Oh man I saw your thread for Gegenji, and he sounds awesome! Y'uraq would definitely want to be in touch with a smitty. He's planning to participate in the grindstone again, so it'd be great to have someone repair his damaged armor sometime during the week. Not to mention his taste for ornate and elegant armor would demand a skilled crafter to fashion him some plates and chain mail something on a regular basis. Would be interesting to see if Y'uraq could gain Gegenji's confidence to craft weapons for him as well. As a goldsmith himself, Y'uraq would appreciate the opportunity to befriend another craftsman.

I’ve been in a bit of an RP hiatus lately due to scheduling issues with my RP partners, often pulled away by their FCs, other RP partners and other OOC reasons to be able to join me for Regular RP, story and development between Y’uraq and their characters. I’ve started a long-term new story and goal in mind for Stormblood that I would like to have bridged and developed through story arcs where ever his adventures will take him and his new contacts over the forseeable future. It ended up taking all of Heavensward to complete but it was very compelling story telling to see him presented with the challenges and the effects of his actions would affect the people around him that got Y’uraq in all kinds of situations in response to his actions. I love the opportunity to meet and interact with other like-minded RPers interested in being part of his stormblood adventures. That means I enjoy unscripted character interaction and developments. Or an arcanist that could teach him to read ley charts and be able to cast a proper physick to heal his friends or himself in an emergency and summon a carbuncle to assist in combat.I could just write a story and make more NPC characters, but it's a lot more fun to interact with others, it makes for a better experience than just writing a story about it. [align=left] Not to say I still do that from time to time, but it is something would like to keep minimal, at least for myself. RP partners may include whatever NPCs they wish. Here are some ideas for hooks for potential stories and character developments that I’m looking for: Mentors: After developing a profound story and relationship between Y’uraq and his DRK mentor whom I had the pleasure of finding through the RPC as well. I would welcome another opportunity for more mentors to help and guide Y’uraq through his training to learn and understand more about himself and his abilities as a paladin, bard, or arcanist. I’m looking long-term RP partners that are versed in their class lore / skills / philosophies / etc. As well as interested in the possibility taking Y’uraq under their guidance. Everything else goes for whatever you, the mentor wish to add to Y’uraq’s training/ lessons/ tests. Y’uraq has an affinity for evoking aether and spellcasting. As such, he’s proven himself an adept thaumaturge on his way to mastery, and a dark knight rejoined. Y’uraq seeks for the opportunity to learn other martial and schools of magic in his future.

And if you're taking suggestions for the next location, it might be a good idea to make it in la Noscea for the sake of access for people with characters under lv 60.

I. Basic Info Characters: Y'uraq Tia Primary character: Y'uraq Tia Linkshells: N/A Primary RP linkshell: N/A II. RP Style 1. Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Light======Medium====V=Heavy I consider myself to be a heavy roleplayer. I'm a sucker for immersion, character development and story continuity I also consider as a dynamic roleplayer, this means that I keep my IC and OOC knowledge between myself and Y'uraq well apart, this keeps the fourth wall nice and sturdy. This also means that I do not, and will not do or accept any 'fast forwarding of major character developments' between Y'uraq and your characters or permit 'metagaming' of any sort. With that said, I stick to continuity as true as possible to all developments i've made since November 2014 I am an M/RPer, meaning I am fine with the possibility of being part of a story arc that includes violence, sexuality, drug / alcohol use, dramatic, obscene aspects, scenes and plot points. In addition, I am fine with Y'uraq facing his own moments of weakness, and defeat. However, keep in mind I do not want to have this happening every day/week/month. I expect these to be nothing more than certain scenes and important plot points and helping someone progress their story development and/or my own. I RP in the third person, i try to be as descriptive in my emotes as possible (4-7 lines, or even 2 or 3+ posts depending on what's going on before i'll be done with my turn. Due to the length of some scenes taking potentially longer than a couple of hours or even depending on the span of time. This is where OOC discussions to establish a time lapse after a scene without disrupting each other's stories is the only exception to my 'fast forwarding' rule above. 'Retconning' is only limited to retyping a post before giving other people in the scene a chance to respond. Otherwise, I will not negotiate it. Part of character development is things may not always work out perfectly, but it's up to your character to overcome the obstacles presented by their actions. Own up to the consequences! In addition, if an aspect of RP makes you uncomfortable in a scene we're playing, please send me a /tell, letting me know. Communication is very important, more important than potentially keeping immersion. I reserve the right not to engage or RP with someone I wish to avoid. This goes back to the whole "dynamic" RP thing, forced and unwanted interactions are never a good thing. Unless it's been prearranged and planned to use a specific dungeon location for RP (ie: haukke manor, tam-tara, etc.) I am never IC during a PvE duty / raid 2. Views on RP combat and injuries: Even though Y'uraq is no stranger to combat and danger, he will do seek avoid combat and prevent danger outside of a regulated duel or spar. He will however draw his available weapon in defense of himself and those around him should he need to. My preferred style of combat are standard tabletop style (emote your attack, /roll to determine a hit or miss) RNGesus is fun, But I can also do combat based entirely on emotes and writing and see how things would develop through our characters own abilities and circumstances. As far as injuries go, I'm personally okay with Y'uraq getting injured after facing intense combat. This is a world where there are conjurers at our disposal with the power to either instantly heal, or assist in an accelerated healing process. the most I'd incapacitate Y'uraq is a couple of days to weeks depending circumstances wrought. I frown at meta/auta RP combat. 3. Views on IC romance: Y'uraq would welcome the possibility of romance in his life, though he's not actively seeking a romantic relationship. IC romances can be very interesting prospect for some strong character development, also it's just sweet in general and I welcome it. But I would rather it be something a little more "organic" and not something forced or pre-scripted. Like letting said relationship evolve naturally if it's something meant to be. 4. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Y'uraq was once on the lookout for finding his lost family and fellow tribe members, but has since learned all of his direct tribe members were killed or missing since the calamity. These surviving tribe members are all designated NPCs i've developed for his personal story. With that said he is only a Y by blood on his sire's side. His tribe branched off from the Y's before resettling anew. but because they're all dead. He identifies as "Y'uraq" as bid to hang on to his ancestral identity But I'm always up for making new contacts and develop unique and interesting relationship between our characters. Since i've started RP'ing 3 years ago, Y'uraq has had: students, mentors, rivals, friends, and enemies. 5. Views on lore: The lore behind FFXIV is amazing and i love it! with that said, I am okay with light lore-bending. If the lore does not explicitly state something cannot be done and you have a valid reason for doing it then I have no problem. I have some of my own head cannon that fills in areas where the lore team was not as detailed as I and others would like, the gray areas that are perfect for bending without breaking. However, complete disregard for lore limits and continuity is not okay. 6. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): /s is strictly IC unless OOC brackets /p is mostly OoC unless specifically designated for RP (private RP'ing in busy and crowded areas) /fc is OOC for FC members /linkshell is IC unless stated otherwise /sh, /y, and /w are all IC unless brackets are added. Oh wow, I did not expect this to get to much attention, my friends and i were able to work out the rest of his story arc as a nunh to end in the best of terms (didn't really want this IC'ly or OOC'ly, but I had Y'uraq is happy to be a Tia again, leaving him pleeeeenty of time to focus on other IC related obstacles to overcome Also might be a good dea to keep this thread discussion up in an archive for any other person is curious on making their characters a nunh, along with things to consider if they do want to go that way. In hindsight i regret no being a mooncat instead... they're sexy AF... but i appreciate all the feedback. Rock on you wonderful people.

Hello and salutations. I won't bore you guys with details, but I've recently been in a story arc that has had Y'uraq confront and defeat a nunh, unwittingly gaining his title and thus turning his life into a completely different direction. (for better AND worse) since that's dynamic RP for ya. I learned and became aware IC and OOC'ly nunh's aren't allowed to leave their tribes once the title was gained and I've followed rp conventions and had myself stuck ic'ly in one place for alost a month, but my friends and i were able to RP a scene where Y'uraq made a deal that he could leave on condition he could provide the tribe with an aetheryte which his friends then DMED an event where had gone through the trouble of stealing from the Amal'jaa in the midst of an attempt to summon ifrit, which never came to pass. So my question is: Now that Y'uraq is free to roam and travel again. He would know better than to even mention his title to anyone and simply introduce himself as "Y'uraq" How are nunhs percieved by the general RP community? is it RP suicide? Does it matter that all of the females he'll be siring with are all NPCs or would people be turned off by the possibility of RP'ing any romantic prospect with a nunh because of the rep most of them seem to get?

Synopsis: After several moons of trying (and failing) to uphold his missing master's words of wisdom. Y'uraq's has inadvertedly succeeded in re-awakening and empowering the shadow that threatens to consume him and what remains of his sanity. Unable to stray from his duties from the Vylbrand Academy any further. Y'uraq Occassionally wanders around Limsa Lominsa's ports, in hopes he may spot a promising mentor among the crowds. The hour of his joining draws closer, and his time is running out OOC: Hello and salutations! I've been working on a very long personal character progression for my character, revolving around his mystery and his vicious demeanors when provoked. (Later discovered to be his darkside) I'm currently setting up for a new dynamic story arc revolving around Y'uraq final, and desperate bid to regain control over him darkside. This could potentally mean he -could- fail, or succeed depending on the factors and events that'll determine his victory and redemption, or his downfall into a twisted, and potentially villainous character. That could well be up to the kind of mentor he ends up getting, so whether you're a true walker of the path, or another fallen knight looking to corrupt and spread the chaos is also up to you. (i'd rather not know OOC'ly ) On a side note: I -did- have a DRK mentor before who taught Y'uraq the phylosophical and meditative aspects of evoking and controlling his darkside, however Y'uraq boldly defied his master's stress against emotional attachments which have contributed to further losing control over his raging shadow. And After finally giving Y'uraq enough of a backstory and development I'm finally ready to join the rest of Balmung community and partake in what's made our community so awesome. But if you don't have time (or simply don't want OOC spoilers, i know i don't!), He has a dorky, timid, calm, and soft spoken demeanor, but has been noted on his feral and vicious tendencies in arenas by judges, spectators, and fellow duelists across Eorzea. In terms of tropes, Y'uraq is a "Yangire" His wild and fiercely devoted tendencies can make him either an anti-hero, or a villain depending on whose point of view. dislikes Aether travel, rides his chocobo places instead. Synopsis: Since recently mastering his dark affliction. Y'uraq has carried on to enjoy his second chance at a full life, and return to pursue knowledge and research. A rival (friendly or hostile) - Based on all the info i'm giving here there's GOT to be someone who would be at odds with him. A mentor to a A GLA/PLD/MRD/WAR/DRK student - Y'uraq is proud of his achievements as a man-at-arms Romance - Y'uraq is pan-romantic, and because it's not Final Fantasy without a bit of romance on the side. And like i said before, he's not meant to be with -just- anyone. If your character has an interest in him, then work for it! Forced relationships fall apart faster than Minfillia's character development (and just as boring too). How that romance starts or develops is to the imagination and I'm also not restricting races for this. If Y'uraq ends up liking your character enough is because of who they are. Y'uraq is not traditional in his people's customs. (No interest in Nunhship) A Protector - Though normally shy and reserved, Y'uraq has no problems upholding his creed as a dark knight, and rush to defend the downtrodden without hesitation. Void hunters - Y'uraq's affinity with the void is bound to attract some unwanted attention The Lambs of Dalamud - Does anyone RP as one of these guys? Either way would make for some great conflict.
