1. It's post like this why people see you as virtually the leader of the Gilgamesh RP community :moogle:
2. So I wrote a poem. It isn't supposed to rhyme or anything, although sometimes it might. As the timeless saying goes, it is what it is. "These Hyur Hands" by Yaein Mayweather - - - Eorzea was never a world written in text, and I may never be able to call myself a scholar. But that’s okay, because I learned with my hands. First, these Hyur hands taught me how to take hold. A dream of a dream I learned how to grasp the thing in between, holding it so tightly until one day, it became part of me. Secondly, these Hyur hands taught me how to plant Rolanberries. And the dirt in my fingernails served as bookmarks for where I last left off in the lesson that... there was nothing wrong with getting your hands dirty. Thirdly, these Hyur hands taught me how to string a bow. To grasp a hilt of a sword was the extension of one’s arm, but the shaft clasped to a bow was the expression of one’s soul. Fourthly, these Hyur hands taught me how to read. So that now I can read my Chocobo's body language no longer lost in translation upon my callused fingers. Fifthly, these Hyur hands taught me about Hyur hands. How our fingers aught to be interlock with the grace that a weaver spins cloth and synthesis a bond where even through failed crafting, it will never be lost. And Sixth, these Hyur hands taught me about me. To hold on to my dreams and never let them go. That there was nothing wrong with getting my hands dirty. To string a bow to defend my heart, country and home. That with these calloused fingers, I may never be a scholar But I can learn with my hands, everything I’ll ever need to know.
3. Yaein delicately wraps up a slice of cake in a sheet of transparent elm paper with the Wild Heart Bakery logo stamped onto it and hands it to the Elezen. She then goes through the same motion for the honey muffin and places it gently into the Miqo'te's hand, leaving the top of the muffin open to the Gridanian elements.
4. I would be interested joining! Yaein will be going the way of the bard once she gets up there in Archery, and it would be nice to play the part of narrator and/or actor with other like minded RPers.
5. I was wondering this too. Would scout parties have been found in Coerthas shortly before the calamity as well?
6. Yaein smiles back at the Khior'a and bows. "Don't worry yourself with price. It's by donation. You pick whatever you want and you pay whatever price you think that the particular item is worth. This way tends to keep most people honest, and no one has to leave feeling as if they didn't get their money's worth. So by all means, feel free to choose."
7. I just want them to add freckles
8. "Favorite? Hmmm...could I fancy you in a piece of Crowned Cake? It's usually served at Ishgardian festivals. It's made of tear-shaped almonds, grounded cinnamon, maple sugar, and tart Faerie apples. All of which is locally grown." Yaein points down to each item as she explains just some of the options. "And if that doesn't interest you, feel free to sample anything that you like. I have some sweet rice cakes, honey muffins, heart chocolates, acron cookies with pineapple chunks, and Rolanberry cheese sandwiches served with mini Knight Bread loafs. I don't think you could wrong with any of them, mi lady."
9. "Why thank you, madam Marchand." Yaein bows and blushes as bright as a Limsa Lominsa peach at the sudden praise that the elezen of House Marchand heaped upon her. From behind the elezen she hears the miqo'te trailing behind while echoing Adriel's sentiments. "Oh! ...Really? I hope not too far!"
10. I really love what you do with your screenshots. =)
11. Interesting? I find it awesome that several leaders/authority figures in Eorzea are female!
12. I did this as well. I wanted to save the storyline for Phase 4/Release. =) I look forward to reading all that I missed. :cactuar: I guess my first goal would be to get my core level job to level 20. Get all the goodies such as... - Airship Pass - Retainer - Chocobo and then dive right into crafting.
13. After arranging the emerald tinted goodie bags, the baked goods, fresh fruits, and assortment of nuts, Yaein sat on her wooden stool next to her booth with a bored expression on her face. It was the first Market Day in Gridania in gods know how long. But by the twelve, those rainy days were always her favorite, and she had missed them already. The sound of rain droplets hitting the canopy of trees from above gave her tranquil comfort that reminded her of home back in Coerthas. She sat there, daydreaming with her elbows in her lap and her chin in her hands.
14. I always find it funny when people say this. "I don't think characters should have musical themes, but here is mines!!!"
15. I'll be participating in the Culinarian skills contest as well =)
16. Yaein Mayweather was busy reorganizing her booth to notice any of the localized commotion going on around her. "Cookies on top. Wait, no. The frosted and unfrosted apple tarts on top, cookies in the middle. Hmmm that's not right either. Maybe the pies on top, cookies on the bottom and apple tarts in the middle." She took a step back to view her wares, ultimately undecided on what look was best. The smell was sure to draw people in, but a job halfway done isn't really done at all. This was one of those problems that one didn't mind having, but aesthetics were everything. All the merchants knew that they could make or break your sales if you weren't careful, and say one thing about Yaein Mayweather, say that she was definitely careful about these things.
17. I fear that we might get to the point where battle lines will be drawn in the sand and flame wars will commence. Soon people will disregard the whole notion of picking both servers to see which one they're more comfortable with. Truth be told, we're slowly heading towards the movement of propaganda pamphlets littering the RPC's cobblestone streets with embolden messages that jump off the page saying, "Uncle Balmung or Aunt Gilgamesh wants you!" The wary travelers sail in upon our majestic shoreline, confused, but with every right to be about what all the commotion is about. Secondary? Primary? With two pints in hand, a random inhabitant trots along the pier and slings one ale sodden arm over the shoulder of the starry-eyed adventure. "Come my friend! Welcome to Hydaelyn Roleplayers Coalition. Allow me to explain to you the current political situation of our humble abode and why Balmung(or Gilgamesh) is right for you." In the meantime, before it's come to that, we have topics like this with the words that start off with, "Hello I'm not trying to stoke any flames..." but in the same action hand you flint and tender while pointing you in the direction of the firewood.
18. I'll be creating the shells beta 4. I'd be willing to hand some out as well.
19. As someone who is going to be on Gilgamesh, I can honestly tell you that you're in a win - win situation. Balmung will have RPers, and Gilgamesh will have RPers, everything else really just boils down to personal preference. Both communities are great places. No matter which server you choose, I'm sure you won't regret it.
20. Judging from the number of people that are joining the site and going to Gilgamesh, I would say so. We won't have the vast numbers of Balmung, but you won't have a problem finding an RP community on Gilgamesh.
21. I bought a copy of CE: FFXIV back when it was first released and got to level 15 in a few jobs before I stopped playing. I'm guessing I don't qualify for early access?
22. Might be a good idea to collaborate with Hiname Dawnpride (Akki-Chan here on the forums), shes the leader of The Silver Anvil, Gilgamesh's Crafting RP linkshell. If the planets align and I can get out the gate with a good start, I can help provide food that is beneficial for those between the of level 1 through 20. :tonberry:
23. Welcome aboard! I look forward to seeing you around Gilgamesh!
