Larson Posted October 9, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 9, 2014 Sooooooo. I'm a GW2 RPer, and a Wildstar RPer, and upon the realization that I can make a sexy roguish brute in a slutty mankini while controlling fairies with my magic book, I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy ARR. Well...what's it like? Are there many outfits and customization options to make my character who i want? Is it true that I am going to only have one character for a while? This is okay. It gives me focus. If I can run GW2 on max settings but can only run WS in the lowest settings anywhere but the home instance, do you think I'll be in tears most of the time? Compared to what GW2's RP community was before the post-megaserver exodus, what should I expect? Anything else I need to know? Link to comment
Unnamed Mercenary Posted October 9, 2014 Share #3 Posted October 9, 2014 I'll uh..try to answer as many of these to the best of my ability. Well...what's it like? Are there many outfits and customization options to make my character who i want? It's nice. There are a ton of clothing options, but if you're used to a ton of face/body options, you might be disappointed. Is it true that I am going to only have one character for a while? This is okay. It gives me focus. Depends on the subscription plan you chose. THe cheapest one is one character per server, a max of 8 servers iirc. Better plan = more characters per server. If you hadn't already bought the game, I would have said, get the 2 week trial that lets you give it a spin first. Characters could be retained. If I can run GW2 on max settings but can only run WS in the lowest settings anywhere but the home instance, do you think I'll be in tears most of the time? On the absolute lowest settings, the game will look/act like a ps3 copy. I needed to generally run on low with a laptop that was an Intel Core 2 Quad 9000 (2GHz) and Nvidia GTX 260M. [it was dated, ok]. WHen I switched over to desktop graphics and a much newer CPU, I'm now running everything at max. List your specs and we should be able to figure out everything. Compared to what GW2's RP community was before the post-megaserver exodus, what should I expect? No idea. I can say Balmung has an incredible amount of RPers and Gilgamesh has a good population too. You'll find a lot of open-world RP on Balmung. Anything else I need to know? For running the game? Prolly not. For RP, ask questions here and I'll help you hunt down resources. ...need a game referral code btw? It'll get you an item to boost exp gaining till lv20 of 50. And some other things down the line.
