Ilwe'ran Posted October 28, 2015 Author Share #26 Posted October 28, 2015 Hop, Coming back here to answer. First of all thank you for all your message and encouragements. I'm ok, I'm just lacking of ideas of how to fix the problems I encountered while organizing those events as the main problem is not something I can fix as it's related to the participants' behavior. I believe that I'll be back at it or some other stuff helping people to meet in small groups once I'll have more free time and my motivation back =3 . Fact is I actually did expect this sort of situation to happen, mostly because I saw it happening quite a bunch of time since I'm RPing and organizing events / encounters / plots (aka since around 15 years now). Human nature being as it is, it's unlikely to change, so better just taking a break now, having fun with my own plot and meeting new people myself (as I actually never participated to those blind meeting ,) ) rather than fully burning out and never coming back at it. @Aerius Gremory : You're not the only one not knowing much people and you're not the only one feeling odd going to the Quicksand and not managing to talk to people there. Fact is the Quicksand asks a certain mindset not everybody and not every character fits too. You need to be ongoing and somehow to "shout" the louder to be noticed and be able to find some RP there. It's somehow a rule for every events where there are a lot of people. Aside the fact you have to face the wall of text constantly scrolling which can become quite stressful after some time, you also have to deal with people who came in group to participate together to the event or to face the fact that your emote / say will be lost in the wall of text and not being noticed. I encourage you to try some events where there aren't too many people going which are the best to meet some other RPer. Make sure you pm the person you would like to RP with to be certain they noticed you, if there are a bunch of people around and you're not comfortable with the text scrolling, offer your RP partner to form a party and to RP there. I hear you when you say you have some problems to break onto the community and to find some RP, but I'm pretty sure that the main problem when it comes to that is not related to people, but actually to the game system not allowing to have some bubble showing that your character is speaking or something of that sort. It's fairly easy to miss one or two sentences in the middle of the chat mess and I'm 100% sure that every single roleplayer in big events or crowded places like the Quicksand are scrutinizing the chat to not miss their RP partner's sentence and not reading anything else than that unless pmed and asked directly for RP. Thank you for your nice words guys, don't worry I'm not going to disappear, I'll do some other stuff at time, and at worse you'll see me roaming around during the Xmas time as I tend to just give some Xmas hat to every people crossing my pass when I have 5mn to do so ,) . PS : You can also pm me in game or on tumblr and even here even though I don't come that often on the RPC, I promise I don't bite most of time =3 . Link to comment
