Tyriont Posted July 26, 2010 Share #102 Posted July 26, 2010 I love to ERP with my linkshell friends. I love to ERP with random strangers... NPCs... chocobos... lamp posts... fruit... Mmmm Sweet sweet Rolanberry... so juicy... so... purple. How I love thee... *strokes the Rolanberry and gazes at it longingly* Do you mind? I'm having a private moment here! *Stares at book in shock* *turns book sideways, eyes getting bigger* With a MELON?! Don't assume Ren is joking, by the way. That poor lamp post is still in extensive therapy. Don't even ask about the pamama incident... Link to comment
Tadir Posted July 26, 2010 Share #103 Posted July 26, 2010 I guess I'll throw in my two cents, (by the way, would that be gil? people say that a lot, but I always equated a gil with a dollar.) I've never been one to get into ingame romantic relationships. Something might develop over time, but I also straight up refuse to get into eRP. Just not my cup of tea. Link to comment
Axl Posted July 26, 2010 Share #104 Posted July 26, 2010 It can be really fun, as long as its diverse, if the character's are completely the same, it gets boring. Link to comment

The Japanese use Yen, which is similar to cents. You'll see something in the grocery store for 1000 Yen, which only sounds like a lot if you don't realize that it's about ten dollars. Personally I find our whole decimal system with currency quite bothersome (especially pennies-- pennies should be done away with altogether). But I'd sooner see us switch to metric. Link to comment

The American currency system (I assume you're talking of the american currency, pennies and what not) is already a metric based. Meters to dollars, Decimeters to dimes, all that business. Seraphine Felstar Posted July 26, 2010 Share #110 Posted July 26, 2010 Thanks everyone who complimented Seraphine. She's my sweetheart <3 Don't assume Ren is joking, by the way. I never assumed he was joking. As long as I don't have to see it and he gives all lamp posts a disclaimer, have fun Renaise Link to comment
ArmachiA Posted July 26, 2010 Share #111 Posted July 26, 2010 Cute baby!!!!! How old is she? I actually met my boyfriend on FFXI too, we've been dating for 5 years. I had no idea this was common Also Crystal: Ellion is a lot like Zane (I can see them getting along in game) he loves endgame (It's why the Crimson Blades is both RP and endgame) and really considers himself a light RPer, while I consider myself a more medium RPer. Iroh Posted July 26, 2010 Share #112 Posted July 26, 2010 I actually met my boyfriend on FFXI too, we've been dating for 5 years. I had no idea this was common I actually believe it's more common lately than people realize. Every time I leave the country now and have to explain why I'm going, the Customs individuals say things like: "You met your fiancé online? Let me guess... some computer game like WoW?" It seems the Customs people and boarder control are well versed in the occurrence of people meeting online and getting together through video games. And if it's that widespread on a country -> country level, just think how it might be within boarders. Link to comment

ESPECIALLY in game communities where there's a high frequency of interaction and a lot of topics discussed beyond what got nerfed this week. So, like this one. Link to comment

I think it's kind of a shame actually didn't get off the ground so other companies could mimic it... Then again... maybe it's for the best... Link to comment

Then again... maybe it's for the best... I honestly could go either way with that myself. Personally I don't mind having my name out there so much, but there's a lot of room for abuse and stalking. My guildies already know who I am and where I live anyway though, so I'm probably screwed. Link to comment

Seraphine Felstar Posted July 27, 2010 Share #118 Posted July 27, 2010 My daughter (Seraphine Rose, after my FFXI character) is 1 year and 5 months old. That picture was from last Halloween but it's the only small one I have online. Honestly I think it's kinda odd Zane and I met in a game, but whatever works I guess :: shrugs :: Honestly I don't mind people getting to know me irl from in game as long as their people I actually enjoy being around and have known for a while. However, if you show up at my house and I didn't invite you personally I do want you to know I have an armed ninja in my living room. Funny thing is I'm not joking Link to comment
