to his rescue or bring him his doom. Either one works really, whatever works for your character. He's no stranger to crime as he doesn't see much a point in upholding laws that he was completely unaware of for most of his life but, he can also play the role of dashing hero if the moment calls for it. (That is, however, very unlikely as he has no strong desire to protect others. Survival of the fittest and all that.) Thank you. ^.^ I already chose to use Keeper and have had it made for a while, I just haven't been able to RP him at all yet. Wanted to make sure I didn't offend anyone on a lore perspective before I used that as part of his origins. Plus, I was interested in seeing if anyone had any particular thoughts on it. I knew the Keepers were primarily part of the Black Shroud and I had the thought one day how likely it would be that there would exist clans outside of that. Particularly in the north. Much like the Seekers with Thanalan and La Noscea. I figured it wouldn't be too much of a problem but, better safe than sorry. Didn't want it to come across as impossible for whatever reason. (Since I'm not too familiar with the lore in regards to that particular area.)

I'm currently is the process of writing a post over in the meeting connections tab but, I wanted to ask a general consensus question beforehand: What is everyone's thoughts on the idea of miqo'te tribes, Keeper or Seeker, living in Dravania? For example: My idea of having a Keeper family living in that grand forest below Idyllshire in the Hinterlands. While, yes, I am aware of the miqo'te who do currently live in the hub and the one in Tailfeather but, from my understanding, they are from southern Eorzea. If I'm mistaken, please do let me know! So, that being said, thoughts? Go! P.S. Please forgive me for having the default cactaur picture. >.< I've yet to decide on how to implement my character into it.

The fact that the suffix exists at all should show that it's perfectly fine. For Keeper families to have that many males is unusual, yes but, that's purely because males are supposed to be such a minority for the race. I'm not entirely sure about the size of most families for Keepers but, the best guess would be a sort of average of three to five. Again, don't quote me on this as it's only based on the little amount of Keeper lore I can remember off the top of my head. Point being: The suffix exists, and while rare, there's nothing to say it can't happen.
