Kurt S. Posted February 19, 2015 Share #51 Posted February 19, 2015 Dani has been known to teach her children to swim by throwing them from the deck of a moving ship This line....it reminds me so much of Kurt's childhood and what his mom did to him when he was 5...to see how seaworthy her child was. Oh yeah on the subject forgot to add Keil's and Momo's stands on this. As for Keil, well let's just say he got someone pregnant and doesn't know about it yet >.> Though I think he'll stop following the riddle trail when he does find out. He'll stop trying to wrestle with Dravinians in Coerthas at the moment. He'd slow down, be a bit more careful and that's something because he's very cautious ever since meeting Vari and before her. He's going to be stupidly giddy around his kid. He's got so many ideas for some bonding and, much like Kurt, probably play around with the kid too. Effectively being a second son rather than a father. Of course he's never thought much about having kids so what happens isn't so fleshed out. As for Ramona...heh, I wonder how she'll even find a guy after I complete the WoD set on her and cue *spoiler.* Granted her luck with men is nonexistent so she doesn't exactly think about things like these. She'll try to raise them as best as she can and maybe teach them how to be a firebrand like her...because everything can be solved with fire and explosions. If the guy doesn't do anything, she'll have pyromaniac children, that's for sure. They'll also probably learn to call Ququki Quki as "Cookie," adopting their mother's method of naming things. As for how many children? I dunno 3 maximum, I suppose. Effie...I don't even know where to begin with her. Atoliiiii hallpppp. Link to comment

Klynzahr Posted February 19, 2015 Share #53 Posted February 19, 2015 Dani has been known to teach her children to swim by throwing them from the deck of a moving ship This line....it reminds me so much of Kurt's childhood and what his mom did to him when he was 5...to see how seaworthy her child was. I'm sure they were not the only seafaring parents to try that tactic. Dani has always been particularly insistent that everyone who sails with her is a capable swimmer. So she was quite horrified when she first met Iyrnahct and learned that his almost four year old daughter had never been taught. In her eyes he was the most neglectful of fathers. Just for fun, I'll add in the younger generation. Klynzahr is actually quite frightened by the thought of having children. Her own mother died shortly after delivering her, and Klyn's childhood mind contrived all sorts of horrific nightmares surrounding the event. These vague fears were doubled, when she witnessed her stepmother's extremely difficult second labor. If she were to find herself pregnant in the near future, she would probably view it as her own death sentence. As for child rearing, Klyn is probably better prepared than she believes. Growing up at sea, she had few female role models and those she did have were not exactly nurturing types. However after helping to raise three younger brothers, she has amassed a fair amount of experience and would probably turn out to be a kind yet firm parent (once you convinced her she wasn't going to die). Daliane, my Elezen alt, simply has no interest in children. Although she is stubbornly devoted to her family, her lifestyle is built around protecting their assets and building business relations in Ul'dah. So she has little time for anything else. I could only see her settling down if marriage became a political necessity. If that were to happen she would probably avoid parenthood for as long as possible, and if it still became inevitable well... she would probably hire a tutor and nannies, then do her best to forget about the kid. Terrible parent right there. Link to comment
Kinono Posted February 19, 2015 Share #54 Posted February 19, 2015 I approve of this thread. I love children and I think Eorzea could use a lot more younger player characters running around. :3 I honestly wish there were a lot less. ;_; Link to comment
Antain Posted February 19, 2015 Share #55 Posted February 19, 2015 Vaughn does have a teenaged son, but is very disconnected from him. Of course, he found out about the boy only three years ago, so... I mean, he's tried, but the way Vaughn was raised gives him a skewed view of how a parent should be to his child. That said, he does want another child to raise from birth or adopt a youngling, but it's not a goal. Link to comment
Dogberry Posted February 19, 2015 Share #56 Posted February 19, 2015 Dogberry has a nine year old boy named Rhutshald. He's being raised by his aunt, unaware that Dogberry is his dad. He thinks of Dogberry as his favorite uncle, the fun one with all the stories of adventure. After the calamity, Dogberry was in no state to raise a child and more or less abandoned him. Now he's trying to reconcile and get back into the boy's life. He's expressed a desire to settle down one day and have some more children, after he gets Rhutshald back, of course. He's talked with Menelwen about it, but with the kind of life they lead now, settling down is out of the question. Link to comment

Darien Cadell Posted February 21, 2015 Share #59 Posted February 21, 2015 I got the idea from somewhere that mixed race babies in Eorzea end up like Lady and the Tramp babies, exact copies of one or the other parent, and that's why there's no half-n-halfs even though there can be half-n-halfs? Where did I get that idea? It's possible my brain just assumed it was an obvious fix. Lala-Roes can just have teeny tiny Roes that grow into normal sized ones. Yeah. That's it. I'm reaching. Qhora shares T'rahnu's secret. No babies. Ever. Her history makes her averse to the whole concept anyway. Link to comment
