As an Au Ra, tails are used as indicators of emotion a lot! *angry tail thumping* is like a big thing.

Gansukh of the Himaa tribe. Named by and after his father, this Auri warrior wields an ax primarily but is adept at using the bow and arrow as well due to being one of the prime hunters of his clan. Gansukh has a twin brother, which is fairly common amongst Himaans. Baghatur, the younger of the two is also a skilled fighter, preferring to take up sword and shield. In their adulthood, their mother was stricken with an illness unseen in the Steppe at the time. Gansukh set off to find a remedy, leaving Baghatur to tend to her. He reached as far as the Ruby Sea’s bustling port town of Kugane on his own two feet. There he hoped to find any foreign potion or magick to save his mother. None had heard of this strange disease and therefore could provide little help. However, it was after meeting an optimistic white mage he found a renewed purpose -- to take on the path of conjury himself. It wasn’t long until he realized he was terrible at white magic, to the point of exhausting his instructor. The conjuring teacher suggested that Gansukh return home and be with his mother in her remaining days instead of pursuing the impossible. Feeling all but defeated, Gansukh made the solemn trek home, and he was welcomed with upsetting news. The disease had ravaged his mother’s body to the point that she was unrecognizable. Her lustrous black scales now stood as a pale afterthought. Her skin was sallow and her eyes sunken. Stuck to his mother’s side was Baghatur; the younger Auri looked as if he hadn’t moved since Gansukh made his trek to find help. Baghatur lifted his gaze from his mother and directed a piercing stare towards Gansukh. Time’s passage had soured Baghatur’s outlook on his older brother, and he resented him for leaving him alone with their ailing mother. When interrogated Gansukh had naught to show for his time away, although it wasn’t without any effort. This further angered Baghatur, who all but threatened to end his life where he stood if he did not leave the tribes land immediately. He left hesitantly, refusing to raise a hand to his kin. It is here where his nomadic journey begins.

Sorry for the delayed response, but I can't thank you enough for the detailed reply! It gave me a lot of insight and understanding of all the questions I had! Since then I've joined a few Discord servers to try & understand the community further and it's been pretty fun! I'm working on my character bible now so hopefully, I'll get to actually start RPing soon!

Hopefully, I won't run into many formatting problems, but if I do I'll know where to run! :cactuar: While I have your attention, I have a few questions (LOL): What's the best way, in your experience, to plunge in and have a good experience? I noticed a lot of players have IC/OOC Tumblrs -- is this a standard? And what is the Tumblr RP scene like in comparison to in-game? Same as above, but in regards to Discord IC RP community? Anyone's input here would be fine, by the way! I just want to come out of the gate with a good understanding.

I just ran & put my character on Mateus so fast after reading this! As of 1/13/2018 7:56AM (PST) Mateus is still open. I'm sure that will fluctuate but if anyone is looking to make a new character (not just transfer one) it's working fine!

Hello! I've been playing for years now -- my main is actually on Masamune server which is Japanese. I speak Japanese but it's not really an RP server. I recently made a character on Hyperion but I didn't realize there are servers that have more roleplayers than others! So I plan to basically duplicate my Hyperion character onto Mateus so I can join in on the fun! I'm interested in light/medium RP for now; mostly because of time constraints (I'm in game dev school, woo!) but depending on how things go, maybe I can do heavier arcs! My RP experience overall spans from being a fake professional wrestler in MSN Groups back in the 2000s to LotR forum RP to being in the D&D club in high school. All of this while playing RPG video games ever since I could remember! With FFXIV specifically, I've always sat down & literally built my characters from the ground up - lore, family, relationships, etc. Everything has a purpose, but amongst my friends who play it was a lot more extreme than they were getting into it...so it's awesome to find like-minded people who really want to flesh out their characters! Anyhow, I'm gonna work on bringing my good boi over to Mateus & browse the forum so I can get acquainted with everything! So so excited to be here! P.S. If you happen to be on Hyperion and RP as well, I'd be more than happy to join in! From the looks of things though, I just want to join a server where RP is fairly expected so that I'll have an easier time around. P.P.S.
