Hello and greetings! I am a new player to Final Fantasy XIV and I wanted to try the game as I have tried a lot of MMORPGs throughout my life (Aion, Tibia, Flyff, Perfect World, Lineage 2, GW2 etc) and it's been a long time ago that I have found a good game. Recently I don't know why I started getting a lot of notifications and news about FF returning from a game that was doomed and don't know what and recently with their updates and stuff. And then I also have been interested in role playing because of D&D and the show Critical Role that made be interested in role playing and last year and up to the beginning of this year I found a group of D&D here in my town so we started playing (i was also DMing while being my first time lol). But because of everything that is happening in the world we stopped playing together (also I think they lost interest in it unfortunately). Then, I recently thought of trying to role play in MMOs which after watching that there is a way to RP in GTA I thought what if there was a way to RP in MMOs. And after researching from all the MMOs that might have RP available the only one that I thought that would be good and also that I haven't tried the game. So I decided to try it and right now I'm playing with a Trial account until level 60 (at writing this I'm Level 22) and I'm looking for an RP guild(?) I dont know if guilds are in this game or they're called FC? But I would like someone to introduce me in RP inside the game, and also to learn more about it because I have been trying to find a game that I can play for a while besides single player games and I liked to role play but unfortunately I haven't found any game or place to do it. My character name is Rael Nailo and I have a bit of a story that I want to do but I don't have a lot of background story or anything. The only thing that I have is that my character is looking for knowledge of the world and be a sort of historian (so I wanted to be Scholar) but everything can change in his travels (kind of me trying different classes and see which one I like the most). The race is Elezen from the clan Wildwood and follows the deity/guardian Thaliak that is the Scholar. I hope I can find somewhere that I can role play and join a good community. Thank you

Hello all, I am fairly new to FFXIV, and wanting to get into a RP server and group. With that being said, here are some things about me. MMORPG background: I started MMOs, back when I was 12, with Star Wars The Old Republic (SWTOR) and loved all the dialogue options, cut scenes, ect. Got a bounty hunter up to mid 30s or so before life happened and 14 year old me couldn't play much. I played a bit of Terra as well, got to maybe 25 or so before Decided not keep with it. About a year or 2 ago, a couple of friends tried to get me into wow and I leveled a few characters up but never fully got into it. But for the most part, I've played most of my MMO's as a solo player, hardly doing dungeons in SWTOR or Terra because I was young and didn't know much about the games. and now that I'm older, (going on 21 by the end of the month.) I know how to look up guides and what have you to get a better idea of the game (which I have.) RP experience: Been playing TTRPGs since 2013, mostly pathfinder with some 3.5; and, within the past few years, 5E. I also spent roughly a year playing Vampire: the Masquerade and Werewolf. As far as RPG video game experience, it by far is my favorite genre, along side Tactical Turn Based Strategy (games like fire emblem for those unfamiliar.) Character ideas/info: So, rn, I have two ideas for a character. First, (most likely) is Immanis Bellator, a Roegadyn (Sea Wolves) that focuses on martial prowess, smiting, and making an honest income with the metal wares he crafts, yet not afraid to get his hands in the thick of it if needed. Be it making axes or swing them. He does what he must to help his business, his friends, and the world that they live in. The second Idea is Grey Ezra, an Elezen. (Wild Wood) that is more magically inclined, focusing on the magic and mysteries the world has to offer, an intellectual fellow that does what it takes to crack the case and has a confidence in those fields. This, dabbed with curiosity, found him partaking in a variety of magic jobs, along with some gaudy ones, like goldsmith and weaver. How did you learn about the coalition? I convinced my friend to give FFXIV a try, and he leaned towards going for a more RP route, he showed me this site and him and I are both submitting a introduction today. What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? I plan on being a light or medium RPer. I'm more so saying that still being new to MMORP, so we'll see where things take me. RL things to know: I am busy the first weekend of each month with military obligations. And I do plan on going to college this fall, but again, we'll see where things take me. the quick stats: fia (pronounced fee-ah) he/him, they/them 14 years of roleplay experience i have 3 main ffxix ocs helloooo!! my name is fia, and it's a pleasure to meet you all. first off, i learned about the coalition through google. i've been mostly playing by myself on ffxiv since i got it about a month ago (save a few friends humouring me in dungeon runs here and there). i was introduced and brought into ffxiv by a friend with roleplaying purposes, but we've since stopped speaking to each other for the most part. and since my interest in this game lies primarily with rp, i decided to seek out any potential rping-focused free companies. so off to google i went, and the coalition was one of the first things in the results. so here i am! i have no real mmorpg background, at least not in games similar to ffxiv, so it's technically my "first". at least, not recently (because i played runescape aaageees ago but haven't touched it in over 10 years). however, i DID spend quite some time in a game called mount & blade: warband where extensions were added that allowed me to play on fan-made servers, and i participated in several roleplay-only servers on that game (which isn't inherently an mmorpg game, or even mmo to my knowledge). as i've stated, i've got well about 14 years of general roleplay experience, and that includes (but is not limited) to platforms such as: website forums, myspace, oneworldroleplay, livejournal, tumblr, gaiaonline, etc. i've also done roleplay in runescape as well as the aforementioned m&b:warband. chat platforms i've rp'ed on would include: aim, msn messenger, skype, discord. i've dabbled in maaaany fandoms over the years, playing both canon characters and ocs but have been focused on establishing my own ocs and fleshing them out more (plus fandoms have just become scary and drama-filled especially in regards to their treatment of ocs). for ffxiv, i brought in 3 of my main ocs that i've had for a while, and have adapted them to this world. my previously mentioned friend and i built a sort of storyline around our collective characters, and now that we've branched away from each other, i'm looking to fill in some spots we never covered. or really, to just maybe find something new for the lives of my characters. what i'm really looking (outside of the usual rp partners) for are meeting others who might be interested in creating new characters to add to a clan i made that 2 of my ffxiv characters are from. the tldr version of the idea is: ahhh so yeah. umm, as for what kind of roleplayer i'm aiming to be? probably all three levels. i adapt mostly to my partners, but i tend to write a LOT, so normally i slide into lit rps, and have done plenty of novella as well. i'm really bad at one-liners though haha. i suppose i should end it here before i end up writing so much that no one wants to read any of this. (i've already written a lot. i overwrite...) ANYWAY -- i hope to make many friends here and meet many people!! OH, also i'm from NA, but i play on the EU datacenter, on Odin. and i haven't seen any FC's or linkshells for this server, or many in general for EU.
