Sounds like Kevaraan and Shizu could have even traveled together at some point! They seem very similar! Entirely possible. Even if they weren't traveling for the same reasons, boats and airships certainly aren't instantaneous from an immersive viewpoint, and it would be relatively easy to get bored. So, I can see them at the very least striking up regular conversation--they do have the potential to get to know each other well, especially if these conversations happened frequently. He has always traveled with his parents (up until Carteneau), so he has no established group (like an expedition or anything like that) but it's certainly workable if you'd like. Well, as Shizu has no connections outside of the Free Company she's running with, I certainly wouldn't mind her having a "friend" outside it.

Hey guys, First and foremost, I just want to say that I wasn't sure where else to put this, so I put it here. If it should be moved, just go ahead and move it! Anyway, The Hungry Wolf is a new Free Company/Linkshell that will be officially starting at release, on Balmung. We're all essentially new players (Although some, like myself, have some experience from 1.0, we're all starting fresh.) so anyone is more than welcome, and our recruitment is open now. We ARE listed in the linkshell list, but it seems like most posts there don't really get noticed, so I just wanted to post this here to get a bit of notice. Ok, so Shizu is from Limsa, so anyone who frequented the docks could potentially know her. Also, anyone from Limsa could potentially know her parents who both died out at sea in a shipwreck during a storm (although no one knows if the storm was the cause of the sinking ship. After that, she took an interest in scholarly studies, so anyone who did research in a library from any of the major cities could have run across her in her travels. Now she works as a Book-keeper and public relations for an odd-jobs company called The Hungry Wolf. So, LandStander, she could potentially be a debtor if you could have ended up in debt to a freelancing company. Anyone that wants to make connections, lemme know! I can give you Shizu's full backstory (her wiki page should be done soon, I hope.)

My character's name is (technically) W'shizu Nelhah. She is a mixed tribe (1/2 Keeper, 1/2 Seeker) so the name keeps her father's clan abbreviation and took her mother's surname. However, her parents died out at sea while she was young and she was taken care of by a Midlander named Ayana. After the Cataclysm, she shortened her name to Shizu, and took Ayana as a last name, therefore Shizu Ayana is what she goes by.

Shizu listened for a moment. The song seemed to start with a few changing tempos, but it steadied itself after a number of bars. When the steadied melody began, Shizu quickly picked up a rhythm, and drummed in time with the pan flute, tapping her foot along to the beat, trying to keep her drumming steady. Having found a strong beat, she looked back at Felix. "Some test this is!" She said, grinning, while adding flourishes to the beat. It was clear she was just showing off now.

Shizu merely grinned, taking another gulp of mead. "Play whatever you like! If I can catch the melody, I'll drum along." She hopped herself up onto the table beside Felix, and placed a nearby empty food tray on her lap for her to drum on. She stretched out her arms and hands, cracking her knuckles. "Ready when you are, sir!" She tossed another big smile at Felix.

Shizu looked over to the dancing Miqo'te and nodded with a smile as she continued to drum along with the pan flute. She continued trying to drum with one hand while she took a long sip from her mug, only to place it back down and continue drumming along. She hadn't had a nice break to let loose in a while, and was determined to enjoy it while she could.

After a fairly long day of sifting through papers, Shizu had finally got a chance to relax. Naturally, as she passed the tavern, the smell of mead danced across her sensitive Miqo'te nose. With a grin and a shrug, she put the idea of nap behind her and walked into the tavern, with the allure of some mead fresh in her mind. After grabbing a mug from the two Miqo'tes managing the bar, Shizu goes to sit at an unoccupied table. Despite working with papers all day, she still wore good looking clothing. It may look like a scholar's outfit, but Shizu had altered it just so, making it a bit more feminine. She was roughly 3 or 4 inches taller than the barmaid, including ears. Her hair was mostly brownish-red, with white fringes, and framed her face neatly. She always wore a hairband to keep it out of her face, but still liked to wear the large mage-type hats, even over the hairband. Now, sitting down, she took the hat off, folded it, and stuffed it in her pack. She'd worry about the creases and wrinkles later - for now, she was at a tavern. It was time to relax. About then, she noticed the light, flowing notes of a pan flute. Of course, it was a song she had never heard before, but she loved music, and this melody was as catchy as they come. After a few bars of listening, she stood and approached the man who was playing the song - a young midlander, who seemed to be about her age. She had a good grasp on the song's beat and tempo now. She placed her drink on the table, and began to drum lightly on the table's surface nearby. "Just a passing musician, if you don't mind." She said with a smile.

Beatric Reid, huh? I'd say...a 7. I like the name, but it doesn't really fit a Roegadyn. Especially with how ridiculous Sea Wolves names' can get, I feel like it lack originality. My character's name is W'shizu Ayana. Go easy!

I'm all for this. Redoing emotes over and over can be a pain, especially since they automatically go into the chat....it crowds the chat really quickly. I also think that they should implement for seated emotes. They already have a sitting emote for doze, but its the only one. Why not more?

Hello everyone! I just wanted to drop by here and introduce myself. For my purposes here you can all call me Shizu. I'm the co-leader of an RP Free Company, and we've officially listed here as of today, with me heading the public relations sector of the FC. I figure it's impolite to just add our group to the listing without some introduction here so...here I am! I'm 21, a Miqo'te player, and I play on Balmung. I played back in 1.0 but didn't get far into it because I couldn't find a good place to belong. Hopefully with ARR, I can remedy that. I've RPed in several different games, the most recent being Neverwinter, and TERA right before that. In fact, most of the FC people I'm running with came from TERA. As for my FFXIV Character, I plan on putting a wiki page at somepoint...I'll link it here somewhere. As for RP in game, I really -enjoy- medium to heavy RP, but it doesn't always happen that way. And I like to write rather colorful backstories for my characters, as I really like to write! Anyway, it's nice to be here, and its nice to meet you all! BACKGROUND The Hungry Wolf is a mercenary Free Company that primarily serves the region around Gridania. Experts in forest warfare, they excel in operations requiring small teams in wooded terrain. From simple delivery or escort duties, to extraction, recovery, and full on assault missions the Hungry Wolf operates quickly, with an effective combination of speed, stealth, and power inspired by the wolves they seek to emulate. With its home on the Balmung server, the Hungry Wolf is both a Free Company and a Linkshell (open to non FC members who wish to RP with the group). Founded by the eponymous Hungry Wolf, a pre-Calamity veteran of a similar forest-based mercenary company, who sought to stem the tide of banditry and violence that followed the Calamity in Gridania and the Black Shroud. Originally created as a vigilante group that operated outside of society, the Hungry Wolf has settled itself in Gridania and earned the grudging respect of the Twin Adders, often serving as an auxiliary peace-keeping and occasional Shroud-based strike force among other business interests. Led by Shizu Ayana and Hikaru Takeba, the Hungry Wolf strives to protect the Shroud as well as to become the foremost woodland mercenary force in Eorzea. Operating in units called Packs, Hungry Wolf operations are designed to take advantage of their special training and experience in the woodland terrain of the Shroud. Like the predator from which they take their name, units move quickly and quietly: striking suddenly with sufficient force to overwhelm their opponent before disappearing back into the forest. This places stress not only on combat ability but also on physical fitness and readiness, and on the ability to strike together with coordinated effort over long distances which demands effective communication, and a unifying team ethic centered on the Wolfpack. INFO The Hungry Wolf is an RP Free Company and Linkshell. The Hungry Wolf is run conjointly by Shizu Ayana and Hikaru Takeba both In and Out of character. Just under the Alphas in rank are the Pack Leaders Jack Swift and Phayte Lior. Directly below the Pack Leaders are the Betas Kagerou Imaizumi and Aya Foxheart. With the Free Company being small still, we are actively recruiting. Events for RP are constantly being planned, and we often get together for simple RP for no reason as well. The officers ask that you refrain from cursing or inflammatory comments on the website as well as in game. This goes hand in hand with treating each other with respect. If you're unable to control your words and such, the Wolves may not be the community for you. ( As this guild does utilize a Ventrilo server, please respect the same guidelines unless in an appropriate channel ) Being a Wolf means that : 1. You will be respectful of other people ( Wolf or not ) at all times, because you hold our name to the highest standards of performance and behavior. You understand that any form of harassment will not be tolerated under any circumstance. You will be mindful of others and recognize that not every individual has your understanding of the game. Constructive criticism is valued much more than blatant bashing. 2. You will not take any game too seriously. It's true that we all have various goals and dreams in playing the games that we play. However, being a serious gamer, and overdoing things are two very different things. When you become frustrated at any task, it's time to take a break and let things work themselves out. 3. Focus more on helping others, less on yourself. This is a direct, word for word, Core value borrowed from my source (with a few revisions). If the majority of your in-game guild chat is asking for things, rather than offering help and services back to the pack, then the Wolves may not be the right den for you. CORE OFFICERS While some names have yet to be completely decided upon, this is a list of our Officer Core, and their duties. Hikaru Takeba: The Alpha Male of the pack. He is in charge of various on-goings in the company, and is a resolute shield-bearer. Shizu Ayana: The Alpha Female of the pack. She is in charge of all the book-keeping the company requires, as well as many other various tasks. She is a more than competent strategist and scholar. Jack Swift: One of the two current Pack Leader. Jack is a lazy mercenary, but is quick to get the job done when the time comes. Phayte Lior: The second of two current Pack Leaders. She is a reliable fighter, and a great friend besides. When a job needs doing, Phayte is always happy to help. Kagerou Imaizumi: One of the two current Betas. Kage is a great fighter, and reliable when things need to be punched. Aya Foxheart: The second of the two current Betas. Aya, alongside Shizu, is responsible for much of the RP. LINKSHELL/FREE COMPANY DUALITY Our Free Company will have a Linkshell that is also used for communication. That is, The Free Company Chat is In-Character ONLY. Any Out-Of-Character chatting will be done in the accompanying Linkshell so as to not have Roleplay interrupted with Looking for groups messages, and the like - unless of course, you want to RP the questing! EVERYTHING ELSE Until our number expand some, we will have completely open recruiting. However, we DO ask that you are 18 or older, or we will give you an interview to be sure we are okay with you joining. We have a running Ventrilo server, which you will have access to after you join. While it may be daunting at first as the officers at this point are all good friends, don't feel that it will be hard to break into the group. We are a fun group to hang around, and are happy to accept any new additions that are interested in joining our (keeping the wolf motif) pack. Also!
