Episode 1.1: Energy Crisis

 

Note: This is the beginning of a storyline using the Fate-14 roll system. The IC thread can be found here. Characters should have a Fate-14 sheet in order to participte. Players who are unfamiliar with the system are welcome, and should speak to one of the Roll Eorzea LS moderators about how to get involved.

 

Situation: Strange occurrences have been going on in the Ceruleum mines of  Northern Thanalan. The Amajina & Sons Mineral Concern has missed several important shipments to the Alliance, citing sabotage, and a loss of personnel. Finding the Stone Torches overworked by recent issues in the Copperbell Mines, the Concern has issued a Leve to capable members of all four city states. Travel to Northern Thanalan, discover the cause of the delays, and allow the mines to resume production.

To all those coming, Meetup is at 7PST tonight at the ceruleum processing plant in Northern Thanalan.

 

If your character is a possible replacement, the Leve is public, so there are lots of reasons why they might take it.

The next week or so will be laying groundwork for future events, if you'd like to be involved in the plot, the easiest way is to bug someone who was at this current event, and have your character help out ICly.

 

I'll be around most of the nights this week to handle rolls, or any other actions people want to take, or you can always ask in the thread of via PM.

Updates!

 

 

Episode 1.1 Energy Crisis:

The adventurers met in the Ceruleum processing plant, some were old friends, others new companions. After navigating the words of a surly foreman, they were given a chance to interrogate a supposed 'Garlean', involved in sabotaging the plant. Despite his initial recalcitrance, some unexpected warmth and "affection" from the Darknight Sarnai soon caused him to lower his guard. The group learned of an ambush, assault and kidnapping of his companions, the perpetrators still squatting on a Ceruleum pipe. Upon reaching the area, there was a brief but vicious struggle, the fuel thieves well prepared for interlopers.

 

As the dust cleared the thieves were found not to be Garleans at all, but pirates and sailors. Unfortunately the wrath of one Corporal Jana had been fearsome indeed, and none remained living to speak of their mission. However Evangeline and Klynzahr recognized the crests the men wore, symbols present on the airship which assaulted them weeks before on their mission to the Dusk Vigil. Who is this group?

 

And why are they operating so far away from any sea?

I've decided to add a 'Quest' tracker to the thread. This campaign could go on for a bit, and have a lot of little parts that could all go to their own places. This will not be an exhaustive list, nor ever a fully updated one, but it will give others ideas about the sorts of things they might get involved with. If you have a hunch, or your character has a goal that you do not see on the list, have no fear! Its more than possible its not on there due to laziness, ignorance, or secrecy. I'm including major characters involved (to my knowledge, there may be many more involved that I'm unaware of) so those on the sidelines can have ideas of who to speak to in order to become involved.

Pirates of the North Sky - Who were these men and women who have been so disruptive in the north? What goal or mission might they have, and more importantly, what has happened to the airship they have used in previous raids?

Uncommon Instruments - Klyn has recovered a bag of navigational tools from the fuel thieves, though despite her considerable maritime knowledge, she cannot identify the maker. Who has created tools of such fine quality... and why aren't they more well known?

Curious Crests - The bodies of the fuel thieves all bore a similar mark, Crossed swords over a captains wheel, all under a crown. They do match any known vessels flag, nor unit of the Maelstrom.

Dead God's Chest, 1.2 'Hide and Seek'

 

After the violence at the Ul'dah Ceruleum plant, where a group of unknown brigands assaulted the workers, and temporarily halted production, warriors of several nations have mobilized to stamp out the threat, and reestablish the vital Ceruleum supply chain.. They cast their eyes now towards whence the brigands came, presumably a hostile airship that is believed to be docked and hidden somewhere in the area, after damage in a recent battle.

 

Ser Martiallais Heuloix of the Temple Knights has spearheaded much of the investigation, using the records of the blessed Observatorium to track their prey to the vicinity of Mor Dhona. Having no other options available to him, he continues the search on bird and foot, following recent rumors of a particularly daring group of recent caravan raiders among the crystal wastes...
