New Forum Design Sneak Peak

Please note: This is a rough design. It is NOT complete. Many elements are still being tweaked, including images, image lightness transitions, text colors, and the entire sidebar. Icon background colors are still be altered and the title in the banner is simply a placeholder. A much more elegant title is being prepared.

 

The banner image will rotate between an estimated 15 or so images. The background will also have an image on each side within each side arch. The buttons may also be tweaked in order to give a better illusion of alignment along the scroll top. Numerous other tweaks are still in the works. But I wanted to show progress this far and gather feedback. So please let me know what you think so far ^^. I apologize for the poor image quality.

I'll admit the old Ishgard and adventurer party has grown on my over the year but I think the new layout is looking pretty good.

Actually, you know what might give the background some flavor?

 

If you're able to make it look convincing, some flyers on the stone walls with unintelligible Eorzean or brief statements / ads might spruce up the background a bit from the bleak grey stone. Maybe some wanted posters or something, I don't know.

My plan is to have an image on each side of the background--a paladin on one side and probably a black mage on the other. This will cover up most of the bleak grey area. Problem is, there's not much job art/pictures out there to do this yet ><

 

I do like the idea of putting Eorzean fliers up around it as well though. I can try to do both, though I need to locate good images of said fliers.
