What's Your Weakness?

Hmm, I've never actually given it too much thought, but I think I could pull some out of memories ^^

One thing, I would say that Haru is stubborn to a fault. He doesn't like putting people in a situation to cause them burden, though he seems most any situation where someone is doing something for someone other than themselves as a burden.

He's rather weak towards alcohol... Well he was, he's still not the best with it, but his tolerance has been raised slightly with it.

While talking to people about normal situations, Haru is usually calm and rational about most things... that is until a conversation turns to a more intimate/romance related things. In these situations, he gets rather flustered and quiet, unable to speak up or even input in most topics relating.

I don't think that's all too bad... :cactuar:

Drink makes Bhara loose lipped. So if anyone has a rumor to spread, Bhara is the one to blurt it out for you.

Arrogance. Bhara sometimes talks more than she needs to when in a argument.

Fame. Bhara is always to look for the next big thing that she can sink her teeth into and become well known for.

I'll probably forget to mention some of them, but here goes

A'khenna Khai - She doesn't trust anyone who is selfish and she considers a lot of things selfish. Even when she is trying to better herself, it is with her tribe in mind, so she doesn't consider that selfish. But if you are trying to get ahead simply for your own benefit, she'll be wary of you. She can't swim. Living in the desert all of her life, she never needed to, so she never learned. She isn't afraid of water, but if it's deep enough that she can't walk through it she will refuse to go in and find a different way. If it's at or above her waist, but she can still reach the bottom, she'll walk through it but she'll be extremely uncomfortable and probably try to walk faster. She tends to spend her gil somewhat haphazardly. She grew up living off the land, so she isn't used to exchanging coins for food or supplies that she needs. She doesn't know what price things should cost, so she is easy to fool and runs out of gil easily. Because of this, she tends to eat one or two meals a day at most when in the city. She is able to eat much more when out on a leve because she can hunt and gather as much as she needs.

Idristan Sorel - He really doesn't like storms. He will refuse to go outside in one and often times needs a drink to calm his nerves while he waits for it to pass. If he is outside when one starts, he starts to feel panicky and has to find shelter. His magic has a habit of misfiring. He has to practice spells quite a bit before he's able to do them without accidentally breaking something. The first time he summoned a carbuncle, it wouldn't listen to him. It ran around his room knocking things over and generally making a mess and then disappeared. He can't cook anything that isn't fish. He grew up mostly eating fish, so he learned to cook it for himself, but if he tries to cook anything else he tends to burn it. They had other kinds of meat for special occasions, but his adoptive father always cooked for those.

I'm sure there are a lot more, but I'm having trouble thinking of them right now. Maybe I'll add to this later.

Hmm, well Lan's major flaw I suppose is that he has survivor's syndrome because he is the only one from his training unit that survived the battle of Certeneau Flatts. And this sort of leads into his other flaw, he hates Garleans. I don't want to give too much away, but it's the sort of hate that can blacken a person's soul and make them do very bad things.

Fhylie, you dog, you. She drinks too much, and loves to boast to the point of telling tall tales (it comes with the bard territory, you know). She's too damn idealistic by half and expects way too much from people. Sometimes, it's inspiring, but mostly just wrong about how good people actually are. Fhylie thinks there's good in everyone, you just have to draw it out of them.

In character, she's not actually all that talented at combat, just really, really large. Her main melee combat tactic is to let someone hit her, and then hit them back twice as hard when their guard is down. I think we can all appreciate that this isn't a good strategy, but at least she blocks. Sometimes. She's getting better, okay?

And most shamefully for a Sea Wolf, she gets seasick sometimes.

I'd say that Xydane's biggest flaw would be when people get in his way. Whether it's a fight or a personal burden, Xydane's anger and pride tends to get the best of him. Having experience the loss of many friends in past events due to said above, this trait not only hardens the character's drastic emotions but also shows the level for how much he cares for others. He just doesn't show it and would rather curse, yell, and push. This is the reason why he prefers traveling alone and dealing with everything his own way.

Loki:

~ Loki has a fake leg from a ship accident when she was a teenager. While the metal leg does fine, she isn't as mobile as she would like to be. A former Archer, she found using a bow and arrow increases the need to be extremely mobile and she found herself lagging behind. Currently, she using magical arts (Something that she hates in general) because they don't require her to move around as much. This causes some issue in her day to day life. For example: Dennthota recently introduced Loki to the Grindstone, something she can't feasibly participate in. And while she found it somewhat interesting, jealousy got the better of her (Denn being able to participate, getting accolades, etc) and she began to complain how "Boorish" the whole thing is. Which brings us to:

~ She is prideful. She won't actually admit things like the leg are a problem (And hides it by wearing thigh high boots so no one can see it) and this can cause problem for her and others out in the field. If she can't do something, instead of saying it's because of her leg, she'll say "It's boring." She won't ask for help, and she'll come across like she thinks she's better than anyone else in the room.

~ She is extremely closed off. Not only is she closed off, she just expects people still want to talk to her after being a big ol' jerk and can't understand what everyone's issue is. She has been learning to bite her tongue, but it's a slow process. She won't talk about her past, or her fears or anything remotely related to her. If someone tries, she'll redirect to get them to talk about themselves (This works 99% of the time). She's just a hard person to get to know.

~ Headaches. Currently in her story line she gets a lot of headaches that, obviously, she doesn't talk about.

~ Despite being a closed off person, she is easily lonely and fills that void with alcohol and one night stands.

___________

Armi

~ Armi grew up in a priesthood, so she is really bad with "normal" people. Awkward, awkward, awkward.

~ It takes her a long time to learn anything. She is currently training to be a battle bard (As she already knows how to play the guitar) but it is taking... a very long time for her to get the hang of it. If she had to learn how to do anything else on top of it, I think her brain would explode.

~ Mentioning "The Will of Nymiea" will send her into a rage and walking by anything related to the twelve is a trigger for her.

Fystrael:

  1. Cannot drink worth a gil - floored by one flagon of strong bitters;
  2. Only recently recovered from selective mutism.  Trigger not known as yet;
  3. Very single-minded at times, such that she may not notice those around her;
  4. Self-taught on the axe; confidence level fluctuates wildly;
  5. Compares men to her father, especially when they try to flirt;
  6. Appalling use of equally appalling metaphors (e.g. poured into bed like ale out a boot);
  7. Worries a lot about physical injuries to others (she's a tank after all);
  8. TEENAGER.

First of all... where are all you beautiful people? Taverns are hit or miss. :P

Anyway... I have two characters, so here it goes:

Weaknesses:

Aartur Nelhah: Aartur tends to be rather introverted... he's timid, even by male Keeper standards. Prone to stutter, especially around women, he's easily flustered during conversation. He's also not entirely clear on social norms, at times. (Luckily, his older sister is his polar opposite and literally drags him to interact with people.)

Also, he's something of a wimp. He'll stand up for himself on rare occasions and stand up for others slightly more frequently, but he often simply leaves or gives in. He's healthy, but not particularly strong or skilled in anything but magic and learning.

He can also be incapacitated by grabbing or yanking his tail. He hates that.

Fenenoix Ekrent: Fen... Fen becomes easily bored and will often do strange things to entertain himself, which may include anything from talking with "at least decent-looking" women to picking fights, should someone rub him the wrong way. He understands his limits and is not naive by any means, but often gets himself into trouble for no other reason that... well, he just doesn't care.

Fen's pride is often an issue, as well as his mouth. He always needs to have the last word, and if he doesn't have anything snappy or witty to say, he may not say anything at all. "Presentation is everything." Oddly, he doesn't vest a ton of value in most people's opinion of him, he just shows off for fun. :D

That said, he has a good heart, which manifests itself in altruism, both mild and substantial, depending on the situation. In these cases, he often acts without thinking, and gets himself into trouble that way. Half the time, the person he sets out to help is no better off, either, but at least they have company!

Strengths:

Aartur Nelhah: Aart's a brainiac. A specialist in Arcanima, he's talented at math and science, able to calculate things without much difficulty in his head. He takes to magic in general rather well, which usually makes up for his unimposing physical nature.

Despite his timid nature, he's quite friendly once he warms up to you.

He's also cute as a button. Is that a strength? I'm going to call it a strength.

Fenenoix Ekrent: Fen is can be rather clever when he isn't acting impulsively, hatching plans that tend to be at least plausible. A pugilist, Fen is also quick on his feet and hits hard in fights, and also learns new skills rather easily.

From a social perspective, Fen is both confident and friendly. He's almost always grinning and is near-constantly speaking in an upbeat tone of voice. He shrugs things off quickly and easily, barely letting things trip him up. Fen is also exceedingly loyal to his friends, coming to their aid whenever possible.

Once again, he has a nice face, as well. I'm still calling that a strength. 8-)
