hello everybody! I'm brand new to ff14 but I've been wanting to play 4 awhile now. I have a Miqo'te (Seeker of the Sun) archer on Faerie and plan on going in to Bard I'm also interested in crafting particularly alchemy/carpentry/culinary/leatherworking. I've played MMO's before mostly  Neverwinter and ESO but a little WoW and FF11 as well. I never found the RP experience I've been looking for so that's why I'm hear. I specifically went looking for an RP community and found Hydaelyn Roleplayers, I have RP experience with games like Pathfinder and am a medium RPer. I'm particularly interested in romance RP but I don't insist on it.

I hope you're able to find some fun RP on Faerie! I can't speak for the community there, but if you find yourself wanting other opportunities, the RP is plentiful on Balmung - the only downside is you basically don't have a choice but to use their transfer service for $18, but, that fee includes up to 8 characters from the same origin server, so if you like alts you can transfer the whole batch for only one fee.

Yo, welcome! I can definitely vouch that Balmung is great for RP. Super active community--can seriously find RP happening around the clock it feels like. 

 

For me, it was certainly worth the transfer from Siren. If just to escape the ten bazillion gold sellers. 

 

Even if you don't though, the forums are just as active; people are very responsive and ready to help with any questions you may have, IC or not.

As O'sena mentioned, Balmung is where most of the RPers are at. However, if you go to Making Connections and the Linkshell Hall, you might find some Faerie RPers.

 

Also the neat thing about RP is that, not all RP is restricted and/or limited to in-game RP. Many people RP using our Private Message system, or through Skype.

Welcome! I'm a former resident of Faerie, I don't know what has changed there but I know it's a tight community, there is also a Faerie FB group and most of the people there are really nice. A good way to connect with folks and see if there are others that roleplay.
