Hey hey! o/ Can't say welcome to the server or the game, so, welcome to the forums haha I'm not a pro when it comes to this place too since I'm a newbie as well but just dropping by to say hi Besides, us newbies gotta stick together, yeah? (We'd love to know more about your character I know I'm curious :3 )

I. Basic Info Characters: Ayaka Yatsurugi Primary character: Ayaka Yatsurugi, a Doman Raen Adventurer with a secret Linkshells: N/A (Looking for some) Primary RP linkshell: N/A (Looking for some) II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): I would prefer either light or medium. Heavy is something I am not confident with. Views on RP combat and injuries: I am not confident with combat RPs as well. HOWEVER, I am willing to give it a try and I usually discuss things with the other party regarding what/how the fight would be. Rather, what would be the start and the ending of it so that we would at least have a guide on what should/would happen. I am also willing to listen to said RP partner if they have ideas on how to proceed/deal with the battle RP like the whole /random thing As for injuries, well, I like being realistic with them haha. But with the whole healing thing going on in FF14, I can add a few exceptions to some things. Views on IC romance: I ENJOY A WELL DEVELOPED ROMANCE. I'm also a sucker for angst so whoever is actually interested in forming one with Ayaka, prepare your heart haha! It doesn't even have to be romance, even crushes are a-okay here since I'm sure Ayaka will have crushes too! Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): This one is also very important for me. Like, having a romantic interest is good and all but having people of different views and interests around your character is another thing. This will also give me the chance to get to know my character more. I would like for Ayaka to have good friends--Hell, I don't even mind if she acquires a rival or enemy. It would fit her background quite well in my own opinion. So if you are interested in creating an old (or even new) relationship with her, whether it's a childhood bestfriend or an old rival, feel free to hit me up! Views on lore: I love the lore in FF14 and will try to follow it as much as I can. HOWEVER, I want to state here that I am no expert when it comes to it. Basics perhaps but more than that, I need to research them or need others to tell me about it especially if I've gotten something wrong. So if you see me post something that is incorrect, please don't hesitate to correct me. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I am terribly shy. I tend to shy away from RPing via /say, /em, FC chat or linkshells seeing as I get a little bit conscious knowing that everyone around my character can read what I am typing. I suppose that is weird considering I do not mind forum RPing, but for me, there's a difference between forum RP and walk up RP in-game. ( But I suppose, if I'm comfortable with the other person, I wouldn't mind giving it a try ; u ; ) With that said, I prefer RPs over party chat and /tell or anywhere private for that matter. The skies were clear and not a cloud was in sight. So of course the Lominsan residents and adventurers alike took full advantage of this perfect day. Traders called out for potential buyers of their wares while customers haggled like there was no tomorrow. Adventurers could be heard laughing and calling out their mates as they set out for their quests and leves. Dozens and dozens of people from different city-states flocked the entirety of Limsa Lominsa and some were still arriving as a ship docked and lowered its gangplank to unload its passengers. A sight to behold indeed, especially to those that aren't used to the life by the sea. A certain Au Ra was awed a few days ago, however, right then, there was nothing on her mind but the Blacksmith guild as she made a beeline towards their building. She has been visiting the place for days now, returning with more specific alternations with her order. It was perhaps a few suns after, that she thought that the Blacksmith guild finally gave up on her. Fortunately for the Raen, they only informed her of a smith that would be arriving sometime soon to handle her order perfectly. Ayaka couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief at that news. The woman didn't know where else to go. She was told that the Naldiq and Vymelli's were the best of the best in the continent. And while she was certain that there were private ones that were equally skilled, she'd rather pick a public service and lay low. Hiding in plain sight was something she was good at. It was an added relief when she was told that this specific smith would be able to take care of her blades without any problems--The two blades that were the cause of grumbles and nightmares of the Blacksmith guild for days. And from what she has observed, the other workers found themselves relaxing after hearing the name of the smith that was going to be sent. If she remembered correctly... The smith was called Chachanji Gegenji. But from what she has learned while living in Eorza, such names were given to... Said name was called out by the Guildmaster as the Raen turned towards the direction where the Eorzan was waving his hand at. First thought: Small. But after taking a quick brief look at the entirety of the smith--of the Lalafellan smith--Ayaka of the Yatsurugi family had to retract her first impression. Underneath that rather adorable and unimposing round face was a body that could most likely lift a Hyur or mayhap a Roegadyn if he so wishes to--Maybe even break it. Not to mention the smith sported bright competent eyes that seemed to know exactly why they were summoned. She shouldn't have let her first impression sway her even if it was but a brief second. That was very unlike of her. So while Guildmaster Brithael spoke to the lalafell, bright green eyes curiously observed the two smiths, outer rings glowing steadily. And when green met with violet, a small smile broke across the Au Ra's dainty face. "Good day, Mr. Gegenji. I was told that you will be taking over my order?" asked Ayaka, raising her voice so that it could be heard over the sounds of metal clashing against one another, though it was still too soft to be considered raised. And yes, this Au Ra with the innocent face, clipping her hair behind her horn with a petite body was the same client that was making everyone in the guild pull out their hair; the same person that made the guildmaster call out one of their best just to assist her. "Ah, my apologies, I am Ayaka of the Yatsurugi family. Please take good care of me." added the dark haired Raen, her accent barely showing as she held her journal before her with both hands and gave the two a traditional Doman bow.

Augh, I could have been able to RP with them but as soon as I got the courage to send a tell, they were gone! That could have been my first RP in-game with a Roe haha! Heyy! A fellow newbie to the server like me! Welcome welcome! I'm on the same boat with you regarding the FF14 lore haha. I'm afraid to dive fully into it as well, not wanting to disappoint or embarrass myself in front of others. Hope to see/learn more of your character!

I'm totally up for planning something - whether it's meeting up in game or getting your feet wet through an RP thread in the Town Square section. That's where all the RP-by-post stuff happens, after all! And having Chachan meet her in Limsa or around there is easy enough - he's a smith! The Guilds are over in Limsa and he pops by there all the time to help out. :thumbsup: Oh I'd like that! Maybe just the forums for now? It's a bit hard to meet in-game with all the maintenance and my timezone and me having to go to my main during early evenings for most people I'd be happy to plan/plot in a PM though! C: !!

Oooo that would work haha! I only have her at level 15-16 at the moment and she's currently in Limsa so yeah ; u ; If you don't mind o/ It'd be nice to set up something whether it's in in-game or forum haha. Though forum's much easier for me though cos of my timezone... +8 UTC > x > Oh yeah. Definitely this. Though I'd understand more if they were AFK but if they weren't and they just don't wish to RP with me, then that's a worse blow for me haha

And oh, that would be nice...! Though a bit hard to do considering I'm still ever so slowly leveling Ayaka up! ' ^ ')9 Thank you for the welcome! CX I shall try to do that as well--! Ehehey, a newbie in the server like me (Though not really character newbie since you transferred unlike me but yeah! Newcomers unite? ) I agree with what Virella said though with the whole, touched being a sensitive topic but yeah! I'm not an expert with RPing or in the server but I don't mind meeting a new friend, IC-wise and OOC-wise and discussing RP things! C: It helps that you're somewhat near my timezone too... Kinda...

Oh, I definitely know about that. And plenty of others on Balmung do too, I'm fairly certain. The Quicksand is usually full of people wall-flowering, quietly waiting for someone to come over and start RP with them. Or looking for ERP. One of the two. Or both. And I was really helped out by a few key folks coming up and RPing with me when I first came to Balmung - FFXIV has been my first foray into RP via MMO - so I like to try and pay it forward when I can and RP with other new folks. So if getting started is an issue, Chachan can help with that! Plus, he's from Doma too. Haha I'm gonna be one of those people that'll sit in Quicksand and just look about. To be honest, I just want to observe first before finally taking a deep breath and jumping in--But that'll probably be forever since... IDK, too shy haha and too self-conscious about the way I RP and if people will find them amusing or not That and yes, like you, it's my first time with mmo RPing somewhat. Somewhat not new in the forums though haha since I've already created an account before but I decided to start anew for the fresh character I've made in Balmung! And since I'm somewhat done with the recent contents with my main, it's time for me to derp around in Balmung for a bit and actually observe and see how RPers RP in it! (I have at least 3-4 years of experience with RPing, though sporadic because of RL but my passion for it is still as strong as ever!) With that said, I'm just gonna post a tiny bit about my character Name: Ayaka Yatsurugi Race: Au Ra Raen [image] Really Short Bio: A Raen Adventurer with wanderlust. Unafraid to discover new things whether they are something enchanting or something as simple as taking a bite out of a new food. You'll know it's Ayaka because of how she keeps a small journal with her always, the Au Ra jotting down almost every single thing that's happening in her travels. (I actually have set up a twitter for it haha though I'm probably gonna make a tumblr to actually let her record things better.)
