Dropped by to say my hellos

Hello,

Just stopping by here to get started. I'm kind of a returning player though honestly I did not get very far. Real life things also I was playing WoW but with some friends suggestions I am giving this another shot. Along with the fact that Shadowbringers was gifted to me. So far really enjoying myself! But I would like to eventually get involved in roleplay I'm still learning the lore and game but would love to get some tentative and casual connections going for my character.  Once I have a better grasp on things and my character, I consider my roleplay style adaptive but prefer heavy, detailed roleplay with a lot of character and story progression.

I've mostly roleplayed in Guild Wars 2 and WoW with a little bit in Elder Scrolls Online. I also enjoy PVE and being out in the glorious virtual world especially one so pretty as this one. Right now I'm on Diablos to be in my RL friend's guild, sorry, they are free companies here, :)  for experience bonus but will be willing to transfer servers should I find the right free company. However I'm more then willing to server visit for roleplay events and meet-ups.

My main character is Tihomir Josavsch - Hrothgar of the Lost clan. I'll be putting together some other posts, in the appropriate forums and a wiki page. But just wanted to  do a little intro post.

I'm glad you gave FFXIV a chance, whoever gifted you the game clearly loves you. ^_^ Being part of your friends' Free Company will ensure a smooth transition into the game, faster learning and a much easier progression for any character you make. Sounds like the right call to me!

Did you play Guild Wars 2 during it's first year? That's what the FFXIV community reminds me of, which is very pleasant.

It's more like my family knows I like gaming but they don't know exactly what games, so alot of times they are like "here is some extra money go buy a game"  And yeah,  it always helps to have people willing to be patient and teach you the ropes because this game can be a bit overwhelming for a noob like me.

I did actually play GW2 very heavily when it first came out for about 3 years and I agree, it was a blast with a lot of great people. And the RP was lots of  fun. Hopefully I can get some roleplay going with some cool folks here too.

Yeah, I know that feeling. Not many gamers in my family growing up. It's the thought that counts though, and they made the right call not taking a wild guess and hoping they got lucky. :D I watched a couple of beginners guide videos before trying FFXIV because I didn't want a repeat of Black Desert Online. That game overwhelmed both me and my computer when first tried it.

Rolling a new race often helps with finding RP, at least from what I've experienced. It's cool to see the new character models show up and all of the variations players have come up with.
