Entity Posted April 5, 2014 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2014 Sooooo...my sub ran out a few days ago (I had totally forgotten), and I tried renewing it tonight...but for some reason it doesn't work. So far I've gotten error 406 and 601, and I'm not sure WHAT's going on. I have enough money to renew it, so I don't see what the problem is? But the part that bugs me the most is that, even though it won't let me renew, it's taking away a DOLLAR for each attempt. Like seriously, what the hell You can't accept my renewal BUT you can take a dollar from me? That seems pretty legit. Anyways if anyone has any answers please, it's kind of frustrating me. >.> Link to comment
Haven's Fox Posted April 5, 2014 Share #2 Posted April 5, 2014 That 1$ charge is an pre-authorization charge that gets refunded. I couldn't tell ya how or why it works but that's what it is. Link to comment
Kage Posted April 6, 2014 Share #3 Posted April 6, 2014 I would suggest calling customer service Link to comment
Adolar Posted April 6, 2014 Share #4 Posted April 6, 2014 I had this problem when I attempted to renew my sub twice already. Second time it happened, it locked my account from getting paid for 30 days. :dazed: So basically, in order to get around the lock, I had to buy one of those game time cards and input the code to buy some Crysta. But then that gave me an error so I had to contact customer service so that they were able to manually put the Crysta in my account. So yeah...the payment system is great! :frustrated: Link to comment
Entity Posted April 6, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted April 6, 2014 I would suggest calling customer service Yeah I have to wait until Monday I think for that. I should hope that I get the "pre-authorization" deductions back back cause that's kind astupid. I mean it doesn't accept my renewal sub but takes a dollar anyway? To me it seems like a stupid system. >.> Link to comment
Blue Posted April 6, 2014 Share #6 Posted April 6, 2014 Have you had to reapply your card's number due expiration date recently? I remember when my card expired and I reapplied its number to my bank to get a new one (with a new expiration date, but still the same numbers and codes, so I didn't have to change my payment information on any site outside of new expiration date), for a good two months SE wouldn't accept the information of the new card, as if it didn't exist yet. I had to have a friend pay for me and e-mail him the money back for a while until SE would finally accept my new payment information. Link to comment
Nykkus Trachspyr Posted April 8, 2014 Share #7 Posted April 8, 2014 This was a major issue when people were first trying to set up sub accounts at the beginning of their paid service. I don't know how most got around it. Curiously enough I would get those same errors on my gaming PC, yet when I entered the info on my wives older laptop, it went right through. Something with the browser I think. And now that it's been a while, even my gaming PC gets things through. When I had the issue I checked with my bank to confirm all charges were being accepted. They were. I contacted the payment service company (I forget the name) that SE uses, I contacted SE, none of it helped. Link to comment

I was getting error 606 mostly but now I'm getting 406, which, according to what they told me, means that I'm locked out for 24 hours. I don't know if the other 606s account for time extension, but they can't even check to see how LONG I would have to wait if I've been locked out for an extended period, so I don't know if I have to wait until TOMORROW or until like, Friday. Even though they told me why it is they take the dollar, it kind of pisses me off that they can continue to take a dollar but NOT accept my subscription payment. >.> They're telling me about all these other payment options that just take a whole lot of extra work...I don't wanna have to do something that I never needed to do in the first place because of this annoyance with the subscription payment. >.> Link to comment
Entity Posted April 12, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted April 12, 2014 4 days later still can't get into the game because my renewal doesn't work. Have more than enough money, card works for EVERYTHING else BUT this. >.> I wish they could tell me how long I'm locked out for b/c I got the 406 error for the SECOND time, which, based on what they told me, locks me out for 24 hours...I had gotten this on TUESDAY, and didn't attempt until just now...Varryn I hope you're not right and I get locked out for 30 days...really I don't want to quit a game because of terrible customer service, but Square is not leaving me much choice... >.> Link to comment
