1. "Few noblemen would tell you this, but a fancy diction and an exquisite home shrine will not earn you The Fury's favor more than a simple prayer said in true supplication. Not one child of Hers is forgotten, especially not those who suffer under a secular, materialist yoke. Halone's impoverished sons and daughters must hear Her teachings through a preacher of their own pedigree, and so our humble order shall bring the bread of Her grace before every mouth in Eorzea that hungers for justice. Kneel in Her name, all who suffer, and may this lowly servant of Her light tend to the spiritual scars this world has given you." -Brother Hearse OOC Info: Hello Ishgard, it's Isarn Lacordaire. It's been too long since I've preached for you, and far too long since I've stirred any trouble. On Sunday 9/30, at 7 PM EST, I'll be hosting a sermon in the Brume below The Forgotten Knight. Helpers will be present to direct anyone who may get lost. This sermon is highly focused upon how the commoners of The See may live a virtuous life, and how they may find the reverence to deliver them from the spiritual downfalls of the upper class. All of the faithful are invited, even if they are from outside of Ishgard. See you soon!
2. The Fury, in Her eternal grace, invites us to congregate in Her hallowed home. Long has She heard our devout prayers, taking note of how eager we are to drop to our knees in supplication. She smiles upon Her faithful and their fervent servitude, so let us please Her with ample praise. At dusk, in Saint Reymanaud's Cathedral, the loyal children of The Fury shalt gather in reflection, confession, and genuflection. Archimandrite Sangramore Lovellaine and his deacon will lead the faithful people of The See's Redeemer in liturgy and litany. In times of reverence, there is no noble nor lowborn, no Ishgardian nor foreigner. All who bow before our Goddess are welcome in our church's holy nave. --- OOC Info: Greetings everyone! A new priest is in town, and he's planning to guide the folks of Ishgard and any potential catechumens towards the truth of the Halonic faith. By nature, this is a very structured event, though numerous opportunities for crowd participation will be present so that the people of the parish can bring life into the cold halls of the cathedral. We will be gathering for Liturgy on Sunday, November 5th, at 7PM EST in Saint Reymanaud's Cathedral in the Pillars of Ishgard. Do attend, ye of great faith!
3. For gods, kings, or our homelands, No matter our causes, only tyrants' blood will color our hands, Our rage is our armor, our wrath is our sword, We bear fealty to fatherland, and loyalty to no lord. IC Info: So long as a man breathes, he can still be redeemed. So long as he can still hold his sword, he has something to live and die for. This is the simplistic belief of the Reavers' Edict, a former penal regiment that has tired of fighting for its former jailers and now seeks redemption through its own means. With their predatory eyes locked the Garlean Empire, unrepentant criminals, and the beasts of the realm that plague the innocent, the band of former raiders seeks to stake out its own dominion, unfettered by the law of tyrants and absolved of their sins. Come all you scoundrels, cutthroats, and brigands; grab your swords and torches, for even you may become agents of the light. OOC Info: Reavers' Edict is a brand new paramilitary FC hellbent on bringing back the free spirit of Eorzea through fire and fervor. Driven heavily by storyline RP and personal character development, this FC is a great fit for anyone feeling that they want to find their character's niche in a larger story so that they can make as much of a difference in it as they want to. Written for ambitious characters, Reavers' Edict's themes of bombast and bravado make it an ideal place to experiment with a mixture of recklessness and determination for a higher cause, be it your character's own or the goal established by the Edict. Due to most of us having unpalatable pasts, our housing is sparse and scattered, but we will soon have a small FC house in the Goblet, and most of our members have apartments in Shirogane that are used as meeting places. For those who want to join, all you have to do is message Herseur D'Sauveur either in game or on RPC. Better yet, for those who want to talk quickly one-on-one, you can add me on Discord: Батюшка#5253
4. The day of remembrance is here, my brothers and sisters, so let us gather soon. May Halone and all within her holy halls smile upon our prostration!
5. Go ahead, I promise nothing too dangerous is planned! :^)
6. "Loyal children of Halone, faithful sons and daughters of The Holy See, we are obligated to honor those that have died in holy war against the Dravanian scourge. The secularists of our good home, however, have done all that they can to spit upon the graves of those that gave everything so that we may keep the spirit and people of Ishgard strong and pure. The godless walk among us, sinners are invited to dine with the clean, and those of unholy heart are forgiven by a priesthood that has forgotten whom they serve. The spirits of our forefathers wail out, lamenting with not a single soul to hear them. I, Father Lacordaire of the True Orthodox Church of Ishgard, wish to ease their sorrow for just a single moment. If even a single good man or woman still exists within The See's gates, they must meet me in The Hoplon with a covered face and candle in hand to honor our dearly departed. If the reformists of the church have not the heart to uphold the virtues of our society, we must rise up to the occasion and do our duties twofold." --- OOC info: As continuation of the story of a schism brewing in Ishgard, all are welcome to attend a solemn liturgy held to honor all Ishgardians that died to the Dravanian Horde. Out of respect for those whose bodies could never be identified or found, all attendees are asked to cover their faces and refrain from speaking outside of personal and communal prayer. The vigil will take place on Tuesday, June 6th, at 6 EST in The Hoplon of Ishgard's Pillars. I apologize for the short notice, but much has been planned to happen for this story line in a short time, and those who come along can expect the repercussions of this event to continue to unfold for the rest of the week. Thank you all, and may Halone guide us to the true path!
7. The big day is here! I'm eager to see Whitebrim full of the truly faithful. May She smile upon us all!
8. Just a few more days until the liturgy. May the True Orthodox Church of Ishgard rise up, and may its adversaries tremble in terror before it!
9. And so the unfaithful have been revealed unto the true sons and daughters of Halone. As verily as all hardships are tests sent from Her to gauge our devotion, the existence of the foes of the True Ishgardian Orthodox Church within Her home are a test of our willingness to tolerate evil. For all with the faith to crush the head of the whispering serpent, this is a summon to assemble in Her holy name. True children of The See, do not weep, for we shalt wash our hands and the blades that they wield in preparation for the greatest test of our faith to come. Join Father Lacordaire and all with the spirit to fight for the faith at Whitebrim, and see the legions of the faithful rise up to Her call. --- OOC info: On Saturday 5/27 at 6 PM EST, all are invited to gather at Whitebrim for a blessing of weapons and liturgy for the preparation for war. This event is a continuation of the consequences of the last sermon's resolution, one that left on the unsettling note of a schism brewing under the looming shadow of Ishgard. Though it is unclear just how far the traditionalists of the church are willing to take their zeal, one thing is certain: It's spreading like a contagion.
10. Though the sermon may have accidentally started a mass schism, I would say it went quite well! For those seeking to avoid religious riots, it may be best to steer clear of Ishgard for a little bit.
11. Clinically depressed priest channels his impotent rage and accidentally becomes a radical Halonic terrorist.
12. Just one more week until the next big sermon! As well, happy Easter for all who celebrate! I hope that everyone's day today is full of introspection and close time with loved ones, regardless of beliefs. In The Fury's name, walk with purpose and walk with power.
13. Saint Reymanaud's Cathedral opens its doors to outsiders yet again as two key questions to living the good life that The Fury has offered unto us are to be answered. Father Lacordaire of the Black Sun Covenant, once more, will offer himself as a vessel to Her word so that Ishgardian and foreigner alike can know with utmost clarity what it means to be a true follower of Halone, and what is expected of any loyal citizen of The Holy See. Times of political turmoil and reform are no reason for one to shirk their obligations to Gods, king, and country. Let Halone's strength fill you to the brim so that you can serve as an exemplar in all of your duties. --- OOC info: On 4/23, 5 PM EST, all are welcome to Saint Reymanaud's Cathedral in The Pillars of Ishgard to partake in a sermon dedicated to improving the personal lives of those within The Holy See and those outside of it. This event is meant to be one of communal cooperation, and therefore contribution is not only greatly appreciated, but also encouraged. All guests are welcome to offer stories from their life or questions on how to proceed in a way that best fits Halone's vision for them. If you have any questions, please do contact Isarn Lacordaire either on here or in-game! May The Fury guide you to a greater path. [EDIT: Event date changed to Sunday, 4/23]
