Returner, but RP noob!

Hello! I have RPed in FFXIV before, but it was right around the time that Heavensward dropped, and only for about a month. I'm leveling Mitsuba to relearn the game. It's very nice to meet you!

 

• MMORPG background

 

I've played a lot of MMOs, chiefly WoW and Wildstar. I quit WoW about two weeks into BfA because of... fairly obvious reasons if you have read about the expansion at all on the internet. When Wildstar went down I bounced between different MMOs to see if something stuck before returning to FFXIV. I have some friends who play it, but they're mostly on hiatus until Shadowbringers drops. 

 

• RP experience

 

I've been RPing since before Vanilla WoW, but as of recent I have not RPed in any seriousness for about a year and a half - so I'm rusty and call myself a potato (even though I objectively know how to words good). 

 

• Character ideas/info

 

Everything is very up in the air as I relearn the game/lore. I did play through Stormblood on my bard, but I'm keeping everything pretty basic so I can pick up more stuff for Mitsuba as I continue along. Mitsuba is a lancer, the daughter of a raen who left the mainland and only took her with him, who operates out of Kugane. She's striking out on her own to learn about the world. Quiet, patient and self-assured, she's a persistent optimist who sees a beauty in the world - and endeavors to protect that as much as she can. I've been reading up on the concept of wabi-sabi while developing her. That's about all I have for her, honestly, and I hope by RPing her I will learn more about her/where I want to take her. 

 

• How did you learn about the coalition?

 

I knew about it before. I think I initially found it through Google but it was loooong long ago, before it was in the format it is now. 

 

• What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? (e.g. Light, medium, or heavy)

 

Probably somewhere between medium and heavy, just based on how much free time I have. 

 

• Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc.)

 

Hmmm. I work in the legal sector. I graduated from grad school in 2013. I have the sweetest, stupidest cat in existence. He's 17 and has exactly one tooth. He is very sweet, though, even if he constantly flops into my arm when I'm trying to dungeon.

Welcome back! The aesthetics may have changed here, but the people are even more warm and welcoming! If Mitsuba ever gets super curious as to what direction her life is going, I do tarot readings and Remi! I just bought a new deck on my way home today and I could totally put them to good use~
