This. During the quest line they tell you about a woman known as the Mongrel and when you find her she even tells you about how she accepted what she is no matter the opinion of the others and how her mother was tossed to the side after the noble had his fun. Yuuup. I must've just missed it. Whoops!

Alphinaud being one wouldn't surprise me, really. Though, I feel like as a more unique main character himself, he gets to be all special like that. Whereas, since Hilda is less of a main character, her appearance may be the first of many new characters to be more unusual? I think it'd be really cool if SE decides to do more with her and characters like her.
-
Ok, so having gotten to the point now where a good amount of the RPC has probably participated at least up until the point where you meet Hilda, I'm curious to see what people here think regarding her design - her race, that is. I mean, she definitely appears to be a half-Hyur, half-Elezen to me, but is that the vibe that everyone else got too? Or is that just me? Also, last two things before I leave this post in favor of discussion, if it's been confirmed that she is in fact a half breed at some point later, then I must've just missed it. And second...if she is, I wonder is SE will start introducing more cross-race characters?

I apologize for the double post, but I would like to directly reply to Kage on what is happening with bards. So bards, normally a highly mobile class has a lot of skills off the global cooldown and procs. The change to a cast based system has not modified these off these key abilities. Wanderer's Minuet removes auto attack damage for a 20% buff. It looks good on paper, until you realize that 25% of Bard damage is auto attack. Ok, that is a DPS loss so far. Next, they rely on the combination of Heavy Shot proccing a auto crit Steady Shot. The problem is that with the additional cast time on Heavy Shot it takes two full global cooldowns for the Steady Shot proc to go into effect. This is an issue that Blackmage has with Fire Starter. The other issue they have is with their two DoTs resetting the Bloodletter recast timer. Being able to weave Bloodletter + Buffs into a Bard rotation was essential. Now with the cast timer they are only able to do one or the other, limiting their ability. All together not only do Bards loose access to 25% auto attack damage for a 20% damage buff, they also lose the ability to use key attacks. Right now it's advisable to just ignore Wanderer's Minuet completely and continue the normal bard style. As a BRD main, that's not quite what I found. Now, mind you, I may not really be totally correct here, but what I found is that Wanderer's has its uses. First, Bloodletter actually remains without a cast time even when Wanderer's is up. In addition, a proc'ed Steady Shot also has no cast time. Plus, with the addition of Iron Jaws, you should only ever need to use both your DOTs once for the majority of a (boss) fight. Plus, with the addition of Empyreal Arrow and the change to Barrage (it now makes the next skill hit three times for normal damage) you can get a really impressive blast off every 60 seconds when barrage is up (I'm hitting for about 3300 at 56 with that, since it can't crit). So, really, Wanderer's isn't bad during boss fights if you manage yourself right. I can't say whether it's better or worse than not using it since I don't have a parser, but it feels at least as strong given a longer fight and good rotation. (also, apologies for any typos or such, I'm on my phone)

Hmm. Has anyone come across anything about how an Au Ra's horns function to help them with spacial awareness? I'm really curious how that all functions, but there doesn't seem to be anything on it.

Hey guys! So, I've been working on a personal project for a little while now, and I think I'm at the point where I'm more or less ready to start trying to spread the word about it. Aaaand as it's kinda-sorta RP like, I thought the community here would be a great place to start. So, basically, what I'm doing is writing a story through a blog network, utilizing several blogs written by various characters and a hub blog. Right now, there's only the hub blog and one character blog, but it will be expanding in the future - maybe even soon. The idea is that on each character's blog, they can and will interact with the readers who can directly have a hand in the development and decision making of the characters. This basically means that the writers involved will be roleplaying their characters. However, the story will be ongoing and having an overarching plot in addition to each individual character's plot. Now, in addition to all of this, while the story is very much fantasy-style, it also is taking place in the real world. That is, not a setting of the real world, but the actual real world. Each and every character involved will be up to date on current events, current TV, current games, etc. - assuming it's within their character to know that stuff. And even going further, they'll each be effected by the weather and events taking place in their locations. For example, the character that is currently being written resides in New York right now, so he would be effected by anything major going on in the city. So... yeah! If you're interested, please check it out! The hub blog is here, and the character blog that's up right now is here. Also of note if you plan on reading it: There will be periodic posts on the hub blog when things happen that are better for typical prose style writing. These are labelled with their dates, so reading make sure to check those posts when you get to that point in the character blogs. If you have any questions or comments you can totally post em here. And if you like it and want to comment on the character blog, please do! It'll make things far more interesting~! [Edit: Changed thread title to something more appropriate.]

Rinslet Branwen Battle intro: The Sword of Promised Victory Victory: "Whew! If you ever want another beating, come find me!" Defeat: "Ugh. I've had enough of this..." Assist: "Don't worry, I can handle this. From waaay over here!" Taunt: "That's the best you can do? C'mon, I'm blind!" Reacting to Taunt: "Pft. Was that supposed to be intimidating?" Flee: "Never any shame in a tactical retreat!" Reacting to Flee: "You show your back to an archer? Are you desperate, or just stupid?" Tie: "Gods, you're an exhausting one, aren't ya?" Perfect Victory: "Oh gods, I'm so sorry...that must've been embarrassing."

My favorite is Maki - I'm always a sucker for the tsundere type... Admittedly, Aishiteu Banzai! being my favorite Love Live! song might have something to do with it. It's right up there with Snow Halation and Loveless World. My girlfriend is a big fan of Eli and Nico though...I, too, hear Nico Nico Nii a ton.

I'll bite. I'm on my phone at work right now, so I'll make a bigger post later. However, I'll say for now that my favorite series is Spice and Wolf. Also, as for the ones most recently mentioned, I'm a huge fan of Ouran, Kimi ni Todoke and Chibi Vampire. Love live though...that series is amazing. Who's your favorite?

You should totally get in touch with me, too! My character, Rin, is also blind. I think we should get together and have some fun! Edit: And if you're still looking for a "master" how about work as a maid? Clumsiness is acceptable. -
... no chili cheese fries? D: Bacon cheese fries.

Ok, let's be honest. Strike Witches is awesome, even if it IS a world without pants. And Girls und Panzer? Equally as awesome. Kill la Kill, too, though I didn't like it as much as the other two.... And yeah. Any anime like those are likely on my guilty pleasure list....

>.> <.< >.> ...Love Live!

Rin can't see the glass, and likely will knock it over.

I don't really watch YouTube much, but I've recently stumbled across this guy's let's play videos and have since watched every video he's done for Dark Souls 2. He's great with on-the-spot comedy and commentary, and clips out all the boring bits just leaving stuff that's enjoyable. Also, his accent is awesome! As a somewhat monstrous consumer of anime myself, I'm going to try to get some more unusual and unheard of series out there in this thread that people may not have heard of but are still totally worth a watch. Also just to get it out of the way, Spice and Wolf was mentioned by Steel Wolf above - infinite +1's on that, it's my favorite series of all time. The novels though, if you can find them, beat the anime into the dust. Ok, so to start I need to recommend Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun) and absolutely can't recommend it enough. It's absolutely hilarious, and is available on crunchyroll and hulu, too. The story basically follows around Sakura Chiyo and her crush Nozaki throughout the series as well as their absolutely zany friends. Tons of trope subversion and lampshading abound here and it is GLORIOUS. (1 Season right now) _XB097_IZ_4 (Yes, I realize it's hard to take that seriously ) My second recommendation is a bit...odd - Saki. It's vaguely a sports anime, but it's centered on Mahjong. It's very weird, but if you're even a little bit interested, give it a go. There's super powers everywhere, and some are just...insane (like looking a few turns into the future, for example.) This series is as fun as a sports anime gets, and it's what got me started playing Riichi Mahjong. Just a small word of warning, it's lots of girls and very lightly implied yuri...kinda ecchi too. (Season progression: Saki -> Saki: Achiga-hen -> Saki: The Nationals) https://vocevaientender.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/zetsuen-no-tempest-01-large-17.jpg[/img] Third of is Zetsuen no Tempest ~The Civilization Blaster~ (or Blast of Tempest). I honestly don't even know how to really explain this one as a single main genre, but it goes from an intense mind game and craziness in the first 12 episodes to an almost pseudo-comedy and RomCom in the second half, with just as much insanity as the first half. It's also based upon Shakespeare's Hamlet and The Tempest. It's awesome, I promise. Give it a try. (1 Season) Lastly for my recommendations this go around (I'll contribute more if the thread goes for a while) is The World God Only Knows. The absolute ultimate exercise in making fun of tropes, TWGOK sees dating sim master Katsuragi Keima enter a contract with a devil to capture runaway souls; the catch? They bury themselves in the hearts of people and must be forced out by a stronger feeling - in this case, love. So, Keima, who more or less detests real girls must now use his dating sim skills to 'conquer' real girls. It's hilarious. (Season progression: 1 -> 2 -> Goddess Arc) Oh hey! All the recommendations I made actually are on crunchyroll or hulu, with the exception of TWGOK...I don't remember if they have the first two seasons anymore. Enjoy! Quick Edit: Forgot to make a call out for Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works which is currently ongoing this season and is absolutely amazing. IF you like action, it's DEFINITELY worth checking out. And is features some of the best animation I've seen ever. It tops theatrical releases, even.

I think Rin would be voiced by Kawasumi Ayako. (Who is probably best known for Saber, seen below. Enjoy ^^) wheNAtenvvk

...is basically what happens when Rin cooks. (Also, I see Silver Spoon up there!) -
Feel free to post away here, or find us in game! I'm willing to help anytime. Just about, anyway.

Ok! I'm game to help! :3 Are you looking for someone to sit down and RP with you to get ahold of everything, or are ya looking more for like...help on the forum here?

I like some of those new armor sets. I've always rather liked the sets of armor in XIV - they tend to actually look something like armor...well, usually.

What games would you like to get a remaster?
Shizuno replied to Branson Thorne's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Oh, you know, I think Jedi Academy needs a remake. But a total, from-the-ground-up remake, not just an HD remaster. I miss those awesome saber fights. -
I can say with certainty I made it through Our War Game without any tears. Summer Wars makes me tear up over grandma every time, but you walk away from that movie happy in the end. As for Wolf Children...yeah, I've only been able to sit and watch it twice because, like you, I'm a sobbing mess by the end. But hey - just goes to show how much of a badass director Hosoda is.
