Michikyou Posted July 7, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 7, 2015 [align=center] The Amphitheater presents is an establishing small company of performers which aims to do - once a fortnight or once a month (depending on availability) parts of well known plays for the larger community of Eorzea. :chocobo::chocobo::chocobo: Why? well that's a little confusing to even me. I guess in the large scheme of things I always want to test the waters and do something different. yes, this event requires a lot of hard work an organisation however what is roleplay without some form of effort? I want to make others smile and if this helps well, at least i've done something ^^. No point giving up before I try. How? Well, I'll be pre-writing most of the script. There will be a little bit of pre-writing needed by the actors to describe their actions with their lines. All commentary about the play will be done in private channels or in brief sentences. The play will be both in /em and /y and paced so people can accordingly follow it if we are to preform in a private location (ie. a House) we will just use /Yell and /s and /em will be available for spectators. So, all good play productions and theaters need a staff and actors. Thats where you lot come in. I am going to make a small linkshell or at least a tab on my friends lists for those who would be interested in acting and performing for other Eorzeans. Any race and gender is acceptable. While there are gender specific roles some are more fluid. The first play we will be doing (in parts..) is Act I, Scene I-II of Measure for Measure; adapted for the game. Characters in these scenes are.. [align=left]The Duke - The other central figure is the Duke, who spends most of his time dressed as a friar in order to observe what is happening in his absence. The Duke is unfailingly virtuous, good, and kind-hearted. Escalus - Escalus is a wise lord who advises Angelo to be more merciful. He is loyal to the Duke and seeks to carry out his orders justly, but cannot go against Angelo's will. Angelo - Angelo is the villain of the play, a man who rules strictly and without mercy. He has his own weaknesses, however, and he is loathsome more for his hypocrisy than for anything else. Lucio - Lucio, described by Shakespeare as a "fantastic," is a flamboyant bachelor who provides much of the play's comedic content 2 Random Persons - For other dialogue. Mistress Overdone - Mistress Overdone runs a brothel in Limsa. Pompey - Pompey is a clown who also works for Mistress Overdone.
