Server meeting

Recommended Posts

Forget all of you for constantly trying to make me speak! I lost in the end!

You mean you actually spoke in the end? Why did I go to bed? Did you sounds like Barry White like we thought you would?

Anyhow, cheers for typing that up. With regards to the Skype issue, I found the classic "turn it on and off again" worked for me, but I would be in support of something like Vent. Wayward Star (which is a multigame guild, Pirates of a Wayward Star is affiliated with) has a Vent server, I don't know if it's still running, I suppose I could ask Matt (who runs it) if we've still got one and if we can add a few FFXIV channels (I've not used it for a while). We used to hold Guild meetings on Vent and we never experienced problems.

I love Vent, please please ask them? For now we're using Rhen's and his friends Mumble which can hold around 35 people but that may not always hold us. It should be good for a while though, so don't worry about it if it's going to be a bother. :)

I'm not rolling on Gilgamesh but I thought I would help out regardless concerning the server issue.

C3 Voice Chat, http://www.downloadc3.com/ apparently allows for quite a number of people and is free, the server is temporary and lasts as long as the admin is running it.

I've also used this mumble service for my current guild  http://cleanvoice.ru/free/mumble/en.html It allows for a free 50 member service and has a server in Missouri they are stress-testing their servers so I'm sure they'd welcome the test as well.

Perhaps those will be of use. :)

Thank you so much! These should prove useful

With regards to Vent. I spoke to the guy running the main Wayward Star, he's happy for us to have a Final Fantasy XIV channel on there, for Pirates of a Wayward Star, but I also mentioned server meetings, currently there's a 25 member limit as he currently doesn't need more than that (he pays monthly so that he can upgrade at any time), but I offered to contribute if we need to add more. Vent isn't that expensive.

I connected with Vee last night about vent - and I have a 25 slot (currently but can easily expand as needed) up and running (I didn't mind as I maintained a vent server during XI for the endgame LS I ran). It can be used for server meetings, dungeon runs, etc.

Food for thought, I can pass out the information as people need it and am setting up a few moderators as well since I am a workaholic and am not on vent a lot during the week.

Our new Gilgamesh Ventrilo server information can be found here: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=3504 , however thank you all SO much for offering.

If you're in a guild and have your own Vent, you're more than welcome on some nights to hop everyone over to the Gilgamesh Vent to get to know some of the other members of the community, we'd love to have you all visit now and then!

Perhaps we should arrange Gilgamesh Community Nights where several guilds all come together to hang out.

Just an idea. Let me know what you guys think.
