Nope. I'm past the 20 hour mark now. I doubt it's going to be fixed before Early Access because this beta is so short.

I'm starting to think that because it's just open beta they won't bother to reset the servers. Since it's been over an hour since it's started, anyway. Well, as long as this problem is sorted by early access I'll do my best to be patient. However, this doesn't stop me being disappointed.

So the last reponses to this was about four hours ago. I can confirm I got the same error when I logged off last night, around eight hours ago and I am still getting it this morning. Will the servers be reset anytime soon as I doubt my problem it going to fix itself?

In the end I decided to change the name, and updated my character's history/background accordingly. Little has changed, in fact, but sometimes change is necessary. Thanks guys!

So originally I had settled on the name Xanthe Morganach for my Roegadyn Sea Wolf Female, but as we've slowly edged closer to launch I am starting to have second thoughts. I've done a lot of (painful) lore research into Roegadyn names (of which there are even more rules for female sea wolves) and finally came to one I think is 100% lore friendly and that I like. So, the original name was Xanthe Morganach, could be made lore friendly as it's Highlanderish. And the new name would be Guldthota Syhrdoenwyn - Golden Daughter, daughter of Fearless Thunder. If you're interested in the character's background, a very basic history is up on my character's wiki. I really can't decide, so please feel free to post your opinions, suggestions or even a brand new name! Thanks! (also if i've made a mistake or something in the lore isn't quite right, feel free to point that out)

Just dropping my Roegal in here for good measure! Actually, all the information (there's not much) is on the wiki, here. I actually had my heart set on the name 'Xanthe' from Beta before I even found this website and looked into the naming conventions. I'm glad I did though, as it helped flesh out my character's background. I'm glad there are a few of us who are playing as Roegadyn. I wouldn't worry if backgrounds/personalities are similar because this won't matter one bit once we actually get to know our characters more. Obviously, if you stick to traditional Roe backgrounds, they are all going to be from the same place (and maybe they knew each other from there) so that could be interesting to RP with.

Bad latency is also a big issue for me, since I live in the middle of nowhere and my internet provider isn't... let's say it's not the best. I really hope it doesn't make it unplayable as I really don't want to be the only RPer on an EU server. Sigh. We can only wait and see though, right? Pleased to meet you! Since I am from the UK I would've prefered to roll on an EU server, but honestly the RP community is so small (in comparison with the rest of the playerbase) that there isn't much point. However, I am really interested to find out how you play on a JP server as in FFXI they were notoriously biased towards the Japanese-speaking players if there was a dispute. I hope that there is at least a small RP community on Tonberry for you to interact with - and if there isn't, and you find you want to do more RP you can always move your character, right? Take care!

Which is exactly why, for RP reasons, I am picking Warrior over Paladin.

From months ago I knew I was going to make my main a Roegadyn female (as you can see from my avatar picture). I'm a big fan of Norse lore (being a heathen myself) and they really appealed to me, being based of Frost and Fire giants. They also represented (like the Highlanders do) a really 'western' representation to the world of Eorzea, which I think results in a more interesting mix of races. So it doesn't matter that they are under represented by the vast majority of players because this is an RP community which results in much more interesting characters regardless. Also, it makes your character far more likely to stand out.
