  1. Yeoowsch! I'll do my best to be there and do what I can to help with the crafting. I'll be on Gilgamesh before phase 3 is over for RP shenanigans. I'll PM ya here if I'm having trouble contacting ya in game and what nots.
  2. I. Basic Info Characters: Kran Beyhrus Primary character: Kran Beyhrus Primary RP linkshell: Silver Anvil Linkshells: Silver Anvil II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium-Heavy, I just don't have much endurance for long term heavy RP, I'll start to slip up after 2 hours or so. More akin to texting unique emotes and such but am eager to play around with the premade emotes. Views on RP combat and injuries: I can roll with the punches. Views on IC romance: No erotica RP. I personally shy away from IC romance. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): That's a PM issue if you want to set up familial ties to my character. I'm an understanding and open minded individual. (I think) Views on lore: Still learning Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Treat all of them as IC save the ones flagged as OOC III. Other Info Country: USA Timezone: UTC -07:00 (Arizona) Contact info: PM on HRC (This forum) Edit* Will happily take a pearl from the "Coalition OOC and Limitless Sky" Linkshells. 3. Its a little dark, Sorries. Combat happens up top, emote and texting happen at the bottom w/non essentials. The right is the map and objectives and the left is reserved for the party window. Managed to get this on screen not using the full width of the monitor. Looking down from 3/4 view the bottom wall of junk stays at the characters feet.
  4. Should be in My Documents/My Games/Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn (Beta Version)/Screenshots/ Meh... no such file as Screenshots there.... *grumble* wonder if I needed to have done fn+the prt sc/sysRq button....? Blech. I usually remap it to a key set I can remember for just this reason.... If your still having trouble and use windows you can try this. http://www.ehow.com/how_8740613_capture-screenshot-game.html
  5. You and me both. I have some experience RPing in a MUD but It'd be nice to have a small refresher course for this genre.

  7. Read your post about roleplaying. My experience in RP draws heavily from MUD's or a text only based RP game. If you can keep up with the pace and still describe your character's actions in third person than do it. The only caveat is trimming away the fat in the text you'll be writing. *I'll still be using some of those in game emotes though ^ ^* I've seen players able to dance circles around me in self described emotes all the while keeping their RP mask from cracking. Naturally I was drawn to such players and tried my best to emulate them and while it was a rewarding experience, it was also an exhausting, tedious and time consuming one. Very few RPers had the patience for that kind of thing and I felt it was their loss. Just sticking to dialogue works, but describing body language, vocal tone, and subtle actions adds a whole new layer of expression to your character that I appreciate in RP. Essentially, your communicating what your character is feeling in a roundabout way that allows for more open ended RP. *If done well* From your post you seem to be mindful of your audience and the pace of the RP so I think you'll be fine.

    Ahoy there!

I see the words steampunk and technomages (^.^) Nice Anywho, let me be the first to welcome you to the forums. *Grinning, grasping a microphone, leans sideways toward Tsori and in a broad motion arcs his free hand up and around* "Welcome to the Forums!" *A single underinflated balloon cascades to the floor* ...>.>
  9. Time permitting, I'll be there :ahriman:

    Heyo

I wouldn't exactly say my ideas are all that great but If you want inspiration for character concepts you should look at the dialogue in "Fire Emblem Awakening". Its not like their characters are all that deep or interesting but, its how they interact with other characters that made them special. For me that was the games focus, forget the story I want to know what Vaike has to say to Chrom. Anime is of course, the other great resource for character concepts. I'm hesitant to open that door here in this thread soooo yeah -.- Any way, the one soft spot I've always had were characters that are just normal people who get caught up in events and take up arms or reluctantly walk the path of an adventurer. They provide the baseline for normalcy and allow the larger than life characters to really shine, even if those normal characters don't really seem all that interesting. Sort of like backstage actors. And as for Chocolate *Quetzac forces a smile* I love chocolate *Stashes said gold foil in an obscure pouch lining his coat* Thank you *Continues to smile pleasantly* PS: I used to RP an undesirable fellow and it might be my fallback character. Want to branch out ant try something that won't have me racking my brain with ways to insult other characters. All in good fun of course ^ ^
  11. Part of me really wants to with my Roegadyn but it would make more sense with the character to have her focus be magic.
  12. Love the expression and the body language in your stuff. Keep up the good work.

    Heyo

I'll keep my hood up over my head and lurk around the shadows for a while. Saw a thread on the FFXIV beta forums and stopped on by. I'm running around Leviathan playing the game just for fun but figure I'd aim for something more during official release. RP exp: I have some but I wouldn't say I'm all that great. I've played in a MUD called New Worlds Ateraan for about 3 months or so. It was fun but I feel the community was never all on the same page save for the "south", but I'm only assuming that one. I'm also an avid gamer but a novice when it comes to MMO's. RP Style: Medium. I'm willing to put forth the effort for good RP but... There are times when I'll want to just relax and enjoy the game. Character: A stoic, aloof female Roedygyn named "Aether Vestige". Personality archetype is like an AI that just became self aware, but they'll be more human and less "knowy" about the world. About me: A schmuck. I'm hoping to take a fashion Illustration class in community college so I can clothe the figures I draw. Right now, my drapery skills aren't on par with my figure drawing >.> I also 'feel' old in the gaming community, not Atari old but Super NES old, ugh! If I could be any animal I'd be a dragon. Why? Because I could sleep all day, live in a cave far away from the rest of the world and scare off all the people who annoy me. That (Pauses, Innocently rolls eyes) and the sacrificial maidens >,^
