Seriously? What a douche thing to do. If you connect via a client you can modify your login scripts to where you are just logging in to #FF14RPChat. I took #vanadiel off my login list. If you are using the online clients I think you have to just close out that tab after you log in.

Edit: I just tried to join #vanadiel to see if there was a mod on I could complain to but it's not letting me in that room either. Which is honestly fine, since the #vanadiel room is usually a bunch of pricks talking about all the hookers they've never had in Las Vegas.

Edit #2: APPARENTLY they have banned several roleplayers from the #vanadiel channel. Good lord. Fortunately the people on the #eorzeapedia channel seem much more friendlier anyway, and the general owners of ffochat.com don't have an issue with us..

Edit #3: (final edit!) Charitwo spoke up and said this:

if you're only here for the rp channel, then we don't need you join flooding #vanadiel

the reason is you clearly don't want to be in the channel, as you leave immediately after joining, so i am circumventing the force join

So, he's banning RPers that don't want to use the #vanadiel chat room but are getting force connected upon log in.

Done got booted from #vanadiel too. I think it's time for us to move our IRC channels elsewhere.

That goes for you too, TALE. :P Don't give these rude little punks your business.

There are people out there who don't want to be forced into here. >:|

<+Potato> you need to stop connecting to this server

Are you the owner? I don't think so.

<+Potato> no, but the owner obviously wants anyone who connects to this server to be in this channel

I've been told the actual owners of FFOChat are much more understanding towards those who want to start up their own chat channels associated with their communities - which also happen to be connected by one common thread: Final Fantasy

Well, duh.

But it is a bit annoying.

<+Potato> and then bans your idiots when they join

<+Potato> but it's not his problem

<+Potato> it's yours

* Feral shrugs.

<+Potato> you're the ones bitching

*** Luxuria kicked Feral from the channel: If its so annoying just don't come back.

That said, I believe we need to go to another server. I suggest Allakhazam. There's a good FFXI/XIV community on there, along with a bunch of other MMOs.

irc.allakhazam.com is where I recommend we go. I'm a bit familiar with Pikko from the FFXI/XIV Zam community, so I'm sure she can set us up. She's busy or AFK half the time though. xD

Who's in agreement?

If Zam has one, I'd definitely suggest using it. If a similar problem arises there, I can shoot Pikko or Thayos an email and hopefully put a stop to it. I've been talking to them this past week about RPC stuff and they definitely support us. So any kind of RP discrimination will probably be dealt with much easier there.

VanaChat people really need to pull that stick out of their arse and get off their high horse >.>

man wtf is there problem? I thought FFXI had a GOOD community.

It does have a good community, but the dolts running FFOChat have had a stick up their asses about the auto-join function. They're the ones causing the problem, and they just can't SEE that. The FF14Rpchat channel at Allakhazam is up, and we're waiting for peeps to come in. I'm still looking for someone to take ownership of the channel so I don't have to keep adminning it. :P

Aveline? Please? :P

Never create something you're not willing to take care of yourself, I say this from personal experience. ^^;

That said, the whole vanachat thing gave me a pretty bad impression from the start. Having another IRC channel elsewhere might prove different or not but I think I'll stick to this here forum, either way.

To be honest, I think it is one moderator at ffochat.com that is ruining it for us, and the inaction of the other mods to do anything about it.

The whole issue with it is that when you connect to ffochat.com, it auto populates you into the #vanadiel room. They're going to have to fix this eventually anyway, once more people start moving over to FF14 and have no interest in chatting in an FF11 area. Instead of dealing with it head on, Charitwo chose to blame us for making use of the ffochat.com IRC in the way it was intended: to bring together FF11 and FF14 players for communication. I have scoured the IRC's website and there is NOTHING there that says "you must remain in the #vanadiel room at all times while using our IRC."

He is simply being a douche about it for whatever personal reason he has, and he's given the whole thing a bad name in the eyes of the RPC, which is unfortunate.

To be honest, we have a little over a month before the game comes out & I do not see the IRC being much use to us after that point, especially if people are planning on making some kind of general roleplayers alternative linkshell.

Also I really don't want to take over operator responsibilities for a new RPC channel, as I didn't want them to begin with on the other one. :P

Not So Much Of A News Flash: I've been banned from the Vanadiel chat channel sometime during the last 12 hours. I don't know why, because that spat from earlier only resulted in a kick. So what the hell?

Seriously guys, give upon FFOChat and move to Allakhazam's server for the RP Chat. I do NOT want to stay in that FFOChat IRC server for another day. There is a principle here that you guys are completely ignoring: RESPECT. If we continue to patronize the FFOChat server, we are VALIDATING their behavior.

It's like giving candy to a brat who keeps kicking your shins.
