Character Created from Crystal/Aether?

I am curious to know and may be somewhat misinformed with the info that lead me to think of this idea but would it be possible for a character to be created via means of another person somehow using the power of crystals/aether or whatever else to create another living being? Suppose you could think something slightly along the lines of a Mary Shelley's Frankenstein-esque kinda thing.

If so, would that created being then be at risk of say simply disappearing back into the Lifestream if the creator lost interest or no longer wished for the created being to be around? What other risks would there be? Hypothetically i'd like to discuss the possibility for a little story arc I have in mind. I wouldn't execute it so lightly but wanted to ensure it would be lore abiding if I did.

Thanks!

Well if you're thinking along the lines of homonculi, I am not quite sure if we have anything in lore on that. However we can already through advanced alchemical techniques bring back personas from the dead (strongly suggest playing or watching the lvl1-50 alchemy questline) for them to briefly interact again with the living.

It's also possible to create a soul from scratch as seen in the HW anima weapon series. It requires a long, expensive and very gruesome work on making condensed aether grow, and get affixed to what will give it sapience. Of course, you can imagine that a weapon, even with incredibly expensive, rare and intricate materials as asked by Gerolt here, is infinitely easier to create than a true, organic living being.

Allagan aetherochemistry though, used to create chimeras, homonculi of sorts, and could also clone people. It was in essence aetherology brought to a molecular level (like modern chemistry and biochemistry/DNA manipulation, but encompassing much more than just that).

Undead and zombies are definitely a thing, but that would be necromancy (on which we don't have much info). You can also attach tortured, wandering souls that didn't get back to the lifestream to corpses, and animate them (cf Palace of the Dead).

Thanks for the info! I was more thinking along the lines of the creation of a true organic sentient being as you say; such as just another Hyur for example but imagined there may be some sort of drawback to their existence specifically because of its true origin of creation. I'll certainly have to delve a little deeper though.

This is an idea I've played around with in private, as it starts getting a liiiiitle too close to the lore stretch/bend/break thresholds for more casual RP scenarios.

So. We have the things Valence mentioned above, and we also have working knowledge of aetherial teleportation as well. As in, we know a body can be broken down into aether and then reconstructed, almost always with the use of Aetherytes as a homing beacon of sorts to prevent a person from basically just dissipating back into the aether as if they were dead. Elaborating from there, it stands to reason that if you could obtain enough aether and some form of shaping it, some form of a body could probably be generated, as this is exactly what happens during a primal summoning. One would probably run the risk of creating something akin to a primal, however, which, we know are self-aware and can think, but are shaped in the image of their summoning with a never-ending thirst for aether. That last bit would probably be your bigger hurdle in my opinion. Or the being potentially just...using all of its/their aether to the point of no longer existing, as there's no form of anima or aether reserves to act as a life force.
